Chapter 1 Little One
Unknown POV I didn't ask to do this... I didn't want to do this... I never wanted this at all! "AHHHH!!" A scream of pain echoed in the dark night as rains of blood touched the grass. They forced me to do this! They forced me since I was... "created!" They forced me by the order of the master of their house! "AHHH!" More screams continued echoing in the forest, covering the ground black as darkness. Their master told me I must obey, never to disobey, as I am his property, his living weapon he created. A creation he and many others had collected to create a weapon to kill those who wronged them, threaten them, see them as they were worth nothing, and most of all..., to m******e the kingdom who executed the true ruler of their kind and for the union with their enemy. They are the creatures of the night, seeking humans as their prey for their blood, and known for their gifts and red eyes. They are vampires. I continued to kill, and kill, and kill, and kill, shouldn't leave a single soul alive. If there were survivors, their action would be discovered, and I would be punished, dearly. Those I killed were also vampires, but they were ordered to be killed, massacring everyone in the house who wanted to be gone, including children like me. I was forced to kill everyone, destroying another house and those who lived there, again. The bodies turned into dust and blown away by the wind, leaving some mixed in the grass. The clouds, tonight, had covered the moon as it blocked its light, shadowing me in darkness and the blood of the vampires on me. It merged with the clothes I wore, knowing they would have to be changed once we returned to the house after what they had to do here. I panted incredibly hard, unable to control my breathing and the rush from the killing I was forced to again. My hands shook so hard that my nails grew into claws each time I panted. I stood as I was being watched, feeling them waiting for me to complete the task so they could do why we came here. The members of this house had been massacred, and the vampires began gathering everything inside the house they were told to gather. Documents, money, valuables, whatever they are told to grab. They retrieved, then destroyed the house and the land to get evidence that they weren't there, along with the vampires who lived there. I stood where I was, ignoring them and mourning the deaths I killed. I didn't wish to kill them. Then I felt them. "Their" presence behind me as they came closer. The seneschal of their house and the witch who held control, along with her three sisters, were over me when I was told to go with the seneschal. I widened my eyes, forgetting to breathe in their presence, and the witch's magic as if she was chocking me with the curse around my neck. I couldn't move and my hands and arms shook violently, especially the seneschal with his eyes on me. I felt the curse and the magic flowing just as I felt her place her leash on me, sealing away my strength and gifts. She was preventing me from using my gifts and strength against them to escape or kill them. I could finally move my hands and clutched midair around my neck to feel the seal completely. I panted hard, able to breathe while shaking at the seal that I will never get used to. "Stay by the carriage. That's an order." He ordered me with his bright bloody red eyes, glaring down at me. I glared back with my eyes glowing and baring my canine fangs at him snarling. Yes, I have canine fangs. I was created like this, unlike others with their smooth teeth, but still bared fangs to drink blood. My teeth are similar to the beasts in the forest I have encountered. But these fangs aren't like regular beasts. I felt they were more than those I killed and hunted. Something other than vampire, but more. "You dared to snarl at those above you! You cursed beast!" The witch shouted in rage, lifting the magic chain in her hand that activated the curse around my neck. I screamed in pain, feeling the burn and the electricity that traveled all around me like I was on fire and struck by lightning. "You are nothing more than Lord Nikandros' weapon, a creation to kill anyone who comes his way, protect him who will assassinate him, and destroy the royal kingdom and restore what it supposed to be right! Know your place!" The seneschal shouted as he reminded me of what I am and what I was created for as his lord's weapon. I collapsed to the ground, still screaming, as I clutched my neck and felt the burn and the electricity all over my body. Later, I was tossed into the age that was attracted to the carriage with magic to drain any remaining strength in me and prevent me from escaping. I whined, curled into a ball, panting incredibly hard when the burn and electricity was gone to notice the restriction and seal on me had forgotten. Third Person POV Up north from the perished house, another house was found deep in the forest with mist surrounding the house and forest. Inside was a six year old girl with long dark silk hair and in a blue nightgown stood in front of the large glass wall. Her emerald green eyes stared after hearing a cry coming from the full moon. She heard the cry as if someone was calling her and in pain, as well as to her parents. A very bulky and tall man with dark should length