Chapter 24
The summer had begun, and it was time to reap the fruits of the Earth.
It was the women who took care of the harvests, but this time the Viking was invited to participate too. The Chieftain assigned the various areas where the harvesting was to take place to a selection of natives. The area of berries and fruits was entrusted to Red Moon and Thorald.
The next morning they prepared the horses and set off at an easy pace, leaving the camp behind.
They crossed through the woods: the trees were already covered in dense leaves of intense green, which almost did not let the sun's rays filter through, and the air was fresh and light. The animals ran around busy, while a cicada sang suspended on a branch.
