Chapter 1
Alice
Hatter lifted her up onto the giant bed and sank into her like his life depended on it. Knowing she was a virgin just made the sacrifice even more enjoyable. He was hot for her, burning…. Craving her as he licked and sucked at Hanna’s neck, and down her body. In his mind, he knew it would never work between the two of them. The girl wasn’t from his world, and he couldn’t risk her forgetting he existed. Hanna moaned a little louder as she swayed her hips, meeting his every thrust to make him move deeper inside her. Hatter pushed out and back in with precise measurements, making sure to brand her whole body as he went faster with every stroke. As Hanna went over the edge reaching her climax, Hatter came inside her filling her with his seed. “Jekyll” Hanna moaned and whimpered his real name as he came inside of her. That was when he knew he could never let her go. He knew she wanted his lifestyle, wanted more than just her boring reality. But since it was his first and only virgin, he couldn’t just push her into the next submission without taking extreme care not to get too attached. He held her close as he kissed the top of her head and promised to never let her go. And said the forbidden words nobody ever dared to speak.
I looked up at my sealing giving a huge sigh thinking how exactly I could write such scenes if I haven’t had s*x yet. I looked back at the draft I finished for Lena and hit the send button. I knew she wanted the full story, but how on earth was I going to finish a story that was supposed to bring a little more joy to her after her horrible divorce. She wanted something steamy yet a little 50 shades, so I wrote this as a challenge to myself. I didn’t dare use my own name in the book, even though the original did have it. With all the research I have gathered, from all the endless novels and articles I read; I wish I had the guts to live out the fantasies I write about. But then something knots inside my tummy and I pull a face and try to forget the memory. I switched off my laptop and climbed into bed. I twisted my thighs together and tried not to think about what I had just written. And prayed that Lena will at least feel a little better after reading the last part of the book.

Two days pass and I still haven’t heard from Lena. I hoped she was okay, and that she at least was feeling better. Her co-workers said she still had about a week of vacation left and didn’t want to bother her. So, I was left to wait until she finally resurfaced. Sitting up straight cracking my back a bit I looked around my work cubical. I took out my earphones, putting my ice nine kills playlist off, and stared at the sketches that lay in front of me. It was the latest comic the company was working on and I was in charge of sketching the backgrounds. I loved my job; it kept my mind of my past and away from my ex-boyfriend Henry. Just the reminder of him telling me that he would never have s*x with me since I was too ‘fat’. Such a crass word that struck a nerve with me. I mean I’m not fat. I was what the plus-sized community called voluptuous. I liked it more since it made me feel good inside. I have curves in the right places and full thighs. Apparently, Hyde thought it was too much. But like every high testosterone male that didn’t seem to care for a woman's feelings and just wanted some s*x Hyde wanted a blowjob to have me prove him wrong. Manipulative son of a b***h thought he would change his mind after I gave him a blow. I was shocked honestly. I wasn’t going to dwell too his level of IQ. And I told him that. I went as far as to spit at him, the moment he wanted to lay his hands on me. I told him he was crazy if he thought I was going to give him some after he called me fat and basically degraded me. But that was the worst mistake I could have made. He got extremely mad and abused me, and then had me crawling out of his office, bruised and bleeding.
I shook the thought out of my head and stretched again a little gentler. I took out my earphones from my cellphone just as it started to ring. The caller ID made me breathe a sigh of relief. Lena thank the gods! “I’m glad you’re still alive” I said as I answered my phone. “I had some things to take care of.” A moment of silence and then “Can I ask you a favor?” I raised my brow “Sure” I slowly answered. “Can you come to my house after work” I knew she was biting her lip, by the way her words almost sounded like a mumble. Lena was hiding something. But I paid no mind to it as I answered her question. “I actually have to send in my writing assignment tonight” I explained. “It won’t take long please” she pleaded. I let out a quick breath then agreed to see her after work. “Yay” Lena exclaimed happily. As she disconnected the call, I shrugged and placed my phone back on the desk and went back to work this time in silence.
