Chapter 13The next morning, I woke sprawled on the sofa with a blanket draped over me. I perched up on my elbows and looked around for the two men I’d fallen asleep on the sofa with. Neither of them was to be found. Disappointment filled me like a black hole and I sat up to find a piece of paper on the coffee table before me. The note read: Hey Ree-Ree, we didn’t want to wake you because you looked so peaceful. Had to go to work. We’ll call you tonight. Love L & D xx I was glad to know they hadn’t just skipped out on me after the conversation we’d had the night before, but also disappointed that I hadn’t gotten to wave them off on their way to work. For a moment I wondered whether I had missed my own alarm for work but then it hit me. It was a Sunday. The office wasn’t open on a Sunday.
