Chapter 7 Confirmation

“Coffee! How in the world is that here?” I scoffed. I hadn’t drunk that addicting liquid since forever! Mia knowingly shrugged, and answered easily, “Isn’t that easy to guess? I knew the basic method and for the rest, I left it to Noah.” She said, as if her explanation was unnecessary. I breathed and hungrily looked at the coffee along with some chocolate biscuits.   It looked delicious and as I wolfed it down my throat, another muscular figure appeared in the doorway, holding other sheets, making me determined easily. “Hey, hey, hey, you know you’re not leaving easily, right? We’ve got a bunch of things to speak about.” Noah confirmed it. “Fine, let’s just start already!” I pouted while looking at the two twins. They chuckled after hearing that, making the mood loosen up. “Alright, then…” he looked at me seriously, then spoke again, “let’s start.” Immediately they lifted their fingers up, allowing wind to be at their command. The charts and statistics assembled straight, then re-organized themselves. All the while, I looked up in amazement while they did their part. It looked amazing as well as handy. “Alright, we’ll start with my research,” Mia announced. “This country- also known as Altan, - has one of the most thriving economies, it’s just that it adapts the oligarchic system. I’ll explain what it is later, alright?” She said eyeing me as I shot my hand up. Looking at her, I lowered it as she went on, “Well, although this system has its advantages, it can be considered a failure if wars develop. And that’s pretty much what’s happening.” “The subject of my research, however, is pretty different from Mia. While she searched the general situation, I converted it something slightly more easier to understand, look.” He held a stick indicating the bell curves and the increase and decrease of trademarks. “Look at this, as soon as it all started, the trade kept going down which obviously means the downfall of the middle class and low class.” “They were surviving on these traders, and as soon as they became rare, the people started inheriting diseases and illnesses which are unknown. And according to our world’s research, it’s easy to know though what they are.” He shot him a look as if he could see straight through me. “Sanitation, pneumonia and cholera,” I answered, recalling the symptoms I noticed earlier when I was walking. A loud bang came from around the corner, but I didn’t flinch. “Exactly!!” they looked at each other, and it was easy to tell that they were glad I was picking on. Then as if all that was just the preview, they looked at me intensely and sighed in the same breath. It was amazing how similar these two could be! “Ryder’s here too. And I think you might have just missed him.” “What?!?!?!?!” I couldn’t believe my ears. Ryder, that Ryder is here too!! Then I questioned and tried one more of my suspicions. “Are all of us---?” But I couldn’t finish. At that exact time, a bomb exploded. Debris and small jutted rocks surrounded us and everything was in a mess. I looked around. Everything was starting to turn black and my hearing was becoming worse by the minute. I couldn’t see anything except pieces of wood falling, fire burning the place, everything a mess, but one thing shot straight to my eyesight. Something was shining in the sky above, and it was almost impossible to make it out. Suddenly I remembered. That hair, that face, his hands, but especially his eyes. They were that same ocean blue colour. But there was something different about him. He was holding some sort of object that caused a massive impact. He looked bad. He didn’t look like how she had seen him before. He looked………evil. He managed to glance at me and as soon as he did so, I was being lifted up from the ground slowly. I couldn’t understand what was happening. But one thing’s for sure. I was gonna get out of this and that would….be….right….now!!!!!
