The princess and the bounty hunter
The lady Emari of Awanit lived a life truly pampered, her parents were gone but she was still a princess her father's mother raised her. She had only been five when her mother and father died she didn't really remember them or their life together. "Grandmother I want to go to the pond the one in the park today." "Why when we have a perfectly good one on the grounds?" Her grandmother hardly let her leave and when she did she was basically surrounded. "I am 16 now Nana and I want to see the outside soon I will be off to college." Her grandmother tried to hold firm on her decision. Soon she would go off to college and hopefully meet a nice noble boy pick better than her father, the woman prayed. "Alright you can go but Emerson will accompany you with a few guards." "Two guards." Emari interjected her grandmother, sending her a small glare ruining her attempt to send more than necessary; the world didn't even know what she looked like how much she was kept in doors."Fine you have one hour then straight home do not be late." Her grandmother used her queen tone so Emari knew not to argue. Nodding in acceptance Emari walked out to get ready for her trip while her grandmother called in Emerson. "Do not let that girl interfere." Her grandmother hissed at Emerson he nodded , bowing to the queen. He hadn't met the girl yet as he only just graduated from the academy at nineteen. He had heard of her before from others; she apparently never misses an opportunity. Chosinh street clothes one of the maids had and making sure all her jewelry was gone one last look in the mirror she thought she looked pretty common, hopefully not drawing too much unnecessary attention. "Are you ready princess?" Emerson called outside her door. "Don't call me princess, call me Emmi while we're away." She didn't want anybody to put the connection that she was the princess. "Of course Emmi." He slightly bowed, she was glad grandmother had picked someone young to escort her, he had taken off his uniform and was wearing a white button a loose tie and a pair of slacks she could barely make out the shape of his gun. After the car dropped them off outside a block away Emmi and Emerson walked while the other two found a place to park and did a quick walk around looking for threats. Emmi didn't talk to Emerson too busy looking at the trees and all the people walking around. The kid running in front of his mom as she chases him so he can't get far away. The old woman sitting on a bench feeding birds then she saw a young couple giggling as the boy pulled the girl in for a kiss. Emmi wondered how much different her life would be when she went off to college away from all the private tutors would she be a girl giggling with a boy? Emerson kept an eye on the princess at all times as he scanned the crowd remembering the picture of the girl it was from Five years ago she couldn't of been more than 12 it was from a surveillance tape she had broken in to the palace after the princess. Suddenly he felt eyes on him. He started searching for the reason the princess was still waking oblivious to him; he stood still waiting as the people walked around and the cars flew by he saw her and it was too late. Levy had grown up as an orphan taken in by a mage they struggled often but nothing was as bad as her childhood pain so she didn't mind. Usually she was happy learning what she could from the mage and practicing martial arts like father had been teaching her before her parents died when she was only seven. "Levi, you need to focus more on school apply to some colleges." Fenrick started in on his lecture "I don't need school I make enough money I don't need to pay for an education." Levy was a bounty hunter endorsed by the queen not that the queen knew that she thought she was endorsing a eastern ninja named Remi. "What happens when you get injured or too old or Horig forbid the queen finds out." Fenrick began, he had been taking care of her since that day 11 years ago. "Mommy mommy what is this place?" Seven year old Levy repeated annoyingly "mommy mommy what happened to daddy?" Mommy just grabbed my hand tighter. "Remillda what happened?" The mage rushed over much younger. "Levy take your sister and go sit down." Levy didn't want to, she wanted to know what happened to daddy too but mommy pointed her away so she grabbed sissy hand and went to the chair. "Levy I need you to take good care of yourself and your sister. Daddy loves you so much he wouldn't want you to worry okay I love you I got to talk to Fenrick you just stay there okay i'm sure you are tired look Emari is already falling asleep." Mommy gave a small laugh that sounded funny but levy looked at her sister and mommy walked away after putting a blanket on them. She hadn't heard much of the conversation but she remembered her mom repeating take care of my babies please. She must have fallen asleep when she awoke in the chair mommy was gone and a group of armored guards busted in ripping her sister away from her and giving her to grandmother. "Grandmother" Levy shouted trying to run to her with a smile on her face but a guard stopped her pushing her to the ground. "Grandmother?" She asked, tears pricking at her eyes. "I am not your grandmother, you worthless child. The only reason I allowed you in my presence was that my naive son thought he loved you but you were never a part of my family, you or your worthless mother." The woman spat at the child who fell to the floor as they left the small cottage. She felt defeated then she heard her sister screaming her name crying but no matter how hard she screamed and chased the guards it was useless her whole family was gone. Not that she hadn't tried over the past 11 years to find her sister she'd even broken into the palace on three separate occasion she got the closest five years ago she was only 13 but she made it to her sister room before the guards chased her off one had actually shot her she hadn't tried sneaking into the palace again. She hoped that getting close to the queen being one of her top bounty hunters would make it easier to get to her sister or even wait till the b***h died but she didn't think she could. Then the thought she tried to keep out popped up. Why hasn't my little sister tried to find me? Did the queen forbid it? Did she give up on me so the easy? Did life of luxury make her cruel, unlike the girl that was my best friend. We did everything together as children. I quickly buried the thought knowing it wasn't possible, it was just fear.
