She knew he was trouble.
Kai peeked one eye open when she finally heard the man turn the shower on in the bathroom, she slowly picked up her clothes and dressed herself while mentally scolding herself for the trouble she has gotten herself into. What have you done? She thought to herself. You don't even know the man. What if he was a murderer and killed you last night? What were you even thinking?
Her friend, Jen, was dumped by her boyfriend through a phone call and didn't showed up to their 3rd year anniversary date which he excused himself with a tight schedule due to his promotion and later on Jen discovered that her boyfriend was actually on a holiday trip with someone else in Japan. Truly, f****d up. That was when Kai found herself getting drunk with her friend at the bar and woke up to a bedroom she is not familiar with.
"I knew it was a bad idea!" she exclaimed to herself, pulling her hair in frustration.
As she was lost in her own thoughts, the man she was running from already got out of the shower just when she was about to twist the doorknob open.
"What was a bad idea?" He asked, brows up in question. Kai looked at him and wished the floor would open and just eat her up when her eyes shamelessly dragged itself all over the man's body.
Daniel definitely saw those eyes scanned him, his lips twitched to a smirk. Of course, no eyes could resist him. He reached for his wallet to give her his business card, Kai was looking at what he was about to do, eyes round in shock she hurriedly went closer to the unknown man, she grabbed his wallet and threw it across the room which caught him off guard. What the hell is this woman thinking?
"Excus-" Daniel was cut off when Kai started screaming.
"I AM NOT WHAT YOU THINK I AM! I AM DEFINITELY WORTH MORE THAN THE MONEY YOU ARE ABOUT TO PAY ME! HOW COULD YOU THINK LIKE THAT?" Kai was fuming angry. What does this guy think of her? Just because he is good looking, has a nice body, and expensive watch doesn't mean he could think so lowly of her. " Looks really aren't everything." She added before walking out.
She made sure she didn't leave anything behind though, or else it would be very much embarrassing to ask it from a guy she doesn't even know in the first place. To think that she slept in his home made her feel less of herself, who knows how many women he had been taking to his bedroom on the same bed?
"Ugggh!" She ruffled her hair in frustration as she stared out of the taxi's window. She can"t believe that she let herself get involved in a situation such as one night stands. She will never let it happen again, never.
That afternoon, Jen contacted her bestfriend with a huge excited grin on her face. She didn't expect a long face from Kai though. How could she have such a long face when she got herself a hot guy last night?
"Why the long face, Kai? Don't tell me he wasn't good in bed?" Jen scratched her chin in disappointment. "I expected a lot 'cause he got a pretty face." She clicked her tongue and shook her head.
"You knew about it? You let him take me?" Kai said, exasperated. Her memory of last night remained hazy. She was still trying to remember everything after drinking so much. "He almost paid me! He thought I was a prostitute! Do I even look like one?" Kai pouted, looking at her own reflection on her phone.
"He what?! How dare he! My friend looks so sophisticated! So did you walk out?" Jen pried and kai nodded. "But.. was he good?" With wriggled brows, Jen teased her friend. She's never gonna stop asking until she get the details she wanted to hear.
Kai always hated Mondays, she's either late or gets in trouble. Today she wasn't late and she's pretty sure she's gonna get in trouble later, she could feel it. There's something wrong about this day. It has already been two weeks ever since that incident but as much as she wants to forget about it, she can't. She's pretty sure she left her favorite stockings there. At that man's house, of all things, it was her stockings. What if he would think I'd want to do it again? Why am I in such embarassing situation?
"Hey, Kai.. can you bring the coffee at Mr. Lee's office? He has a guest with him and he seem kinda intimidating. Both of them, they share the same aura. You're the bravest here." Jen said, nudging her elbow. Everyone else in the office looks at her with hopeful eyes, she sighed. "Fine, fine. All of you owes me dinner!"
She knocked on the CEO's door before welcoming herself in with the coffee for both her boss and his guest. She's carefully placing the coffee on the table as the men continued to speak regarding their business. Curious, Kai looked up to see who the guest was and accidentally knocked off the cup she was holding in shock. WHY IS HE HERE? WHY DID SHE SPILL THE COFFEE, OF ALL THINGS, ON HIS BOSS' MILLION DOLLAR CARPET AND ON THAT MAN'S SHOES?
She knew Mondays weren't for her. She knew something was off.