After a long day of work, I was ready to head home and take a nice warm bath in my lion paw bathtub. But first I needed to go to Lena. I stopped my red Volkswagen Beetle in front of her house and found a very expensive Lamborghini standing in her drive. It wasn’t hers; I knew that much. She drove a Honda Civic. Lena’s door stood open so I walked in only to be caught off guard by an Italian God sitting in Lena’s favorite recliner. Looking at his suit, I could tell this man reeked of money. I gave him a smile and greeted him with a simple “Hi” and was drawn from the man’s magnetic pull to where Lena stood at her kitchen island motioning for me to join her in the kitchen. “Lena, what’s going on?” I whispered giving a sideways glance into the living room. Lena gave an uncomfortable smile; then handed me a cup of instant coffee. “I did something” that was vague. “What?” She took a deep breath and blushed “You inspired me” she continued
“Okay, how?” Lena took a sip of her coffee then said “I finished your novel, and it inspired me” I lifted a brow at her.
“How?”
“Okay best start at the beginning, right?” she asked. I nodded “That would be best”
“You know after Donavan and I signed the papers, I had a rough time trying to figure out where to from there. How I could become the woman I was before the s**t hit the fan. Well after you cheered me up by writing such a steamy novel, I needed a change. I went shopping but nothing really helped me get out of that slump like your novel. So, I asked the lady at Victoria’s secret, to help. Asked her if she knew about a b**m club in the area and she send me in the direction of a club called Darkness. And the man sitting in the living room well…” Her blush deepened on her cheeks and then it snapped. Darkness is an Élites only club, which catered for the pristine and riches people in Manhattan. The only reason I know that is because of the website I used for my research. Which meant the hot guy in Lena’s living room was a Dominant. “You can’t be serious” I groaned in helplessness.
“It’s true, and I actually helped her find out exactly why her husband left her.” My head shot up seeing him now standing in front of me and Lena. “He f****d his secretary and found he enjoyed her more than my lovely girl.” He was blunt and very straight-faced saying that. I blinked, felt heat on my cheeks and I pulled my lips into a strange smile. “Uh, thanks for clearing that up” Lena laughed. “Alice this is Horatio Woods, he owns Darkness” I swallowed hard, feeling my hand become shaky. He extended a hand and I took it, hoping he wouldn’t notice my nervousness. His firm grip made me look up and into his dark Gray eyes then back down as soon as it felt like he was looking into my soul. “It’s an honor” his deep voice greeted. “Likewise” I turned back to Lena as soon as he let go of my hand, then asked “Okay so why did I have to come here?” Lena took out a printed copy of the novel I sent her and laid it on the table. “I showed it to Horatio” she explained. I looked at him “I’m sorry you had to read my horrible writing” I apologized. My writing wasn’t bad, nor was it good. And Lena showing my work to a total stranger would have had me mad at her but what came next, had me more worried than anything else.
“No need to say sorry. Actually, after reading your very interesting novel, I want to use the concept in the club” I was sipping my coffee before he laid the punch line on me, which made me choke. “I’m sorry? Did I just hear you correctly? You want to use the concept of my novel in your club?”
“Now you’re getting it” Lena smiled patting me on the back making sure no coffee bubbles were left in my diaphragm.
“Okay, I don’t see how you want to use it since its fiction, but if you can make it work, I bet it would be successful” I told Horatio. “There is a twist though” Horatio added. “I thought as much” I mumbled the reply. “I want you to take part in it” I laughed, but when Horatio didn’t laugh and his expression remained serious, I stopped. “You’re serious?”
“As dark as night serious. Alice, you’re the perfect candidate, we have wanted to have a themed night for quite some time, then Lena came around with your novel and I was hooked.”
“But you can’t use me… I’m still-”
“A Virgin I know” His bluntness was having an effect on me and I narrowed my eyes at Lena, why would she tell her dominant that her best friend was still a virgin? Bet she told him I was almost thirty as well.
“Don’t blame her; I would have known by the way you wrote the novel that you were. But that still doesn’t change the fact that I want you to take part.” I shrugged, shook my head but still asked. “Why me?” I gave in for a second just to see why he wanted somebody so inexperienced. “Because from the moment Lena showed me a photo of you, told me your story…. I knew I wanted to get you to take part.”
“Yeah, just take a leap of faith here, I know how much you really want it. Need it.” Lena chirped in shaking my shoulders. If this talk didn’t put me under a rock nothing probably would. Lena wasn’t wrong, I wanted love and intimacy and happy ever after. Wanted a man who would love me for me. No matter how I looked or how damaged I was. That’s why I wrote my novel like I wanted my life. Somebody who would adore and love me. And never want anybody else. Sure, it was to cheer Lena up, but it was semi for myself to live out my fantasy through creating the perfect man. I sighed then made up my mind. “Sure, okay…Why not” Lena let go of me and then clapped her hands and Horatio grinned. “Great now that we have everything we need. Alice, I will see you Saturday night. Let Lena help you with your attire” he winked at Lena. She nodded and blushed. Me on the other hand was having a battle in my head about what the hell just came over me to agree to this. After some minor details, Horatio said his goodbyes and walked out. As his car roared away, I sat down on the patio and looked up at Lena. “What have I done?”
