NO SURPRISES

CHAPTER 2 FRIEND

I woke up as i started hearing knocks on my door, i hurriedly opened it to see Tasha smiling while holding a bunch of bored games in her hand. I let her in as we sat in my bed across each other.

“Isn’t it too early?” I complained, the girl in front of me just ignored my words and started organizing some games in front of us. “ I want to get to know you, you know like get to know each other.” She responded.

I nodded as we started playing the game as well as talking about ourselves for hours, turns out Tasha was Hospitalized because numerous Broken Glasses had fell on her, especially in her abdomen.

She likes Being alone and doing nothing, however she also likes company.

“ How about you? Anything that you’re good at?” She asked. “Hmm.. I love Painting, come to think of it. Let me paint you now, The first day of our friendship!” I whole heartedly cheered as i stood up and got the empty canvases on my room as well as my painting materials.

We talked as i was painting how she looked like in front of me. We then started talking about the boy from last night.

“Should we check him out?” She asked.

My eyes widened as i spoke “ No? Are you crazy? What if we get in trouble?”

“ What if we won’t?” She grinned at me mischievously as she started getting out of the bed. “ Wait! Fine, But let me finish this painting first.” She agreed and we started talking again as i continued painting.

I have always loved making portraits of people i met or people i love, i have always adored the series of painted and unpainted canvases hanging on every sides and every edges of my wall.

Minutes later, Nurse Theo came and was shocked to see Tasha in front of me. “ There you are!” He slightly screamed. Tasha laughed it off as Nurse Theo bid goodbye to get Tasha her food so we can eat together.

Nurse Theo came minutes later and served us hospital food. “ So..you two have become friends, huh?” He questioned. Earning nods. “ Well, enjoy your food, call me if you want anything.” He left.

Me and Tasha continued eating our food when she suddenly spoke. “ You know… Last knight I wasn’t supposed to be outside of my room too.” I looked at her confused. “ then why were you outside?” I asked.

“ I was busy staring at my crush, Red. He’s the son of the owner of this hospital. He has a heart disease too.” She exclaimed. “ You’ve been spying on him?”

“ What? no! Maybe? I mean we accidentally see each other on the cafeteria at night time sneaking on our rooms!” She spoke again. “ I talked to him once…He accidentally knocked my food over when we were passing by each other and he kept asking for forgiveness and he even doubled the amount of my food!” She Said, Flustered as her cheeks started turning red. Probably reminiscing the moment.

I laughed at her and continued talking until our food was gone. We then chilled and talked for more until she finally said what i was hoping for her not to say.

“ Should we go to the other kid’s room? The one from last night across your room?” She asked. God no! “ uhm.. fine.” I totally said the opposite of what i was thinking!

We then walked out of my room and started peeking on the room across to see the same guy from last night. Looks like he still hasn’t woke up. “ Should we go inside?” The girl beside me crazily asked again.

“ What? No! We shouldn’t!” But it was too late, i found myself inside of the guy’s room as Tasha had already dragged me inside. We then stood beside his bed and stared at the different tubes inserted on his body. A sudden panic had indulged in both of us when we saw his point finger move.

“ Did you also see that?” Tasha Questioned. I nodded and gulped as i continued staring at the young man. Both of his finger had started moving now. I looked back at Tasha to see that we have the same reaction. When we looked back we saw it was four fingers moving!

“ Let’s go!!!! What are you waiting for!” We surprisingly exclaimed at the same time, leading our way to the door when…

“ W-wait..” A weak, but manly voice spoke. “ Ele, When did your voice become so…Manly?” She asked. “ That wasn’t mine” i forced a smile.

When then glanced at the boy in our backs and saw its eyes are still closed, we were relieved and was about to go out when he suddenly spoke. “Girls.” It was the same weak, but surprisingly attractive voice from the guy. His eyes were still closed but his mouth was moving.

Both me and Tasha scrammed away and went to my room. “ That was scary!!” She shouted. I agreed as we both continued peeking from my window. “ Did you see that man’s features?” Tasha.

I shook my head. “ i was too busy looking at his wounds.” I answered. Tasha then spoke. “ He kinda looked like my other crush, Kim Mingyu. Really..” She shared. I didn’t know who was the other crush she was talking about so i just shrugged it off.

Later on Nurse Theo came to my room and went beside my bed, he looked like he was going to announce something. “ Both of you, Try to develop friendship with the guy across ok? Be friends with him and spend your days with him, if it is possible for both of you to eventually get close to him that’s nice. However if it is hard, its fine too.” He announced.

“ Its fine for me.” i answered, so did Tasha. Nurse Theo then nodded and smiled before going out. “ Oh yeah before i forget, that boy loves photography. He’s also a gym foe i must say.” He added.

“ Akhio Jasper…That’s his name.”and he left.

Akhio Jasper, What a beautiful name.
