With everyone awake and a semi-plan formed, we decided it was time to make our move. The sooner we left, the sooner we got out of here, the sooner we could get home.
"Zoey, I want you to stay by me," my father said as he got behind one of his men.
"Of course."
We slowly made our way out of the room we were in, careful in each of our movements. We did not want the acai to know we were awake or trying to escape. The one thing that bugged me the most was how slow they were. I get being careful, but honestly, this was ridiculous. It took ten minutes to get from room to room and, at this rate, we would be caught.
I grabbed my father's arm and said, "At this rate they will know we have left because, with how slow we are moving, they will know we are gone. We need to teleport out."
My father looked at me and nodded his head. "We need to know how many are here and make sure they don't follow us."
I groaned and shut my eyes. "Then some of us should stay behind while the others get the intel."
"Zoey follow the plan," he said as he looked away from me.
I watched as my father went into the next room when suddenly there was a loud noise. The noise was so loud that the warrior standing behind me covered his ears and fell to his knees just like I did. Even with my hands over my ears, the sound was penetrating through them, causing everything around me to go black.
When I woke up, I heard chanting and saw the acai chanting around me. I looked around and saw several warriors hanging from the walls with blood dripping from their bodies. I tried to sit up but I was chained in place.
The chanting grew louder and suddenly one of the acari stood in front of me and began to use a brush to flick something at me. Whatever it was began to burn my skin, causing me to scream out in pain as he kept doing this.
"Zoey," I heard my father scream, causing me to turn my head and look for him. When I spotted him, I couldn't help but let out a scream. Suddenly, I felt a large amount of liquid being poured on my skin and I felt nothing but pain.
Everything around me didn't exist, only the pain did. No matter how much I tried to move, the pain kept coming but my wolf came forward.
'Let me take the pain,' my wolf said.
'Okay.'
For the first time in a long time, I let my wolf come forward and I felt myself begin to change. The snapping of bones and the chains I could suddenly hear. The pain was still there but not as much and I felt a new energy.
I opened my eyes and looked at the monster in front of me, dumping the liquid on me and growled.
"Zoey," my father yelled. I looked at him. "You can only kill them by ripping their heads off." I nodded and lunged at the monster in front of me. I began ripping through each one of them even though they tried to fight me, but they didn't stand a chance. Once the last one was done, I walked over to my father and changed back into my human form. As I began to change, I thought about a pair of jeans and a shirt and they appeared on me.
"Nice trick," my dad said and I smiled.
"Thanks."
"How do you feel?" He asked.
"Weak now that I have changed back."
"You will be. Do you have enough energy to break the chains on me?"
I nodded and reached up. I touched his arm and felt a huge surge of power flow through me. The energy was so great that I flew back and hit the wall. My world went black.
"Zoey, wake up. Wake up Zoey," I heard someone say.
I opened my eyes slowly and saw my father in front of me.
"Thank god. Are you okay?" He asked.
"What happened?"
"I'm not sure but that power surge gave me strength. How do you feel?" He asked as he helped me stand up.
"Sore and drained."
"Not what I wanted to hear, but we will make it work."
My father scooped me up into his arms and said, "Time to go. I am not wasting anymore time down here."
"I agree sir," a man said.
"Everyone touch me and lets go."
I watched as his men walked up to him and suddenly the dark room began to vanish and field began to appear. I looked at my father and closed my eyes.
-Sorry for the delay. Life has been crazy. Several storms that have led to power outages. We have had three outages this month alone. More updates to come soon.
