Chapter 3- Demigoddess

1535 Words
"How is it going, Bro?"     "What the hell are you doing here, Diane?" Damien asked his younger and only sister Diane. She was sitting on his office chair, legs up on his table.     Diane stood up and sat on the big couch near her brother's large office table, "Visiting you?" She replied.      She knew her brother was upset; that's why she visited him. Their mom was stressing him to do something she knew her brother would disapprove of.     "It's only nine am in the morning. Tell me, why are you here? You could've just sent me a message to wire you the money!" Damien hissed. He loosened his necktie and slumped his body on his swivel chair.     "I don't need money. I only want my dear brother," Diane answered. "Seriously, I'm worried about you. After the stunt that mom did last night, I wanted to follow you and say sorry about it. had I known she was going to do that, I would have given you heads-up." She added.     Diane was worried about her brother, and she looked up to him as a bigger person since their father died almost eight years ago. She was only ten years old at that time, and Damien was seven years older than her. The company's responsibilities were given to Damien when he reached 20 years old. He had so much on his plate right now, and their mom was not helping.     "Cut the crap out, Yan. What do you want?" Damien asked again.     He has no time for his loving sister's crap. The meeting from the accounting office was terrible. He went ballistic upon learning some discrepancies on their budget and financial report this year. He asked them to re-submit a much clearer accounting report before storming out the scene.      He got so occupied and crossed that he even lashed out at his secretary Charlene upon seeing the papers he asked to bring to the auditing office were scattered on the floor because of that careless woman. The beautiful woman who picked his attention.     The thick- black hair, mesmerizing blue-gray eyes, small button nose, red lips, hourglass body of the stunning lady he met in the hallway with Charlene. He had never seen her in this building before, and he doubted she was an employee. He snapped out with her, too, but he quickly regretted it.      It was an accident, and of course, no one would like that to happen. He wanted to go back and apologize or maybe get her name, but he shrugged the thoughts away since his mind went back to the displeasure of what happened in his accounting department.     'I would love to see you again, mystery lady,' he thought and chuckled.     "Hey, Damien to earth, Earth to Damien," Diane said, seeing her brother looking into the ceiling and chuckling. She knew he was upset, but to see him smile for an unknown reason was once in a blue moon moment.     Damien was brought back to his senses, hearing his sister's voice. "Tell me, what do you want?" he said in a stern voice.     "I want a hug and my brother," Diane softly said, standing up and headed towards her brother. Damien smiled and stood up, receiving the embrace from his sister. He knew he couldn't shut her up. Diane was his most favorite person in his life.     "I'm sorry, Damien. Mom shouldn't have done that to you. I never liked that Jastin woman. I know from the start she's a snitch, but I don't know why mom liked that bitch." Diane murmured, hugging her six foot three inches tall brother.     Damien rubbed comforting circles on Diane's back. "It's okay, Yan. I can handle mom. She must know I am not a kid anymore that she couldn't just ask impossible things. I didn't even like that woman, to be honest," He said.      The woman, his mom, wanted to pair with him didn't even stir his interest, unlike the mystery woman he just met minutes ago.     He identified himself as one of the youngest and richest bachelors in the city. Being the CEO of the company, his dad left for him. He climbed up to the position when he reached the age of twenty—overtaking the responsibilities of the magnate company his dad built with the help of his late father's friend.     Diane broke the hug, "Yeah, I want to burn that Jastine woman alive. She wasn't even beautiful, only her caked make-up, and her fu*king thin ass body is making her famous on the runway," she disgustingly said.     Damien couldn't help but laugh at his sister's remark about his "Future fiancé" the night Diane was talking about was a supposedly family and friends dinner that ended up with their mom announcing the people between two families about the upcoming engagement between him and Jastine. His mom probably thought he would agree since when he was a teenager, he had been a Yes-person to her every request but not this time. He can't just marry someone he doesn't even know or love.     Damien broke the hug, "It'll be fine, young lady. Don't worry about me, and you should worry about yourself and your study, okay?" he said to Diane. She nodded, going back to the couch.     "So tell me, why were you smiling awhile ago?" Diane asked. That didn't escape her eyes. She wanted to know if his brother has a special someone now,     "That was nothing," he said, sitting back on his chair.     "I don't believe you, spill!" she sniggered.     "Nah, just someone I met outside the office, beautiful woman, never seen before, and I don't know if I'll ever be again." He answered.     "Hmmm, you have dated countless beautiful women; that was first," she teased.     "What you mean first?" Damien was getting perplexed by his sister's words.     "You were smiling and flushed."     "Shut up, Yan! I told you it was nothing!" he playfully shouted.     Damien knew himself as a player. He probably bedded half of the women in the city, especially in high-class society. He was being called once as a womanizer in the town by the press. His interest in women was never-ending. It wasn't that he was pursuing them; it's another way around. Love was not included in his book, more likely lust.     "La, la, la, la," Diane sing-sang, cupping her ears. "My brother is in love,…," she continued singing.     Damien took a paper and crumpled it before throwing it at his annoying sister. "Get out, or you won't receive your allowance for this week." He threatened, knowing how to shut Diane up.     Diane was stunned and stopped teasing her brother. She needed that money for her new album collection.     "Okay, Okay!" she said, rolling her eyes at him. "You dirty old man!" she said, teasing him.     "I'm f*****g not old, and I'm only twenty-five."     "Yeah, yeah, you are, but you will die at old age without a wife and kids since you love playing in bed." She truthfully teased.     Diane knew her brother's paramour escapades since she was a good friend with Chloe, the receptionist downstairs whom she called a "frontliner" when it came to the parade of women her brother left after a night or two affairs.     "What the?" Damien scowled at his sister. He facetiously reacted. Of course, Diane knew about it.     "Yup, yup, yup! Don't deny it, bro, but whoever was on your head a while ago, I am deeply hoping to the heaven, praying, and requesting she will be the one for you because you looked different for a short moment," Diane said truthfully.     "Yeah, whatever," Damien said, rolling his eyes, mimicking his sisters' famous eye expression. "The door is open, and you can leave me now. See you later," Damien said before turning his face on his laptop.     Diane stood up and went to kiss her brother on the cheek. "Bye, love you, and that's a five-hundred-dollar talk," She kidded at him before heading to open the door.     "Clean my apartment, and I will double it," He said,      "Deal!" Diane quickly replied before closing the door.      Damien laughed, continuing his unfinished work. ~     Diane walked out of the building and was walking towards the car parking when a man bumped into her, or should she say she crashed into him. The man fell on the ground and sprung up quickly. She knew it was her fault since she was fishing out her car keys and not looking at her way.     "What the hell, you piggy woman!? Are you f*****g blind?" The man yelled at her, "Your fat body is so big you should pay attention to the people in front of you!" he added, shouting.     Diane was stunned and couldn't form her words. She was indeed big and bulky, but she doesn't deserve to be insulted. "Whale!" the man added before spitting on the ground.     Her eyes welled up. Diane was about to apologize.     "You! Goddamn useless old man! You don't have any right to insult her!" She heard a woman screaming at the man who just insulted her. Diane turned to find the voice.     The raging woman was walking towards them. "Wow, a demigoddess came to rescue me," She mumbled.
