Bella returned from the restaurant with enough food to feed an entire army. Hanson met her at the door offering to help her. She accepted handing him one of the backs. She noticed he looked a little off but figured he would talk about it if it was important. So, they made their way to the kitchen to have dinner.
As they placed the food on the kitchen counter Hanson jokingly asked "Did you buy the menu?" Bella smiled saying "No, I wasn't sure what you liked and I am really hungry."
They sat down at the table to eat surrounded by boxes. After a few moments Hanson spoke up saying "Bella I need to tell you something." Samson was in the back of their mind listening. He and Hanson had already discussed the ramifications of this conversation. Samson was simply trying to keep Xavia calm as they spoke.
Bella gave him a curious look as she said "Okay" He took a deep breath then continued "Samson told me something earlier that you have a right to know." Bella looked even more confused. Mainly because Xavia was hiding in the back of their mind. Xavia had never hidden from her, this must be serious. Bella nodded for him to continue. "There is a chance you're going to have to kill your father. Samson told me that unless he has changed he is going to betray us." Bella sat in stunned silence as she tried to listen to the rest of what he had to say. Hanson continued saying "He has appearantly always been selfish. The war that is coming could wipe out all werewolves. He will try to save himself by becoming a traitor."
After a long moment of silence Hanson reached across the table placing his hand on top of Bella's. When her sad gray eyes met his, he could tell she was trying not to cry. He wished he hadn't had to tell her but as he said she needed to know. She stood from the table as if on auto pilot. Beginning to clean up she finally spoke saying "Alright, well I am finished. I think I am going to take a shower and get in bed." Hanson stood too before saying "I'll take care of this you go ahead."
Bella gave him a half hearted smile as she thanked him. Then headed for the bedroom. Xavia began whimpering in the back of their mind. She wanted to go back in time and tell Bella herself. The emotional pain Bella was feeling hurt Xavia because she knew it was her fault. She only hoped Bella could forgive her.
They spent the next day moving boxes and furniture to a storage unit. Bella was only going to take what she would need for her time in Nebraska. The rest would be stored until they came back. Hanson tried to take her mind off of what they had discussed the night before. Bella was still quiet though.
Part of her understood why she was so upset while another part of her was trying to convince herself she shouldn't care. On top of that her mind was mulling over something far more important. She would be meeting Hanson's pack soon. It might be best for them both if she was at least baring his mark when she did.
As they loaded the final boxes into their cars Bella turned to Hanson saying "We should mark each other before we leave." Hanson had a stunned look on his face as he asked "What" that was the last thing he expected her to say. Bella became nervous did he not want to. Was this all just an elaborate joke he was playing. Her mind was racing as she tried to figure out how to explain. Fidgeting a bit she said "I just mean, it would help if I were baring your mark when we arrived. That way your pack would be more likely to accept me."
Hanson gave her a sly grin as he responded "Oh yeah, we can do that." Bella relaxed smiling as she said "Okay" Hanson had simply been waiting for Bella she obviously had no idea how much he wanted her. Though, he could somewhat understand considering all she'd been through. He would spend the rest of his life proving to her that she was all he wanted.
Bella had been so nervous about bringing it up that once he agreed she felt a hundred pounds lighter. There was still a part of her that was afraid it was all a game to him but the larger part of her knew that she could trust him. He had told her about her father after all. That was something he could have kept to himself. Now her only concern was the fact that for their marks to take they would have to be having s*x. He knew what he was doing. She had no idea what she was supposed to do. The idea that he may not want her afterward was causing an entirely new storm of emotions inside her.
