Chapter 2- Interview

1480 Words
Mickey softly knocked at Andy's door.    "Sissy, are you ready?" He asked.    "Yes! just give me a second". Andy answered     Andy looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a white collared dress and a short pencil skirt that stopped on her knees. Partnering it with 2-inches black wedged shoes and accessorized it with a silky blue thin scarf. She then checked her face closer to the mirror to check if she had put just enough color to make her face more alive. Mascara, check!. Eye shadow, perfect. Eyebrows, on fleak. Lips, red and plumpy.     "Great job, Andy!" she said, almost patting her back.     She fluttered her eyes to see her long black natural lashes and winked at her reflection.     "You can do this, Andrea!!" Cheering herself up.      It would be her first job if she ever got lucky to get a position at the Damien Davidson group of companies. One of the biggest business empires in New York city.      Andy was a fresher, and to apply for this job was a bite in a bullet. She wouldn't mind if she won't pass the interview and probably understand since she was new and had no experience since the desired position was an assistant to the accounting manager.     She then walked towards her door and opened it. Mickey greeted her. He towered her five inches six height plus her two-inch heeled shoes over his six-foot three-inch height. Mickey was wearing his usual white dress shirt and black pants, holding his coat on his left arm.     "You look amazing, sis! Shall we?" Mickey praised, looking at his twin.     "Thank bro, yes, and we shall," Andy answered as they left their house, locking the door behind her.     Mickey drove the car and stopped her in front of the massive tall building.     "Break a leg, sis! I know you will get it, love you," Mickey said before kissing Andy's cheek.     "Thank you, and love you! See you later!" Andy said before getting out of the car.     Andy walked straight to the lobby's entrance. She was amazed to see how beautiful the building inside the D&D group of companies.      People in suits were busy walking around; some were chatting with each other; others talked on their phones. The janitors and maintenance groups were busy cleaning the floor and the wall.     "Wow," She mumbled in amazement.     She headed towards the reception area and was greeted by a beautiful young receptionist wearing a collared gray suit and skirt. The receptionist noticed Andy's presence in front of her counter.     "Hi, may I help you?" she asked Andy.     Andy looked at the small nameplate of the young woman. 'Chloe'     "Hello! Chloe, I am Andrea Mikaela Paxton. I have a scheduled job interview at 9 am today," she cheerfully said, smiling at Chloe,     Chloe smiled back at Andy. She was feeling happy to start her day with this cheerful beautiful woman. She had no idea who the lady was but could sense her sweetness and lively vibe.     Most people who came and visited here ignored addressing her name even it was written on her pin. Some also were rude, especially her CEO's paramours, who loved making troubles at her counter. Her Boss's reputation being a womanizer was uncanny.     She was so used to it that almost every other day or a week, ladies parading, insisting on visiting, and persistently wanting to talk to the President. Though, in the end, they were always left empty-handed as they didn't allow people to come upstairs without a go from the President itself or his secretary.      "Yes! It will be on the 22nd-floor, room 427," Chloe replied upon checking the schedule and notes from the HR department. She then checked her wristwatch, it was half-past eight, and Ms. Andrea was early.     "Here's your pass for the elevator, and please sign this." Chloe gave Andrea the card and a paper to sign, smiling at her.     Andrea obliged to sign it and took the card from Chloe. "Thanks, Chloe! have a great day!" She said before leaving the counter.     "Good luck, Ms. Paxton," Andy heard Chloe replied to her before she entered the elevator. She pressed the 22nd button, and in a minute, she was able to reach the floor. Luckily, she was alone inside.     Andy inhaled a deep breath before leaving the elevator. She then started walking to the reception area when a blonde hair, pale skin woman dressed in a grey blouse and black pencil skirt was dashing in haste bumped into her accidentally. She saw it coming, but somehow her body reflex wasn't fast enough to avoid the collision. Loads of paper that the blondie was holding dropped and scattered on the floor.     "Oh my God, I'm so sorry," Andy gushed.     The lady smiled at Andy. "s**t…N..No, it was my fault," she stuttered to the beautiful lady she bumped with. It was her fault since she was walking blind. She dropped her eyeglasses on her way to the office and would take a while to get herself another prescription. Crouching down, she picked up the documents dispersed on the floor that her Boss asked her to send to the auditing office.     Helping to pick up the strewn things on the floor, Andy noticed the woman was squinting her eyes; she must be having a sight problem. Andy thought.      "What the hell, Charlene?" A deep baritone voice of a man yelped, startling both of them     Andy and Charlene and turned their heads back and looked at the owner of the voice.     Andy's eyes gaped as she was seeing the most handsome yet cocky man she had ever met. She was stunned, staring at the man with silky brown hair, bright green eyes, lightly stubble face, a well-built figure dressed on his white dress shirt, and black pants. She was starstruck, to say the least.     "Boss, I..I… I'm so sorry," Charlene stuttered. It was not a good time to flop on her job since her Boss wasn't in a good mood today. "I wasn't looking at my way, and I bumped…."     Andrea noticed the woman named Charlene's distress. She could lose her job by the way this man reacted to her. She must act to save this poor woman's neck.     "No! it was my fault! I was busy on my phone when I crashed into her. I'm sorry," Andy blurted as she stood up, holding and looking at pieces of paper in her hand.     Something picked her attention on the paper. Andy narrowed her eyes, glancing at some unusual names and numbers written on the form. Andy brushed it off and handed the documents to Charlene. The handsome man was looking daggers at her.      "You should pay attention when you are walking, so you don't create trouble and inconvenience to anyone here." The man roared at Andy before storming out, leaving her stunned with Charlene.     "I'm sorry...Ms…." Charlene started to apologize, looking at a woman who just saved her neck from her terrible Boss. The woman looked terrified that her face turned red.     "It's Okay, Ms. Charlene. It's Andrea," Andy replied to Charlene.     "I'm sorry, Ms. Andrea. He wasn't always like that. He's nice, but I think Boss woke up on the wrong side of the bed today," Charlene kidded. Perhaps it was because of his Boss's mother.     Andy smiled at Charlene. "No worries, Ms. Charlene, do you need help rearranging those files" Andy offered to Charlene.     "No, it's okay. Thank you, Ms. Andrea," said Charlene.     She then glared at Andrea. She has been working in the company for three years, but she had never seen this beautiful face aside from her Boss's flings inside the building. For a second, she thought she was one of his girls because of her beauty.     Andy was puzzled as she saw Charlene intently looking at her. She could understand it since she was aware that Charlene had no eyeglasses, but her squinting eyes as she looked at her were kind of disturbing.     "Is there something wrong with my face?" Andy asked.     Charlene's eyes widen, realizing she acted creepy in front of Andrea by observing her face.     "No, I'm sorry… I was trying to remember if I have seen you before." Charlene apologized.     "Ohhh, it's okay, no…". Andy said, inhaling a deep breath. "I got to go, Charlene," she added.     Andy was about to leave and head to the room for her interview, "Are you working here, Ms. Andrea?" Andy heard Charlene asking     "No, not yet. I'll be having an interview in the next 15 minutes with HR," Andy replied, smiling. Charlene's eyes widen.     "Ohh, I'm so sorry for keeping you. Best of luck, Ms. Andrea!" Charlene said before walking away.     "Thank you!" Andy said and smiling as she walked towards the room.     Andy heaved a deep breath before knocking at the door. "You can do this!"  ~
