“Love was love, one could find it with anyone, one could find it anywhere. It was just that you could never keep it. Not unless you were ready to die for it.”
 – Norman Mailer   Evelyn’s POV    “That b***h, I'll kill her if I find her!”   Uncle has smashed another expensive Japanese artefact. He is now in a great rage, and the whole family is breathing carefully.   "Since Debby doesn't want to make a marriage, we’d better not to force her anymore." My father tried to persuade uncle, but this time he failed again.   "To give up? Should we give up the chance to make things right with the Cameron family?" Uncle's eyes seemed to fire. All the time, in his heart, the interests of the family will always be more important than the family numbers.   My father coughed again. It looked as if he had caught a cold. I handed my father a glass of water and told him to sit down and rest. At that moment, my uncle suddenly turned to look at me. His expression changed from angry to unreadable, even with a hint of joy. No one has ever looked at me that way, and it's very uncomfortable.   "Evelyn, please wait outside the room. I need to talk to your father." A very bad presentiment grew in my heart, but I could only follow uncle's words and leave the room. I had no idea what they were talking about and could only pace anxiously back and forth in the doorway. After a while, a quarrel voice between uncle and father came from the room. This is strange. Although most of the time, father does not approve of uncle's decisions, but never quarrel with him. Something must have happened to make my father very angry.   The quarrel in the house became more and more terrible, and I became increasing nervous outside the door. Suddenly there was the sound of broken glasses in the room, and then it was all over, followed by a terrible silence.   After a while, my father came out. He looked at me and his eyes filled with sadness.   'What's the matter, Dad?”   Dad avoided my eyes, like a child who has done something wrong.   'I'm sorry Evelyn, I failed to protect you. Your uncle asked you to marry Lance Cameron instead of your sister.'    What? Marry me to Lance Cameron?   3:00 AM, Private Garden Villa, Richmond, London   In my dreams, I felt drifting on the sea one more time.   Why did I fall into this dream again?   The man in my dream appeared again. As before, he had the figure and face of a amazing Greek sculpture and the air of arrogance and indifference. He came up to me and touched my body.   Who are you? Can you take me with you?   I asked him for help. I didn't want to marry Lance Cameron. I also want to find My Mr. Right.   But the man didn't seem to hear me. He continued to stroke me and slowly became aggressive. Wait!Although this is a dream, it doesn't mean he can do this to me! Just as I was about to rebel him, the man suddenly stopped, took my hand, and put a ring on my finger.   Why?   Still without a word, he turned away. But as he walked away, I saw a smile on his haughty face.   Did he smile?   Suddenly I woke up with a tremble. This time I became more confused. I looked down at the ring finger of my left hand. It was empty now, but I felt something strange, as if I had just put a ring on it.   Why did that man show up all the time? Who the hell is he?   These questions can only be kept in my head, and no one can give me the answers.   I got out of bed and went to the window. The night was tender, and the roses downstairs were blooming beautifully, as if they could release all their charm without any worry. This is really an enviable thing. I think of Debby, the timid girl who cried a lot. She had the courage to run away from home for love. It seems that love can really make a person full of courage.   Will Debby be happy?   If one of us has to take responsibility for the family and marry Lance Cameron, I hope it's me. I don't want to see Debby lose her happiness. She should be a happy bride instead of a crying one.   Happiness, especially in marriage, is a gift from God. But I still believe that people can get happiness by giving.   The future shouldn't be so bad, right?   4:00 PM, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles   Lance’s POV   Luxurious iron gate opening one by one, a longer version of the Rolls-Royce heading along the road, and stopped in front of a splendid house. The chauffeur, dressed in a high uniform, got out and opened the door for the boss respectfully. A pair of Italian hand-made leather shoes came out firstly. The butler, standing outside the villa waiting for the boss, straightened the Cameron badge on his chest and greeted him.   "Your grandmother is already waiting in the drawing-room. Your bedroom has been cleaned and your meeting materials have been placed in the study in the order you requested."   The butler gave the man a nervous look as he got out of the car, worried that he was dissatisfied with his work in any way. Fortunately, the man just nodded and continued to stride into the villa with a straight face.   The butler looked after the man in relief. Although the man is only 26 years old this year, this man has conquered everyone in the family with his determination and ability. He is, admittedly, a good-looking man, with deep, flaxen-colored short hair, sharp eyes and seductive lips under a high nose.   But no one dared to look directly at him, and few saw him smile. It is said that he hasn’t laughed since the tragedy happened ten years ago. Originally, he was a happy middle school student, enjoying the love from his family. An explosion took the lives of his father and brother, and his mother died soon after. He became an unsupported orphan suddenly. He is still a Member of the Cameron clan, but only to see the family's power usurped by his uncle.   But now he is different. After 10 years of living alone, he has become ruthless and capable. He took back his rights and held the position of power only one year after returning to the family. He doesn't feel love in his life. Fortunately, he had his grandmother by his side, who was now the dearest and most important person in his life.   He's Lance Cameron. Today his grandmother asked him to go home at once, saying there was an urgent matter to tell him. This is not like grandma's usual style, although a little confused, but he still put off the meeting, came to grandma as soon as possible.
