CHAPTER 11

1560 Words
ALICE After a very amazing shower, I wrapped one of the many huge towels around me. How did this all happen so quickly? In a matter of less than a week, Somebody who I only imagined in my mind, and dreams walked into my life and started showing me a side of myself that I never really knew existed. The panic attacks seem to never show up around Jake, and when it does it's like he picks it up and he makes sure I'm okay. I looked into the mirror and smiled. And he is a Millionaire. How was this what I wished for? But when will your luck run out and your wishes turn sour? I turned away from the mirror, Stop it Alice, you're overthinking things and you're not supposed to overthink things. I dried my hair a bit as I walked out into the bedroom and to his door. I poked my head through the door and heard a woman's voice downstairs. I was almost dry when I left the room still with the towel around me and looked over the railing. The woman looked up and waved. Jake looked up and smiled brightly. I backed away from the rail and heard them coming up the stairs. Not sure where to go or what to do, I gripped the towel tighter around myself. When Jake came and stood next to me my hearing returned. s**t was I just having an attack? Just because of a strange woman who greeted me? "Alice, this is Becka" I nodded and greeted her. "Wait, you're the Becka...." Becka nodded. "Indeed I am. We haven't found her yet. Lost the trail again" trail? I tilted my head, my damp hair falling over one shoulder. "We should get you dressed. Jake here would kill me if I got you sick from standing in a towel" I blushed as I looked down. Jake laughed. "Nah don't be so overdramatic Becka." Becka rolled her eyes. They must know each other for a very long time. They talked like it. Jake kissed me, took my hand, and squeezed it. "I'm going to go get us breakfast. We will leave in about an hour, so we best hurry up." Becka and I nodded in agreement. As he left to get breakfast Becka walked us into Jake's room to get dressed. The clothing bags over her shoulder looked heavy. Not to mention the bag in her other hand. She placed them on the unmade bed and turned to me. "Jake gave me your measurements last night, I'm just not sure if all of it would fit" She sounded so polite. But I wasn't sure if that was an insult to my weight or not. She must have seen my expression before holding up a hand. "I meant that some of the clothing might be a little too big. I cater to all sizes and looks. But with how Jake explained....How did he put it? 'She is voluptuous and breathtaking. Please make sure to bring something to bring it out" She rolled her eyes and I laughed. "He is so smitten over you. I haven't seen him do that ever" Becka turned to the bed and opened one of the bags. "You guys have known each other a long time?" She nodded and handed me a pair of jeans and a white shirt. Simplistic. She also handed me the other bag. "Underwear. These I know will fit." She laughed. "I had to make him look at the size bra and panties you wear. The man was just smiling all the way" Becka explained. Was Jake smitten? over me? Me? I stood with the clothing in hand before I actually registered that I needed to get dressed. I pointed to the bathroom and Becka understood what I meant. She nodded and I left to get dressed. The jeans were high cut and skinny, the white shirt just plain. The underwear in the bag made my eyes wide. Those were elegant black lace with gold lining. I poked my head out of the door. "Uh Becka...maybe another shirt?" I saw the shadow of her move about and then brought her hand past the door. A black shirt with a pattern. I liked that. "We have known each other since he moved here ten years ago. He saved my butt one day, and well couldn't get rid of me since" I got dressed while listening to Becka speak. "We are best friends. Me, him, and Horatio. They have been good clients to the Cross and Foxes." I haven't heard of them before. After I got dressed and fixed my hair I walked out of the bathroom and Becka was on her phone. "So this girl you're searching for, why do you think she came looking for me?" Becka looked. "That looks good" she complimented before she sighed. "Lyda, is peculiar. She has her ways of finding people she hears about. She heard about Jake's return to Darkness and must have been curious" The way Becka said this, sounded weird. It sounded once again like there was more to this. "You guys go to the club too?" Becka nodded. "Exploring one's sexuality doll is liberating" Becka explained. "Did you guys f**k?" I shook my head violently. Becka walked up to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "You're the lucky one" Becka said, the door opened to reveal Jake in new clothing and the smell of freshness. He must have taken a shower in one of the other rooms. The black pants paired with a white shirt and a black and navy over jacket made me swoon. His shirt was rolled up again revealing some of the tattoos. The tie around his neck was neatly tied and tie clip to keep it in place. His green eyes scanned me, the sparkle and happiness visible. "Hello handsome" I exclaimed. Becka giggled, the moment I noticed I said that out loud again. Jake walked up to me. "You look beautiful" He told me brushing a hand over my arm. "The other clothing she can keep. You know the rule" Jake broke eye contact with me and nodded. "No returns I know" Becka wrinkled her nose before taking out her phone again. "I have to go." She told us. Jake nodded. "There is a Frappuccino and a muffin on the table" Becka was already walking out the door. "Thank you" She shouted as she swayed her hips walking away. "Is she always like that?" I asked. Jake shrugged. "Becka is a vixen, what goes through her mind sometimes nobody can tell really." Jake leaned in and kissed me unexpectedly, and I felt the air leave my lungs, and passion brewed inside me again. The dance our tongues did was the same as earlier and if he didn't stop now, I was going to be in trouble. Jake broke the kiss and leaned his head to mine. "What you do to me" He laughed slightly, the blush on my cheeks making me feel warm all over. I placed my hand on his cheek and kissed him one more time. I felt more confident around him. "Alice" Jake said. I stopped, a coldness going over me. "If we don't finish now, and eat. You will be late for work." I knew he was right. But I didn't want to leave. "Soon, babe very soon" Jake stood up and fixed my hair. "We will have our time soon" We walked out of the room and down to the kitchen and had some breakfast. "I hired somebody to look after you, while you're at work" Jake told me while drinking his coffee. I stopped midway eating the muffin. "You shouldn't have. My boss will not allow it" Jake waved it off. "I will come and see him later if it will help. I won't go into detail or tell him about what you told me. I just want you safe" I didn't know how I felt about that, nor did I know what to expect. "Can't we just see if she would actually come back? Because I don't think she will. I do appreciate it Jake, but she didn't cause me any harm at all" Jake listened and I clasped my lips shut. f**k here it comes, I closed my eyes as I waited for impact. "Alright" Jake said and I opened my eyes. "If anything else happens, we can talk about having you protected." My shoulders relaxed and I took an uneven breath. Jake stood up after he finished eating and checked his watch. Walking to me he held out his hand. "I promised I will never hurt you. And I never break my promises." I looked up at him and took his hand, standing up. "It's going to be hard every time I speak my mind" Jake smiled. "I love that you do. Never stop"  Jake took me to work and made sure I was inside the building before returning to his car. He messaged me when he got to work and told me to call him if anything happens during the day. I send him a message back and told him to thank you for yesterday and the clothing. I didn't deserve a man like him. I sat down by my cubicle and started my day.