Jake
My business was booming, and I had everything I wanted in life. It wasn’t until the last couple of years that I wanted more. I didn’t want relationships; I wanted a f**k buddy and dirty b**m. That was why I invested in Horatio’s business when I was still in my twenties, and never really wanted anything else outside of the club. That was until Horatio plunged a yellow envelope on my mahogany desk. I lifted my glasses from my face and looked up to where Horatio placed his feet on the coffee table in front of him. “What am I looking at?” I asked him curiously as to why he didn’t make an appointment and just dropping the yellow eyesore over my work papers. “That my friend is something you will want to read.” He sounded mysterious, like having the biggest secret we shared; had nothing on this. “I’m not much of a reader. Tell me instead” Horatio shook his head, a stupid grin on his face. “It’s a novel about a man called Jekyll” I sat forward a little intrigued. “Oh really?” I usually went by that name at the club, but nobody knew that except Horatio and a selected few. “Yeah, and like I said you will want to read it to understand why I just barged in here to give you that. I bet you a virgin that you will want to join the activities I have planned for this weekend” I took out the big stack of papers and read the front page. What you wish for. “Odd name for a novel.” I told him and placed my glasses back on my face to read the next page.
Hanna never wanted much in life, but she always wanted to be loved for who she was. When she wished to be in an alternate world where love, s*x, and acceptance were the name of the game, she was thrown into a world just like that. That was how she met Jekyll, a man on a mission to give her what she wished for. Dominance, love, s*x, and maybe acceptance. She just didn’t expect him to come with a dark secret that would test their love and passion and make her question if what she wished for was actually what she wanted.
I looked up at Horatio once more. “Who wrote this?” I asked. “A woman by the name of Alice. She just wrote the novel to cheer her friend up after a horrible divorce. Lena came to the club looking for something new, and when I asked her what, she handed me that stack of papers.” I laughed at him “I thought you just f****d and let go, man. What made this woman so special?”
“The fact that she’s hot as habanero, and that when I asked her what she wanted after I read that novel, she told me exactly what she needed. And f**k dude, it was the best time I had since opening the club” I guessed I would have to read the darn thing to understand what he meant by that. “And what is my role in it?” Horatio stood up and winked “Read the novel if you find that you relate with the name, give me a call” he placed his dark shades on his face and walked out. When the door closed, I called my secretary and told her to hold the appointments and calls for the next two hours or so, it didn’t seem like that much to read anyways. After I ended the call, I looked down at the first chapter and started reading.
About two and a half hours later I placed the last page back in the yellow envelope and took the glasses from my tired eyes. My body was a different story. Awake and erect I tried to calm myself. Where was the rest of it, it was a cliffhanger and I hated cliffhangers. I did however see why Horatio wanted me to read it. This Alice woman wrote a little bit too close to home, and I was intrigued. Her characters were well written, her plot needing a little work, but other than that it was good. I tapped my finger on the envelope trying to figure out if I wanted part of this weekend’s festivities, but as my mind raced back to the first s*x scene, I picked up my phone and dialed Horatio number. He picked up the phone in two rings “So have you come to a conclusion?” He asked. Not even a hello. “I did.” Horatio grinned “There is a catch however” he told me.
“What?”
“I wasn’t kidding when I said ‘bet you a virgin’” Somehow that made my c**k stand to attention again. I looked down and then back at the envelope. “And who is she pray tell” I could hear Horatio smile wickedly.
“The writer”
Fuck!
Before we disconnected, I asked him to just at least give me a heads up, or a photo to calm my bear and beast inside. Being a shifter was one thing, to have my best friend drop a possible mate on me; that’s a whole different ball game. Something in the way this whole thing was written had me wonder exactly how she looked. It didn’t really matter; I was just wondering how she wrote her character, to the how she looked. And when the photo came through, I was hooked. She had a pear-shaped body with curves and full thighs; she looked like somebody who won’t break when you hold on to her. But something in her eyes held hurt. And my bear wanted to kill whoever did it to her to make her have so much pain.
