It had been the worst day. Love u x It warmed your heart that he was making an effort, and even though your day got worse the thought of coming home to him made it all the more bearable. You had moved in together only two weeks before, and although he often had to leave for months at a time to work, he had managed to get some time off to settle in to your new home. Five hours later you arrived home, exhausted and ready to fall asleep after a day which had only got worse. The journey home usually took you half an hour, yet today it had been double. You were ready to close your eyes and start again in the hope that the next day would be better. Cracking the door open, you squinted as your eyes adjusted to the dark in your house. The line of candles and scattered rose petals made your heart pump faster, and you smiled as you set down your bag and coat and followed the path into the living room. What you saw there made your heart skip a beat. Noah sat in the middle of the room cross legged, smiling up at you with a small puppy in his arms. “Welcome home babe..” he grinned at your shocked expression, and stood carefully with the small animal. “I know you’ve had a bad day, so as well as making dinner for you I wanted to get you a little buddy..” He handed you the small dog who immediately began to snuggle into your neck, “this is Arlo. He’s going to make sure that even if you have a bad day, you have someone cute and cuddly to come home to… when I’m not here I mean” He joked and you let out a small laugh, but oh we’re so emotional that you could barely stop yourself from crying happy tears. “I’ve got enough dog food to last for like 6 months in the store room, and he loves going for walks but also loves napping exactly like you..” he smiled, and you moved to hug him with one arm, nuzzling your face into his neck as Arlo did the same to you. Tears were free falling down your face by the time he pulled back to kiss your forehead, and concern washed across his features before he saw your smile. “Hey..” he smiled, placing a soft kiss to your lips “You’re the best boyfriend ever..” you spoke through your tears, kissing him softly before you placed a soft kiss to the puppies head. “You might wanna withhold your judgement until you’ve eaten the dinner I made..” he joked and you shook your head. “I love you so much..” you whispered against his lips and he smiled, kissing you softly. “I love you too baby..”
