5 Lianna Maxon, Avonlea and I whip across the skies. To the humans below, the three of us look like nothing more than fast-moving clouds. I’ve told Maxon where we’re headed, since he’s Mister Maps. The Narragansett River. It feels like days pass before we reach our destination. In reality, it can’t be more than a few hours. The three of us touch down onto a deserted stretch of forest. Thin trees line the clearing, their branches heavy with emerald-colored leaves. Maxon still carries Avonlea in his massive size. A few seconds later, he shrinks down to his regular human form.
