57. Beast

I looked into his dark eyes, boring holes into me. Challenging me. I could feel my heart racing, my chest rising and falling. He was cold, he was angry, I could see he was broken. I was scared, but not of him. I was scared of the person I was when I was with him.  A person I didn’t recognize, a person I was afraid I could never be out in the real world. He wanted me to cower away, I could see he was trying to intimidate me. Trying to make me flee, trying to push me away. But the girl in front of him didn’t flee. The girl who had started to exist when she met him wouldn’t run, she would give back to him everything he had thrown at her. For I was broken too.