hair and a pale skinned and very slim woman also with long dark silk hair stared out at the large glass window, also hearing the cry coming from the moon. Their eyes glowed with rage and determination to find whoever made those cries pay with their lives. His ice blue eyes glowed bright as he snarled dangerously, leaving her with her eyes glowing golden yellow. They knew the Moon Goddess was telling them to save someone who made that cry, but wondered why. Unknown POV I still lay in the cage, fighting the consciousness while ignoring the pains all over my body. I whined, struggling to move, as I glared at the vampire, watching them load what they had found. The witch stayed outside and helped with the loading with the use of her magic, as well as keeping an eye on me as she had the leash on me... also still forgotten about the restriction. I turned away, didn't want to see them, and wished I didn't want to be here anymore and escape this life and from them. I prayed and prayed and prayed to be free killed because I had enough. I don't want to do this anymore, no more killing, no more lives taken. I had enough I wanted this pain to go away and to be forever free from it, dead or alive. Suddenly, I heard a voice. A voice I don't know, but felt so familiar since the day I was created. The voice I had longed to hear again. The voice of a mother I wanted to wish to see and feel I belonged. "Your family is calling. They are waiting for you. Follow their calls. It's time to go home." Home? Family? I have a home and a family? A family... Then I heard her voice — her voice that gave me strength, and I'd longed to hear for a very... long... time. "Sister." Third Person POV The witch suddenly sensed a source of power and turned around to see it belonged to the toddler. Glaring furiously, she marched over and opened the cage, seeing her glance away as she felt her strength was returning. She reached in, still forgetting about the restriction, as if something blocked her memory from doing so. "I don't know what you are doing. But that is enough!" She gripped the bloody tunic, pulling her toward her, to be the biggest mistake. The toddler lifted her head just as her eyes were glowing with an enormous aura coming off her. Many vampires came to a halt and turned to the carriage, some dropping whatever they were holding. The toddler's eyes glowed bright icy blue and golden yellow with the white part turning black, and then... KA-BOOM!! The remaining vampires inside heard the explosion, along with the shake, and rushed outside to see their bloodkins had turned into ashes. They looked around to find the witch's unconscious body against the house with a crater where she crashed into. Some of them rushed over to check her condition, just as the seneschal stepped out of the house to see the unconscious witch, then to the cage to see the toddler was missing. One thing came to his mind... she had escaped, killing his bloodkins in the process. The toddler ran through the forest at incredible speed — on all fours, like the beast she was created to be. Her claws dug deep into the ground to push faster, following the sensation to where her family was, where her sister was. Elsewhere, the six year old girl was also found in the forest running into the forest, drawn to the presence she couldn't explain. It was a feeling she had been searching for when she was born, and now, she felt her. She felt a sister she had longed for, like she had carried centuries ago. Her parents came soon after, not long after the sensation, and received news that her daughter had run into the forest and her guards couldn't keep up with her. With that, they chased after her, finding her in the distance, but she was still far from them. They questioned how it was possible when she hadn't come of age, and yet, she showed speeds of both of her lineage in her. Most of all, she was heading in the direction where they felt the presence that the Moon Goddess had told them to go. Did the Moon Goddess send the presence to their daughter as well? Telling her also to go into the forest to find this presence? But why? Back to the toddler, a group of vampires were seen chasing after the toddler, fearing to be punished... worst killed, by their lord for letting her escape. Some of their bloodkins made the same mistake and were killed as their lord punished her for her attempted escape. They'd lived in countless fears, didn't want to be killed, no matter the excuses when it came to the toddler. In the end, they will be killed and nothing can save them with regard to her and her existence in the world. The toddler leaped over exposed tree roots, and then jumped over a boulder that revealed a small hill a couple of inches from the ground. That was when she felt the spark of her sister nearby. The dark-haired girl came out of the bushes from the right, feeling the spark to look up, meeting eyes with the toddler above her. The beasts inside of them howled of joy like they were apart for centuries ago, and finally reunited once again. The toddler noticed she was falling, unable to brace herself, when the dark-haired girl stood in front of her, catching her into her arms. They crashed into the ground and rolled down the small hill till they stopped at the small opening with the moonlight shining