Chapter 4- Angel

Andy fished out her phone to call her brother. On the second ring, Mickey picked it up. “So how was it??” he asked excitedly.     “I got it!” Andy shrieked happily.     She was so excited to deliver the message to her twin. The interview was tough where she had to face a panel of three people who she had thought was having a bad day at the same time.      They asked her about her working experiences, which she already expected, would be included in the interview questions. She answered them about her studies and her training at one of the city's reputable banking companies.     One of the panel interviewers shown her some documents and asked her views. Upon seeing and scanning it, the text looked ideally reported and recorded, but you would be mistaken if you ignore little details.     Andy found some discrepancies and inconsistencies in the report. She wittily explained to them what she observed. The explanation Andy given impressed the panel, and the job was offered to her right then and there—the assistant to the assistant auditing manager. Not the one she applied for, but she was happy to get a starting position from them.     “I knew it! Of course, you nailed it, Sis!!” Mickey exclaimed happily. He had no doubt she would get it. “Let's call for celebration, let me…Andy, are you okay?” Mickey asked upon hearing his sister going out of the line and hearing some loud voices on the other side.     “Hold on, Mickey. I got to do something, and I’m okay. I’ll call you back” Andy dropped the call before Mickey could speak.     An older man was shouting at this pretty curvy girl. Andy saw the commotion and slowly walked towards them.     “What the hell, you piggy woman!? Are you f*****g blind?” she heard him shouting, “Your fat body is so big you should pay attention to the people in front of you!” she listened to the man continued yelling at the petrified poor girl. The girl wasn’t that big, just curvy, but this man was so insensitive with his words.     “Whale!” the man added, and Andy quickly saw red. He walked over to the man and shouted.     “You! Goddamn useless old man! You don’t have any right to insult her!” she spat. Pointing her index at him     “I do have a right. She crashed into me and didn’t apologize!”  he shouted back.     “How would she say sorry to you when you started bad-mouthing her, i***t!” She roared. “Get your f*cking ugly face out my sight, or I will kick you in the ass!” she threatened the old Guy. She had so much respect for older people, but this dumb man was an exception.     “b***h and pig,” the man mumbled, spitting on the floor before walking away.     Diane saw the beautiful lady’s eyes widen with rage upon hearing what the man said and did. She was about to stop her from following the man when she strode and kick his ass, making him fall on the ground. The people had started to gather around and look at the commotion.     “You dirty old ass man, You have no right to insult us!” she roared at him. The Guy was petrified from what happened. He knew he messed up as he saw the guards were coming out of the building to control the scene. He quickly stood up and ran away.     Andy brought back her attention to the petrified young lady, “Are you okay, Honey?” she quickly asked her.     Diane nodded, but the shock was etched on her face.     “I...I'm okay…Thank you…Y…You're an angel,” Diane stuttered. The woman indeed in front of her was a goddess disguised as an angel or vise versa.     “No, I am not, honey. I was not too fond of that bastard’s tone of voice, and what he told you was a lie. You're not what he said. You're beautiful and perfect.  Do you understand?” Andy said, brushing the young lady’s arms. She was worried that the asshole’s words might impact her confidence.     “Is everything alright, Ms. Diane?” Andy heard a man saying. She turned around to see some guards around them; if she wasn’t mistaken, they're the security inside the building.     “Yes, we are fine now,” Diane answered. “She saved me,” she said, pointing to the stranger s***h angel in front of her.     “We are sorry we didn’t arrive on time,” one of the guards said. “You sure you're okay, maám?” he asked again.     “Yes, yes, thank you,” Diane answered. The guards left and then looked back at her angel again. “Thank you… Ms….?”     “It's Andrea, not angel,” Andy said, chuckling. “and you must be Diane.” She said as she heard what the guards addressed her.     “Yes, Diane. You saved my life, Andrea…”     “No worries, just be safe, please… and again, don’t…” The sound of her phone ringing cut Andy off. She took it and found Mickey on called ID. “Excuse me, I got to take this..” she whispered before answering it.     “Is everything alright, Andy?” Mickey asked. He was bothered by the sudden hanging up of the call.     “Yes, I'm perfectly fine. Don’t worry, I shall see you soon. I'm heading to the hotel. Andy said in one go before ending the call. She turned around to Diane.     “I got to go, honey,” she then hugged her.     Diane hugged Andrea back. She was so happy that she received another form of care from a stranger aside from her brother. Not a stranger anymore. Her name was Andrea. They broke the hug, and Andrea quickly hailed a cab.     “Bye, Diane!” she said before getting in the taxi.     Diane went back to her original plan. It was to get her keys from her bag. ~     “Congratulations, sissy!!” Mickey said, hugging his sister for the nth times. He was so ecstatic Andy got a job at her dream company.     “Thank you! And cheers!” Andrea clunked her wine glass with his Mickey. It was afternoon lunchtime when they decided to celebrate her success. Andy was asked to start on Monday, and today was only Friday.     “I knew it was for you! I’m thrilled, Andy! Congratulations!”     “Thank you, bro!” Andy replied, Her brother was her greatest cheerer. She was his inspiration. They only had each other in this world.     “And to celebrate this and as your reward, we are going to shop for your dress tomorrow, my girlfriend.” Mickey sniggered.     Tomorrow will be the Annual gala that he talked about with Andy, where she had to pretend as his girlfriend.     Andy slapped her head lightly. “Oh, f**k, Is that tomorrow?” she asked. She almost forgot.     “Ahuh,..” Mickey nodded. “Please don’t tell me you changed your mind?” he asked.     “Hmmm…” Andrea said before planting her fingers on her chin, frowning as if she was with her thinking hat. Mickey scowled.     “Make it two dresses and a pair of shoes,” Andy kidded before giggling.     Mickey heaved a sigh of relief and laughed with her. “Deal, make it two shoes!” he said, making Andy gasped in disbelief. She was just kidding, but Mickey seemed willing to gift her what she wanted. “You sure?” she asked him again.     “Yes! one for the celebration and one for thank you for being my sister.”     “Awww… So sweet!” Andy said in awe. Her brother was the sweetest.     They both finished their lunch. Mickey went back to work, and Andy headed home. They planned to shop for their clothes in the evening after Mickey’s shift around dusk.     Andy prepared all the stuff that she will need for her new job. She was so excited that her office suit was already hanging in front of her closet. She laid down on her bed to take a nap, but the thought of the arrogant man in the office crossed her head. He was handsome yet cocky, but his unforgettable mesmerizing green eyes wouldn't leave her thoughts. “Who the hell are you?” She mumbled before snoozing away.
