NO SURPRISES

“This is all your fault!” A loud scream echoed through a teenage girls hospital room as it slowly causes her to open her eyes. “ What are you talking about Lionel?! It was you driving that day!!” Another voice came. “ But it was you who pushed me to go outside!” I groaned, annoyed. My eyes slowly opening as i see my parents in front, arguing again. Their eyes slowly move down to me and ran as they freak out. “ Nurse! She’s awake! My daughter’s awake!” Dad screamed. But nobody went inside to check on me. “I’m doing fine, no need to call the nurses or doctors.” I shrugged. They then nodded and sat down as they started checking my state. “ What Happened, mom? Dad?” I asked. Two of them were starting to avoid their gazes at me when suddenly a doctor barged in. “Eleanore! You’re awake!” The Female Doctor happily said and started checking my vitals as she continuously asked me questions. “ Eleanore, dear. We got into a car accident, i’m so sorry.” My mother suddenly talked.. teary eyed. “Its fine, but i’m stuck in this hellhole with no confirmation on when i’ll be able to leave.” I answered. The doctor looked at me weirdly and asked. “ Who are you talking to?” I pointed at my parents in front and said “ My parents.” The doctor then looked at where i pointed my finger and started nodding. Good morning Mr&Mrs Brown.” She greeted. My parents nodded and waited for her to finish checking me up until she finally bids goodbye to check other patients. “ Oh and Eleanore, You’ll be staying here for a while.” She confirmed. I hissed, unable to handle the feeling of annoyance as i heard what she had said. I spent my day talking with my parents and watching Tv, it was a good decision for the hospital to be putting smart tv’s. “ we’ll be going, dear.” My mother said as she kissed my forehead along with my dad. They went away as i continued eating the dinner the hospital has provided for me. This dinner sucks , kinda hungry for more. It won’t hurt to sneak outside, right? I slowly put on my slippers as i walked outside, greeted with that same old hospital doors and design which always looks like there would be ghosts popping into them. I sneakily walked, and walked, and walked, trying to find a somewhat cafeteria. But instead i seemed to be lost! I saw a patient sitting at a corner and gathered my courage to ask. “ U-uhm excuse me, do you perhaps know where the cafeteria is?” I faintly asked. “ Just go straight, once you hear classical songs just go to it. “ The stranger answered. I thanked her and walked my way straight until i began hearing piano sounds. My eyes widened seeing how nice this cafeteria looked, i wonder how privileged this hospital is. I walked through a stall that had Pasta and bought one, as well as buying some chicken to eat. After, i rushed outside only to be greeted by the sound of alarms indicating an emergency was taking place. I saw doctors entering the main gate as a male nurse was on top of a boy laying on an emergency stretcher as the nurse was giving him CPR. I shivered at the sight of the young man being covered in blood, especially the blood that had now scattered on the white floor. It was horrifying to see, i could already see open wounds on the mans chest, more on his arms, and some on his face. His hair was soaked with blood. “ Eleanore, what are you doing here?!” I heard a faint sound in my side. It was one of the nurses taking care of me! I freaked out and was about to run away when the nurse went in front of me, blocking my way as he eyed the plastic i was holding. “Food, huh?” He laughed. “ I was hungry! What would you expect?” I grumpily spoke as i started walking my way towards my room. “ You could’ve just told me you know, you might see ghosts around here.” He teased. “ I am not afraid, after all.. I’m already 16!” I went inside my room as i turned the television on and went on Netflix as i organized my food. “ What happened to That boy?” I asked. “ The names Theo, kid. The boy Attempted to commit suicide, but someone saw him but was too late to save him. However was not too late to call the hospital. He had several injuries as i saw him earlier, looks like he really wanted to die.” Nurse Theo answered. “ Poor boy..” i muttered as i took a bite into my pasta. “ He’s the same age as you, though.” He spoke again and later bid goodbye as he went out of my room. I later then continued watching the television as i ate my very much delicious food. Later on i heard doctors and nurses outside of my room, it looked like they were transferring someone into the room across from mine. I Peeked and nodded as i indeed saw them organizing the room and carefully putting a body into it. My eyes widened as it looked like the body from that boy earlier. The one who Committed suicide! Is that him? I wonder if that’s him.. I jumped when i felt someone’s presence around me, it was her! The girl i asked earlier! “ W-What are you doing here?” I asked. “ i should ask you the same thing, I stay 5 rooms before his, how about you?” She asked. I pointed the room across. “ My name’s Tasha, nice to meet you?” She introduced herself. “ Eleanore, but you can call me Ele or.. Rose” i introduced myself too as i shook her hands. “ are you high? Where did the rose came from?” Confused, she asked. I laughed and told her it was my second name, earning a nod. We continued watching the doctors and nurses on that room when suddenly one doctor looked at out direction which led us to hide ourselves. “ Bye Ele! Or Rose! See you tomorrow!” She waved goodbye, running and stopping on the fifth room before where i was. I waved my hand and sneakily went inside my room as i continued watching and finishing my food. I guess i got myself a friend.