above them. The dark-haired girl sat up, ignoring the pain and numbness all over her body, as she stared at the toddler, full of overjoy in her eyes. In the moonlight, she could finally see her and see how exactly she looked like herself, minus the wounds and scars... and her mixed eyes, cyan blue and ruby red eyes. Other than she was hurt, she was here, again in her arms. This time, she won't let her go. She had lost her once, and she wouldn't let it happen again, she promised. "Hello, Sister." The dark-haired girl greeted the toddler with a smile, gently bumping her forehead against her. The toddler whined and reached her tiny hand, patting her cheek a couple of times to earn a giggle from her. They chuckled, giggled, and whined to each other, catching the attention of the parents' ears who heard their daughter had found who the sensation came from. They even caught the attention of the group, who heard the toddler had been seen, drenching in fears that she had been discovered by someone. The group of vampires quickly ran toward the girls, unaware that the parents were close by, to see the girls ahead and be seen by the parents. The girls interacted with each to be hit by an energy ball, sending them flying through the forest. They crashed into the ground, then three skipped after to be hit again, to be flown further and into the open field. They crashed again, leaving a deep drag mark and buried in the earth in the middle of the field. The dark haired girl had been holding onto the toddler when they were hit twice, leaving both of them unconscious with heavy injuries. The group of vampires stepped onto the open field and slowly approached, unaware of what they had done, with their eyes glowing bright yellow with the white part black. Their rages blinded their senses, blocking their awareness of their surroundings as they were too occupied with recapturing the toddler. They weren't even aware that the dark haired girl's parents had seen what they had done, harming their daughter, their princess of the united species. The moment his eyes fell upon his wounded daughter, the air itself had gone silent till a violent storm crushed the air in waves. His bright icy blue eyes, with the white part black, glowed with fury, carrying his wrath and rage that scared off all the nearby creatures. And even his teeth had changed into canine fangs as he drooled of saliva that poured between his fangs. Bones were heard cracking and breaking, and thunderous thumps were heard, echoing in the forest just as the moon shined on the creature with pure white fur. The group of vampires finally noticed his presence, didn't get a glimpse of the girls, to watch him appearing out of the tree lines. His thunderous paws boomed his way toward them, snarling dangerously and viciously, before chomping his enormous fangs into two vampires' necks. He ripped them off and quickly charged toward three others, swiping one of them with his claws and then charged forward to stab his other claws into his body. The third vampire couldn't make a move when he was quickly shredded in half, turning into dust once he touched the ground. One vampire with blonde hair stumbled backward, watching his bloodkins being killed right before his eyes, unable to do anything. Knowing he had no chance to defeat the creature of the moon, especially him, the Lycan, he must use this chance to take the toddler and run away before he could be killed. He had to warn the others that "they" were here in this part of the forest, as well, killing others with him. They mustn't know about the toddler. The vampire turned around, as he was the one closest to the girls, ready to grab the toddler, only to be frozen to see the princess with the toddler in her arms. He couldn't believe the luck they were in, the misfortunes to encounter, not just the princess, but the royal couple in the same forest as them. Suddenly, the ground split as thorn vines burst upward, coiling like serpents around the frozen vampire as he was trapped in its root claws. He turned his head to have his red eyes to see the queen of his kind had arrived, along with her beloved, her king of all beasts. He gulped hard, staring into her dominant bright golden yellow eyes with the white part black, just as he felt the presence behind him. He didn't need to know when he felt his breath breathing down his spins, shaking him to the core. The vampire's skin was unable to drain any more color as he slowly lifted his head up to see the Lycan above him. "Alpha of the Moon Howlers Pack, Alpha of all Alphas, the King of all Beasts. Loukas Ulfrad." He then slowly turned to find the queen by the girls' side, checking their injuries. "Master of Casa Trandafirilor, Executioner of Kings, the Unseen Echantress, the Deadly Nightshade Belladonna, the Nocturnal Saint." The queen lifted her head, glaring with a deathful glare as her eyes glowed brighter that she was in so much rage of the conditions of the girls' wounds. "Queen Camilla Castel IXth." At that moment, Loukas bit the vampire, ripping him in half, as he tossed the upper body to the side before bursting into dust in his mouth. He shifted back into his human form with blood stains from vampires he had killed, including around his mouth. He watched the dust blown away by the wind as he