Frustration swirls through me. Lianna’s in pain. I must get her and that naiad out of here. But how? I scan my surroundings. s**t keeps appearing out of the freaking walls. Who knows what else is coming? I’ve fought enough demons to know that understanding your opponent is key.
Trouble is, I have no idea what I’m up against.
GEENA tilts her head. The orbs set into the nearby walls now flicker white grids across both me and Lianna. “Neither of you are scanning like humans. You’re more … like Q43.” More black mist hisses out from GEENA’s palms.
