Chapter Twelve

Bella woke up the next morning slightly sore. She attempted to pull away from Hanson so she could use the bathroom. He only tightened his grip. Bella shook him slightly saying "Hey, I need to go to the bathroom." Hanson grumbled but let her go asking "How are you feeling?" She gave a soft smile replying "I'm fine, just a little sore."
Hanson frowned slightly before sitting up and rubbing his eyes. Bella climbed out of bed going straight to the bathroom. After using the toilet she stood at the sink preparing to brush her teeth when she saw her reflection in the mirror. Bella gasped at the tattoo that had appeared over night. It ran from the spot Hanson had marked all the way down here right arm.
The tattoo began with a wolf standing on a mountain under a full moon along her neck and shoulder. Her arm, however, was covered in a language she didn't recognize written in calligraphy. As beautiful as it was Bella didn't understand why it was there. So, she asked Xavia 'What is this?' Xavia looked as shocked as a wolf possibly could. As she linked Samson saying 'Get in here now. You have to see this.'
Bella was still trying to get an answer out of Xavia when Hanson rushed in looking around for an intruder. "What's going on?" he asked looking panicked. Bella sighed saying "Everything is fine. I am just trying to figure out where this tattoo came from. I would also like for Xavia to answer my question."
Hanson looked her over seeing the tattoo. He had never seen anything like it. Xavia finally responded to Bella saying 'This is amazing. The goddess has chosen us. Look at Hanson's left arm.' She turned to look with confusion written all over her face.
Hanson's tattoo was nearly identical to hers. The only difference was the words were written in italic rather than calligraphy. Seeing the look on her face Hanson followed her line of sight shocked at what he saw. Bella asked Xavia 'What does it mean and what have we been chosen for?'
Xavia preened as Bella and Hanson stared at each other blankly. Meanwhile Samson was practically dancing a jig inside he and Hanson's mind. Finally, Xavia answered 'We will be enternally bonded. We are not immortal but when Samson and I are needed you will return as well.'
Bella gasped loudly saying "What, why, how?" Hanson asked what was going on so Bella explained what Xavia had told her. They were both floored at the news. Bella asked Xavia if she knew what the words said to which Xavia responded 'It is an ancient incantation. I don't know the exact language but I have heard it spoken once before in Greece. It is a call to the soul. Our souls are now permanently linked to this body. Should we die our bodies will remain in a form of stasis until we are needed again.'
As Xavia spoke Bella repeated every word out loud for Hanson. Neither of them knew what to say. Why, would the goddess do this. Why would it matter what body they had. So many questions ran through her mind. She forgot about brushing her teeth.
They finally collected themselves after a few long minutes. Once they had showered and gotten dressed they left for Nebraska. The trip took two days. They took their time stopping at a motel over night in Utah. The closer they came to the pack boarder the more anxious Bella became. Hanson tried his best to reassure her that everything would be fine. Promising that no matter what he would never let her go.
They reached the pack boarder late Monday night. So Hanson linked Joey to meet them out front. When they arrived at the pack house he gently shook Bella to wake her up. She sighed as she slowly opened her eyes. "We're here." Hanson told her. Bella sat up instantly trying to adjust herself. She couldn't believe that she had actually fallen asleep.
Hanson climbed out of the car waving to a tall dark haired man standing on the porch as he walked around to open Bella's door. The man on the porch looked confused when Bella stepped out of the car. He obviously didn't know she was coming which only increased Bella's nervousness.
As they approached the porch Hanson introduced them saying "Bella, this is my beta Joey Ashford. Joey this is my mate Isabella Donavon." Joey was stunned he wondered why Hanson hadn't told him that he had found his mate. So, he asked "Why didn't you tell me you found your mate. Heather is going to lose her s**t. You know I'm never going to hear the end of this." Hanson simply laughed saying "Your mate your problem. Come on I'll explain everything in the morning. We need some sleep. Also I need to call a pack meeting tomorrow. We need to introduce the Luna." Joey responded "Sure thing boss." then taking Bella's hand he ignored Hanson's growl as he said "It's nice to meet you Luna. My wife is going to be so happy to meet you. When you're ready of course." Bella simply smiled and nodded as she said "It's nice to meet you too. I am sure I'll meet everyone tomorrow."
They said their good nights, heading to bed. Bella was still exhausted from the trip. So when they entered their room she didn't even take in everything around her. She simply got undressed and fell into bed beside Hanson. Both were asleep before their heads hit the pillow.
The next morning Hanson woke up to an empty bed. He and Samson both lost their minds. He immediately linked Bella asking 'Where are you? Are you okay?' Bella immediately responded chuckling through their link 'We're fine babe. We didn't want to wake you up. So, we're in the kitchen having coffee with Heather.'
Hanson relaxed linking back 'You scared me. I'm on my way down.' Bella laughed, 'Did you think we ran away?' she asked. Hanson grumbled pulling on his pants as he responded 'No'
He made his way to the kitchen. Only to find Bella and Heather laughing at something. He kissed Bella on her right temple saying "Good morning" before heading to the coffee maker. Bella smiled replying "Good morning, babe." then she asked "Did you sleep well?" Hanson was about to reply when Joey walked in saying "I scheduled the pack meeting. Everyone should be here in about an hour." Hanson thanked him saying "Bella and I will get ready. Let's meet in my office in thirty minutes. Make sure Brandon is their too."
Joey assured they would be there and they all went their separate ways.