headed to where his daughter lay, with the presence the Moon Goddess sent them to search. "Loukas. Look." Loukas snapped back and rushed over to see what made my mate in alarm besides our daughter. "By the Goddess! What is this?!" He shouted in bewilderment at what he and his Luna were seeing. Queen Camilla Loukas, Lord Cedric, the lord of this house that my king, my daughter, and I were visiting, the House of Maddoc, and I were gathered around the bed that my daughter was assigned. Curtains covered the window as the light of the sun was seen beneath the curtains and had risen. The first light made known the moment Loukas and I had returned to the house after we had retrieved our daughter, found the source of the call, and dealt with the trespassers who thought to harm our daughter. Both she and the child were given to the healers, as both of them were gravely injured, especially the child, whose wounds were found so severe that no child could ever survive, let alone endure. But she did. Yes, the child is a girl. She endured and survived whatever tragedy happened to her. The child had enormous scars all over her body and the healers also found a sign of burn marks, as well, but not visible to see. Broken bones and damaged internal organs were also discovered, but magically healed, as I sensed a faint of healing magic in those injuries. The healers couldn't do much and treated what they could heal in front of them. I sat on the edge of the bed, dapping the wet towel into a bowl of cold iced water, as I wiped the sweat off the child. She panted and wheezed, unable to breathe, with an incredible high fever. The healers believed she had developed a fever after her body had finally given in from what she was running from and was able to rest from whatever she had been through. Her clothes were covered in blood, let alone that she hadn't been bathed, seeing she could be a slave to whatever houses she escaped from. Those clothes were thrown in the air, right after Lord Cedric caught a familiar scent and found those blood believed in the house down south, the House of Prudentius. Lord Cedric will have his enforcers sent out till nightfall to know why the child was at Prudentius House and why she had their blood on her. His enforcers could also gather why the vampires who harmed the children were coming in that direction when they didn't belong in these woods. Loukas killed those vampires, leaving no trace of them as they had harmed our daughter, their princess. He refused to let anyone walk away without facing the consequences for harming his daughter... and the child. He showed no mercy to any of them. We waited in Lord Cedric's office during the meantime, then heard the healers had finished treating the girls' wounds with the reports of their injuries. Our daughter sustained minor burns, but broken bones with a concussion, relief that she would be alright. But the child—, she had multiple injuries of many kinds, her condition so dire we couldn't even grasp the full extent of her injuries. We were all stunned that she was alive this long, having survived with these kinds of injuries. Multiple broken bones, heavy bruises, scars from old to new from kinds of torture and abuse, or punishment. From what I can observe, I even found magic radiation all over her, especially the magical ritual collar around her neck. A thin, seamless band of dark ink encircles the base of her neck with a small diamond or teardrop-shaped sigil. A witch is involved, but why? I pulled away and gently stroked their heads, observing their injuries, most of all the child... who looked exactly like my daughter — like myself. Same bone structures, but her body appeared more like a predator than a normal body like us. She may have the same appearance as myself, but appeared more like a beast, a Lycan, as I sensed the Lycan running through her, along with a vampire gene. But not any Lycan and vampires, a "royal" Lycan and vampire, like Loukas and I. The healers also mentioned how great malnutrition, as well as dehydration, making her much smaller and more weak than my daughter when she was her age. Seeing how small and skin to the bone from life she had endured, it was understandable. What I didn't expect was the healers didn't notice a very light blue pattern on her face. How did they miss that? Even Lord Cedric didn't notice the pattern on the child's face. Loukas noticed the pattern, shocked as I was, since no one in this house noticed the pattern. I traced the pattern, thinking what houses could do something this terrible and horrible action toward a child who isn't barely three. Whoever does this, they will pay the consequences for their actions, with their lives. Both the vampires and the witch were involved with their crimes. Whoever they are, they will pay. I continued following the pattern when I woke her, causing her to stir and open her eyes weakly and tired. She whined, exactly whined, as she opened her eyes with her left eye half open since it was swollen. She struggled to breathe with the fever still high, panting incredibly hard and heavily, before turning her head in confusion about where she was and who I was. I gently smiled, leaning over to the table to drench the towel back into the bowl of ice-cold water. "It's alright, Little One. You are