Angel or mate?

Matt drives down the lane towards the pack house in his car. An awfull smell hits him ROGUES!!! He mindlinks everyone. He jumps out of the car and shift to his wolve Thor. Thor runs fast towards the smell. He is followed by the guards, and soon Jacks wolve Ralf and Robs wolve, Leo are along side him. They run to where the smell seems to be coming from. He sees his fathers huge grey wolve Raven standing tall and looking over the sight. By his side is his mothers wolve Goldie. The young wolves comes up along side them and stops. 

7 rogues are laying on the ground. They are all dead. "How did you get here so fast and kill them all?" Thor asks. Raven looks at him: "Angel killed them while protecting our pack!" Raven nods towards the trees and there in the trees 8 scared kids are sitting, holding on for dear life. They all quickly shifts back to their human forms and get dressed. Wyatt, one of their greatest fighters runs over to the kids. There is a smell of blood, wet and filthy fur a long an awesome smell the air. Matt looks around. "Where is Angel?" His mother smiles and says: "She only comes when we are in need of her!"

Lilly shouts: "Dad!" and lets go of the branch she has hold on to. Wyatt catches her. She cries. All the kids start to cry. They are in shock. The females all comes running when hearing the rogues tried to attack the kids. Matt gives the parents the next couple of days off to care for their young. The kids don´t know what happen or who Angel is.

The high ranking members are setting at the dinner table. All quiet. Matt looks at his parents. He has so many questions but know they will not tell him everything. He needs to figure it out on his own, like always. They always taught him and his sister that they needed to figure things out for themselves not taking anyones words for the truth. Explore everything and then with all the facts known to them make a decision. He signs and says: "I wonder how the hell they got through our security system?" Rob looks at him and signs: "The fence has been cut and the power redirected away from the hole making it look like the system was all good. I have sent four teams out to search for any other holes or anything else!""So you are telling me that these rogues have planned for the attack or just really lucky?" Shelly snarls. "Well I have order their bodies to be burned near our borders so the smell will intimidate other rogues. Just in case" informs Jack. The silence sets in again. All thinking about the attack and how the rogues made it so far before they got stopped by Angel. Who ever that is.

Matt gets up and leaves the others. He goes to his office. He sits down at the desk. Today he felt something else too. A scent he hasn´t smelled since he was a kid himself. It warmths his heart, he sences the heat spread throughout his body. It´s the scent of his mate. He knew from the first time he met her that she is his mate. She saved him and his sister from some hunters when he were 6 years old. She then again saved him when he was 13 from a bear. A stupid dare at the class camp and he nearly lost his life. When he looked into her eyes he knew she knew it too. They are mates. He has looked everywhere for her but to no use. He even started to date other she-wolves so he didn´t feel so lonely. But they never lasted, except one. They were together for 2 years. He even told her that he loved her and she loved him back, until the day she met her mate. He didn´t wanted to stay in the way of that and let her go. Sometimes his mate lets him see through her eyes. He has make paintings of what she sees. But she never lets him see her face. He signs. Is this Angel really his mate? Or is he just imagining it because he can´t find his real mate? He gets up and goes to his study where he sits down infront of a blank canvas. He takes some paint and starts to draw on the canvas.

Kim is waken up by her phone ringing 4 am. "Yeah?" "We have a lead. Get your gear we are rolling out by 5 am tomorrow!" The voice on the other end is the second in command in her squad. She knows what that means. She rolls over and starts to head towards the bathroom. She notices that the guards are walking around in pairs and are checking the fence. She thinks to herself: "Wonder what they are looking for?"

She takes a quick shower before getting dressed. She takes her coffee and breakfast out to the garden. She sits in her usual spot. She sits and relax a bit before some very hectic days ahead of her. She returns to the house after a while. She packs a backpack and gets out to her car. "Is everything alright?" She asks. The guards look at her and smiles. "Yeah just making sure that the fence is still strong. Are you going somewhere?" The guard nods to her bag. "Yeah I am sent off on another assignment with my squad so I don´t know when I will be at home yet. Would you be kind enough to look after my house while I am gone?" "Sure, no problem!" After they heard she had saved two members from the pack every single one in the pack have a deep respect for her in a whole other way. They will protect her as well as she now is hero to them. She thanks them. Kim drives off.
