Chapter Eighteen

                                                                    Willows POV

    Today went on as per usual but with everyone not touching me.  Sure I was called things like a fat pig, a stupid b***h, and dumb cow but that was about it.  I was rather grateful for that.  I made sure to stay out of everyone's way so I wouldn’t get hit or anything which was nice as it had been a few days since I’d been hit.  Of course I knew that it would inevitably happen at some point.  I cleaned, cooked, and served dinner.  Afterwards I went to my room.  As I changed into my pajamas a burst of light went off in my room.  When I opened my eyes there stood a beautiful woman with super light blonde hair that was almost white and really pretty blue eyes.  I just started and then I asked her who she was in sign language.

    Hello Willow

    How am I hearing you in my head?

    I am the moon goddess and can speak to any of my children through mind linking

    Why are you here?  Am I dying?

    No my child, I am here to help you awaken your powers

    What powers?  I’m not special, I’m just a useless slave

    No you were never meant to be a slave, but alas your parents are rather cruel

    Did you know they were cruel before I was born?

    No I didn’t as I had planned to gift you and your brother to them before they even found each other

    Then why do they hate me?

    I’m so sorry my child but I really have no clue, I’ve tried figuring it out but nothing has made any sense

    Also what powers do I have?

    That I’m not telling you, your wolf knows but you will have to figure these powers out for yourself.

    How will I find out about my powers then?

    You’ll find out as time goes on, I’ve just come here to awaken them within you

    I still don’t believe I have powers, and why am I still mute?

    Even if you don’t believe me now you will in time.  You’re still mute for now because your body isn’t able to completely heal itself yet

    When will my body be able to do that then?

    When you find your mate and complete the mating bond, now please come forward

    I walk forward and she touches my forehead, then she disappears.  I feel extremely tired and go to sleep hoping this was all a dream.

     I woke up the next morning with a terrible headache.  I wanted to sleep more but I couldn’t.  I went and grabbed some ibuprofen from the small box of medications my sister gave me before she left for training.  I looked at the clock and realized I had five minutes to get dressed and ready if I wanted to make breakfast on time.  I ran downstairs as soon as I was dressed and quickly got breakfast started.  When I was about finished I began hearing something.

    Why does the Alpha keep this stupid b***h alive

    I looked around but saw no one.  So I went back to finishing the breakfast and began serving the pack members.  Afterwards as I waited for them to finish I heard something again.

    At least the pathetic piece of garbage knows how to cook, that’s the only good thing about her.

    I couldn’t quite tell who it was, but I know none of the pack members would say any of that out loud.  Then I began to realize I could f*****g read thoughts.  Wait, this means that the moon goddess wasn’t lying to me.  Or it could just be my mind playing tricks on me, but then again it would explain the headache I had this morning.  I pondered a bit more as I cleaned up the breakfast dishes and went about my usual chores and duties.  The longer the day went on the more things I heard even though no one was even around.

    But how could I have powers?  I still think I was just freaking hallucinating everything last night

    I don't think you are Willow, seriously since when have any of these pack members said this stuff to your face?

    I thought about it and she was right.  No one in this pack had ever said any of these things to my face.  Hmm perhaps if I truly can read minds then I could perhaps finally learn the truth about why my parents and this pack hate me so freaking much.  I know that Amber doesn’t know since anytime she asked she’d be punished.  Of course I’d need to learn how to focus on one person and shut everyone else out.

    When night time came around and everyone decided to go to sleep I decided to try and practice my mind reading power for a bit.  Unfortunately I could hear everyone else’s thoughts.  I had at least figured out how to turn it on and off but not how to focus on one person.  It probably would take lots of practice.  Ugh this was going to be a bit frustrating but at least Amber would be coming home soon.  Just a few more weeks or so and she’ll be home.  I fell into a comfortable dreamless sleep.

    Over the course of the next few weeks I began practicing more and more with the power I had so far.  The moon goddess had visited me again and said I would gain more over the following year.  I decided I finally believed her since there was no other way to explain this since I knew for certain it wasn’t mindlinking.  I was able to learn how to narrow down how many people I listen to to about five, and I was so close to just reading one person's mind.  This would make things very interesting honestly.  I also was excited because Amber would be coming home this week at some point.  I couldn’t wait to see her again and hug her.  I was excited to hear about her summer training as well since I would never get to go as my father would never allow me to accept an alpha as a mate because I wasn’t deserving of it.