safe now." I soothed her as I leaned over to rub her face with the towel, cleaning off the sweat on her forehead. She flinched with a soft whine at how cold the towel was while I continued to wipe off the sweat before putting the towel back in the bowl. I observed her, watching her, as she continued to whine and look around. Doubtfully she could see her surroundings due to her fever blinding her vision. I knew my own body and don't remember giving birth to another daughter. So, where did she come from? Why does she look exactly like my daughter and I? And most of all, why does she have the same aura as my beloved and I in her veins? The child tried to sit up, despite the fact that she was heavily injured. "Wow, easy there, Pup. Don't try to move around." Loukas quickly stepped forward, stopping her as he pushed her back to the bed so gently and not forceful. She glared, pouting, that she was being pushed back onto the bed. "Don't make that face. It was for your own good. You are still healing from your wounds." I said in a nurturing voice, scratching her left cheek to listen to her whine... with her showing her fangs? What? I heard a growl and watched how Loukas reacted, seeing her teeth as sharp fangs. I could sense the beast in him as he reacted like he was meeting an Alpha like himself. I, of course, touched her fangs, feeling that they were her true teeth, although they weren't just normal fangs, but something else. The child growled and weakly pulled away, opening her eyes wide enough to reveal her cyan blue and rose red eyes, which I would say are very rare. "Incredible. Heterochromia eyes." Lord Cedric mumbled, approaching to see closely, only to stir the child to his presence with snarls. I turned my head and eyed him, saying, "Step back. Now," as I watched him take a couple steps back. The child slowly regained control and her breathing, but the fever had spiked again. Loukas and I stared into her eyes, as she stared into ours, and suddenly felt a connection between us. Loukas told me that Lycans could form a parental bond with orphan pups, but never heard anything like this before. Her eyes soon glowed, changing color to ice blue and golden yellow eyes. They released auras of the royal Lycan and vampire, proving she isn't just a regular child, but a hybrid just like our daughter. It causes our eyes to glow and change, as well, fusing the connection, a bond, of the parents to their child, unaware of the change in her. "You are one very special little one I have ever met." I whispered as I rubbed her left cheek with my thump, watching her lean into my touch as she whined. As I pulled away, she gripped my middle finger—surprising me with the strength she’d regained. Her tiny hand clung tightly, as if afraid to let go, her eyes wide with a fear she couldn’t name. She didn’t seem to understand what she was feeling, only that she didn’t want it to end. I smiled softly then scratched her cheek before patting her head gently. "You are safe, Little One." I leaned forward to give a gentle kiss on her forehead. "We won’t let anyone hurt you again. I promise." I said, making a vow, as I rubbed my forehead against her, earning a whine from her. My daughter, suddenly awakened, heard the little one's soft whine and gently pulled her closer, wanting her to sleep as she was still recovering. The little one rolled to her side, burying her face in my daughter's arms as sleep took over her. Loukas chuckled and leaned against me, wrapping me in his warmth. We smiled at the sight—our daughter, so young, already fiercely protective of her. "Camilla seemed protective of the pup." Loukas whispered as he didn't want to wake up the girls, just as I nodded, agreeing. I quietly stood up, pulling the thick duvet up a little before giving them a kiss on their heads. I told Lord Cedric we would discuss this matter later tonight as it was still early morning outside. Loukas and I changed out of our clothes with him in his trousers and I in my silk night gown. We slipped into bed with the girls, couldn't leave them alone since there were those who were still after the little one. The girls slept between us with Loukas behind our daughter while I was behind the little one. I pulled the girls close to me while my beloved pulled us closer to him as he drifted into slumber. He shielded the girls with his right arm protectively, leaving me to close my eyes when I suddenly heard movement. I reopened my eyes to watch the little one rolling to my side, rubbing her head against my chest till she gave a long stretch like a canine with a big yawn. I giggled softly and leaned closer to her and my daughter, closing my eyes finally with a smile on my face. Third Person POV Elsewhere, a woman was spotted in the forest, not too far from Maddoc House. Her gown of light mist shined under the light of the sun with the fabric shimmered between silver, white, and pale blue. Her pale blue eyes stared at the house, sensing the toddler had finally reunited with her family, with her sister, at last. She could finally breathe, knowing she was safe and reunited with her family, but felt dreadful that her fate had just begun. "You can sleep now, child. Your time hasn't yet come, as your fate had only begun." That's all she said, walking away to disappear out of thin air.
