Chapter Twenty Three

                                                                        Ambers POV

    I was a bit excited as my birthday was in a few days, and I would get to see Teival as well!  I was so happy about it.  I also wanted to get Willows birthday present ready as her birthday was a week after mine.  I went about the rest of the week getting ready to see Teival, I couldn’t wait.

    Finally today was my birthday and I didn’t have to go to school!  I would get a three day weekend and would spend it with Teival, I also would sneak up to Willows room to spend a part of my birthday with her.  I got dressed and went downstairs where I was bombarded with everyone giving me birthday wishes.  I was rather touched by this and thanked everyone.  Then I looked over by the front door and saw Teival.  I ran over to him and hugged him.

    “Hey there birthday girl” he said to me smiling.  I smiled back at him.

    “When did you get here?” I asked.

    “I just came in the door, I wanted to surprise you” he said.  He was so sweet and I loved it!  I loved him in general but I wasn’t sure if it was too soon to say it to him.

    “So what’s on the agenda today birthday girl?” he asked.  I told him the plans for the day and he seemed rather pleased with everything.  First we had breakfast with the pack members and we had my favorite which was pancakes with fruit and whipped cream.  Then we went outside and played some games.  I was enjoying myself so much I didn’t realize how much time had passed until my parents called me over for my birthday cake.  Everyone sang happy birthday to me and then I blew out the candles.  I secretly wished that Willow could have loving parents for once and could actually enjoy life instead of barely surviving.  I felt like the day went by too quickly, then after everyone had gone to their room I quickly snuck a small piece of cake and brought it up to Willow.  She was still awake and was happy to see I brought her cake.  She signed happy birthday to me and I smiled.

    “I know its not much but I wanted to spend a part of my birthday with you and I wanted to share some of my cake with you” I said.  She smiled at me and then began eating the cake I gave her.  She seemed to like it a lot.  I was happy about that.  I told her about the activities I did today and then afterwards I took the plate and cleaned it myself then went to bed.

    I was happy Teival would be staying the weekend and then he’d be coming back for the Alpha meeting that happens in a little over a week now!  I knew this would have to satisfy me for the summer as I more than likely wouldn’t see him till summer vacation was over.  We had lots of fun, we went and saw a movie together and went to an aquarium and then went for a nice walk in the woods.  Everything felt so perfect and I was content.

    Unfortunately time came for Teival to leave but I knew I’d be seeing him very soon.  As the Alpha meeting he would be going to would take place a few days after her sisters birthday that was a little over a week away.

    The following week went on as usual except I decided to buy some gifts for Willow.  It would be a bit small as anything extravagant would be taken away from her.  I went to the mall and searched for a gift.  I saw a simple necklace that had her sisters birth stone and zodiac sign on it.  I bought it as the chain was long enough to hide under her clothes and the chain was thin so it wouldn’t draw much attention.  I also decided to buy a few other things.  I bought her a Nintendo ds and a few games to go with it, nice pair of pajamas to wear as well and some nice slippers and socks.  I then wrapped the gifts in wrapping paper and hid them under my bed.  

    Finally it was Willow and Cessair’s birthday.  I went through the task of celebrating the little s**t’s birthday and was looking forward to him starting Alpha training as he wouldn’t be able to torment Willow anymore.  Finally once everything was over I went downstairs and grabbed a piece of cake and then grabbed my gifts and went up to Willows room.  Willow was sitting on her bed in her nice dress she made.  It truly was beautiful, more so than any other dress I’d seen in pictures.  I sat down next to Willow and gave her a hug.

    “Happy Birthday Willow” I said to her.  She smiled and signed thank you.  I handed her the gifts I’d brought her.  She opened them carefully and was so happy with everything I bought her.  She loved all of it and even put the necklace on immediately.  She smiled with tears in her eyes.  I smiled back and then we quickly cleaned up the wrapping paper.  I gave her the piece of cake I’d brought her.  She ate it and I showed her how to use her ds.  I sat with her for an hour as she played her ds.  Then I told her good night and went back to my room happy I spent Willows birthday with her.  

    A few days later I was outside waiting for Teival to get here as it was time for the Alphas to come here for their meeting.  He finally showed up however he immediately excused himself to the guest room as he said he needed to rest a little bit.  I was a little sad but understood.  Then Ansel showed up and walked over to me.

    “Hey Amber” he said.

    “Hey Ansel how’s it been?” I asked.

    “Eh its been fine” he then looked around to make sure no one could hear him.  “Meet me by the forest path in an hour so we can talk” he whispered to me.  I nodded and then he went on his way.  I went inside and sat in my room.  After an hour had finally passed I went and met Ansel by the forest path.  We then quietly walked until we knew we were out of earshot from everyone.

    “So what do you need to talk about?” I asked him.

    “I need you to help me start planning to get Willow next year, I am so impatient and I wish I could get her but I can’t just yet since you’re here and your parents won't let her go” He said.

    “Hmmm I have an idea, after my 18th birthday and a week or two before I graduate make an offer to them.  They probably would except it as I’ll be moving out shortly after my graduation and they’ll want her gone” I said. 

    “That doesn’t sound too bad of a plan,  I think it would work.  But what do I tell them when they ask why I want her?” He asked.

    “Say that you need more servants but don’t want to hire any as they’d need to be payed or something and you could treat her however you want” I said.

    “That makes me feel gross thinking that way about her but I think that would probably work if I’m being honest.  Neither of us can tell her the plan though so her reaction will be genuine and it won’t cause suspicion” he said.  I agreed with him and then we walked back to the pack house.  After I returned to the pack house Teival came out and wanted to spend time with me.  It was rather lovely as we just walked around and talked for hours.  I didn’t want this moment to end as I felt so loved and cared for.
