Chapter 12- Brother

1222 Words
Months quickly passed. Andy had been doing her post as the new accounting manager. People at the office had no idea that it was she who did the job with those people. She can imagine how people would despise her for doing the right thing. However, some employees weren’t happy with her promotion.  Andy can’t blame them, though. She was a novice and barely new in the company, but she tried her best to learn what was needed.     Being the Manager meant she had to move office and be on the same floor as the President. She had her room and workplace to deal with and work with the companies ongoing accomplishment. Moving office and being the Manager also meant to see Damien in every meeting.  Andy’s feeling toward him was getting deeper. She had never felt it before and wondered how deep it would go. She acknowledged she was way out of Damien’s league as she’d seen the parade of beautiful ladies who were coming in and out of his office.     The looked and stared she sometimes got from Damien made her stomach flip. Suppressing the feeling that was blooming, she made sure they weren’t left alone in one place.     “Hey, woman. How is it going?” Charlene said, breaking her thoughts.  Andy checked the clock on her table. It was almost lunchtime, not wondering Charlene was here in her office room.     “I'm good. I just finished the report I'll be sending you later,” Andy said, organizing and filing the papers in front of her.     “You seemed in deep thought, spill,” Charlene sniggered. She was standing at her door for almost a minute, and Andy was zoning out somewhere.     “No, nothing.  I was just thinking of something.”     “A man?”     “Shut up, lady,” said Andy, beaming, shaking her head. Her face was red and flushing. Charlene was right. She was indeed thinking about a man, not just a man. It was their boss, Damien.     “Shall we? I'm starving, Andy.”     “We shall, you hungry lady,” Andy said, getting up from her chair. She was also famished.     The two ladies walked out of Andy’s office. They were standing and waiting for the elevator to arrive on their floor.     “God, How long will this lift going to open? I'm starving to death!” Charlene complained. She couldn’t enjoy her breakfast since her boss asked her to come early today.     “Patience, woman, soon,” Andy said, chuckling.     The elevator dinged, and a familiar young lady approached them, getting out of the elevator.     “Oh my God! my Angel!” said the curvy girl. Her eyes were wide as saucers were looking at Andy.     Andy’s eyes widen upon seeing the girl. It was the same lady she helped when some asshole insulted her. ‘What’s her name again? Dana? Dina?’ She wasn’t bad with remembering names, but for some reason, she couldn’t remember it.     “Hi! Diane!” Charlene greeted happily. It has been a while since she had seen this lovely chubby girl.     Yes, Diane is her name. Andy remembered.     “Hi! Charlene!” She greeted back Charlene, and then she faced the sss goddess. “Your name is Andrea, right!?’’ Dianne said. It was a shock to see her guardian angel on her brother's office floor. ‘Was she working her?’ She thought.     “Yes! my name is Andrea. Nice to see you again, Diane!” She greeted her back, hugging the woman.     “God! I'm so happy to see you again. Oh, do you work here?” She queried.     “Yes!” It was Charlene who answered. “She is our new Accounting manager!” She proudly added.     “OH MY!! So you were the one who helped my brother!!?”     Andy’s eyes widen. “Brother!?”  she asked Diane. Please don’t tell me.     “SHHHH,”  Charlene shushed Dianne quickly. No one knew in the office who helped Damien about the scandal they faced months ago.     Dianne swiftly cupped her mouth. She remembered Damien told her about it, and she was promised not to divulge any of it to anyone.     “Oh, I'm sorry…” Dianne sheepishly replied. She was about to say something when they heard Charlene's stomach grumbled. Like a churning sound of a complaining tummy.     Andy and Dianne’s eyes split. Charlene’s face turned fifty shades of crimson. It was a comical moment that when it turned, Andy and Dianne looked at each other and burst out laughing.     Charlene’s face turned redder that if there's another name for red, it would be Charlene-red. She couldn’t help but c***k up with them. After minutes of nonstop giggling, the three girls stopped.     “Okay, okay, that was fcuking enough,” Andy broke it, tittering. “Dianne, please excuse us. My friend needs to eat soon, something complaining inside of her.”     “Yes, yes, That was a good laugh. Anyway, Nice to see both of you. Charlene, you may go and feed your monsters.” Dianne bantered.     “As you wish, my lady. By the way, your brother is in his office, burying his face to his work. Go check on him,” Charlene said.     Andy and Charlene went back to their business. They rode the elevator and went straight to the cafeteria. ~     “How did you know, Diane?” Charlene asked Andy. They were currently eating their lunch.     Andy swallowed her food before answering Charlene. It didn’t cross her head that Damien and Diane were siblings. That was why when Diane said to her, ‘my brother’ she couldn’t believe it.     “Oh, the day I got interviewed here, I was talking to Mickey on the phone, breaking him the news about my job, when out of a sudden, I saw this man insulting and embarrassing her in front of the building. I stood by her and kicked his ass.”     “You did!?”     “Yeah, I kinda helped and saved her,” Andy said before taking another bite of her sandwich.     “Wow, no wonder that young lady likes you so much. She even called you an angel.”     “I know, She’s a beauty, a little bit curvy, yes, but that doesn’t warrant the fcuking old man to lambast Diane.”     “I understand. She was the nicest among the family. Mrs. Davidson was an anal. She wasn’t like her children,” Charlene cooly said, whispering the insult.     “Charleeen!” Andy whispered yell, glaring her eyes at Charlene remarked.     “I am just telling the truth,”     “Stop! She’s our Boss’s mom. Someone might hear you!”     “I don’t care,” Charlene calmly said, “Just kidding,” She added, admitting she didn’t want to feel the wrath of the older Davidson. The woman was a beauty but only loved people who belonged and sharing her social class.      "You are a character, lady!" Andy said, giggling.
