Blurb

It was a Friday when it happened, but I can’t remember the details. When I try to think back it’s blurry. I sit in this hospital room everyday: I eat my meals in this room, I sleep in this room when allowed, and I think and stare and think some more. How is it that I never noticed how much she gave me. She gave me all she had, and now she’s in a coma.

Prologue
A goddess in a fabled tragedy that closely resembles Clair Lune depicts the tale of a woman who gave all she had only to be disappointed in the end. This goddess was a strong woman, and a kind one as well. She cared much for the human race, and wished to make these humans immortal. The goddess, however, was not powerful enough to gift them immortality by herself. One day, the goddess decided she would call upon her fellow deities and ask for the humans immortality. Once the council had gathered she stated her proposition; but much to her dismay, they all disagreed except one. The gods rallied together to state that the humans would try to rebel against them and become too powerful. One goddess remarked that she was foolish to believe humans wouldn't take advantage of their kindness. That they would soon forget about them to become their own gods. The one god that disagreed, finally said no to her ideas. After the meeting had commenced, the god traveled to the goddess's realm. They admitted that they agreed with her and would even help her. There was just one thing she had to do, and that was to go down to Earth to see if humans really deserved immortality. The goddess happily agreed and went to Earth. She disguised herself in human form as a traveler, and she started her path to find kind people. The first person she came across was a child, but this child was shoeless and seemed very unfortunate. She immediately gave her shoes to the boy, and he thanked her. A few days later, she would come across a young woman. This young woman was robbed and her only shirt was on her body, which was ripped and stained. The goddess, of course gave her shirt to the young women, and she now only had an undershirt. In the month to come she would come across a battlefield where men were, of course killing each other. A man had just lost his arm, so the deity transferred her arm to his own. Since she had given this man a part of her she could not form another as it was a part of her. The man was thankful and amazed that he had his arm back and told his comrades. A man in a wheelchair had his legs amputated and begged the goddess for legs, for he didn't want to be a military doctor because he wanted to be a soldier. She transferred her legs to him and then was given his wheelchair. She continued on her journey when she came across a woman who was depressed, and the goddess saw her soul was broken. She thought about it for a while but finally decided to give her soul to the woman. The goddess had given this woman a better life, as she did the people before her, but now she had nothing. So the goddess was pulled up by the other god, but the goddess was now vengeful. She gave everything to them, but later learned they would go on to commit heinous crimes. She didn't understand she had given them all she had. Without a soul she no longer had her kindness, only a cold and angry demeanor. The goddess was repaired by the council, as they felt pity for her. Humans would never gain immortality, and the goddess gifted the humans race shorter lifespans. With dedication to my sister and mom.
