Chapter Nine

I was completely shocked by everything that happened while questioning Malik. It seemed like she needed some space to process everything, so I decided to give her the spare room next to mine so she could get a good night's sleep. I wasn't sure that I could keep my hands off her for much longer, everything about her lured me in. It seemed like she was disappointed in my decision for her to stay in the next room and when we got to the room and I went to say good night to her, she pulled away from me. I thought maybe she was still processing whatever she saw, so I left her alone and went back down to the kitchen with Liam.

When he saw me walk back in, he was shaking his head. "Man, sometimes you are so dumb", he laughed. "What are you talking about?" "I love you, you’re my brother, but dang, did you not see how upset she was that you pushed her off into the guest room?" I started to regret my decision immediately. "She needed you even if it was just to hold her and comfort her and you just pushed her off like it didn't matter." "That wasn't my intention at all Liam, and you know that.

I was trying to give her space; I completely upended her life." He looked at me with a knowing smile, "Did you ask her whether or not she wanted space?" I immediately was cursing myself and knew that I messed up. What if she thought that I wasn't that interested in her, especially after what I did in the library? I knew that I had to fix this before it turned into something much bigger. I couldn't let her think that I didn't care for her because I did and more than I ever thought would be possible.

I didn't know anything about her at all, but I was determined to change that. My life before consisted of missions and that was it, but this woman made me want more. I said good night to Liam and headed upstairs. I hesitated at my door but decided that I was not going to sleep without her next to me. She might be mad at me in the morning, but I needed to show her. I went to her room, very quietly opened the door and went over to the bed. She looked beautiful and peacefully snuggled up into the covers.

I very gently pulled the comforter off her and I immediately regretted my decision. She was only in a t-shirt, and it was pulled up, just barely covering her butt. I stopped the groan from coming out because I didn’t want to wake her, but this plan was not going well already. I picked her up very gently and settled her against my chest. She grabbed my shirt and snuggled herself in. I quietly carried her back to my room and pushed the door open.

I moved her so I could pull the cover back and gently laid her down and covered her back up. She inhaled deeply and let out a moan as she snuggled deeper into my bed. I went into the closet and changed into a pair of shorts. I climbed into bed with every intention of keeping a little distance between us, but she rolled over, put her head on my chest and sighed. I wrapped my arms around her, breathing in her scent and let the darkness take over.

I woke up to feeling someone wiggling next to me and opened my eyes. "It's too early in the morning my love, go back to sleep." "Rainn, I don't know how I got here but I really need to use the bathroom, so please let me up." I untangled myself from her and watched as she walked into my bathroom. I sat up against the headboard and waited for her to come back because I knew that she would have questions for me. She came back into the room and looked very nervous.

She was pulling the hem of the shirt down and wouldn't look me in the eyes. "I brought you in here last night", I said. "Why did you do that?" "I realized that it might have seemed like I didn't care about you as much as I showed earlier, and I didn't want you to think that." I tapped the bed for her to come and sit next to me. "I have a lot that I need to explain to you, and I don't want to overwhelm you. She took a deep breath and nodded at me to continue.

"As I said before, I am a hunter in an organization called The Vindicta. I have been training since I was ten years old. My parents were killed in an attack by a rogue werewolf and Liam, and I was rescued by Ard’al. He took us in and was a father to us. When it came time for the trials, I won. I became a hunter and I've been going on mission after mission ever since. Ard’al told me when I became a hunter that we all had one destined person, a soul mate. We already have a bond, but it won't fully form until we accept each other completely."

She looked at me a little puzzled, "What does accepting each other fully mean?" "Well, you are already marked." I pointed to her my chest, and she pulled the shirt down to reveal her mark. “Do you have a mark?” “Not yet, you have to mark me for that to happen, but I don’t want you to until you are ready.” “How will I know what to do?” “It’ll be like an instinct is pushing you. We have to accept each other's body, mind, and soul", I said, trying to accentuate the word body. I saw the light bulb go off and her cheeks went a crimson shade.

She looked beautiful, flushed and I wanted to keep her like that all the time. "I'm not going to pressure you into anything. I will wait as long as you need." "Is that why I was able to push that demon in the fight behind the bar?" "Yes, because I marked you, you were able to pull some of my power, which is why your mark lit up, but until we are fully mated your powers will not surface. "Wait, I'll have more powers than being able to dream walk?" "All hunters have certain abilities. It is different for everyone."

Suddenly, she got up and straddled me. "I might not be completely ready to go all the way yet, but can we have a little bit of fun?", she asked me so innocently that I felt myself grow hard right away. I knew that she could feel what she had done to me because her face flushed, and she went to put her head down. I grabbed her under her chin and whispered, "Don't ever be embarrassed to ask me for what you want, because believe me, I'm willing to give you whatever it is that your heart desires. I'm going to try to stay in control here, love."

I pulled her face towards me and brushed our lips together. She immediately deepens the kiss and I run my tongue over her bottom lip to ask for entrance. She gives it to me and our tongues battle for dominance. She started to grind her hips against me, and I grabbed her and held her still. I flipped her over and I braced myself on top of her. "I'm going to touch you my love, and if you don't like or are uncomfortable with anything, I do just tell me and I will stop immediately, ok?" She nodded her head while biting her bottom lip.

"I need to hear you say the words my love." "Yes, Rainn, I will tell you." "Good girl", I smiled. Her whole body shivered at my praise. I pushed her shirt up over her head and realized she had nothing underneath. My woman was laid out underneath me completely naked. She went to cover herself, but I pulled her hands away. "Do not ever hide from me, my love, you are absolutely gorgeous and are all mine.

I started running my hands down her body and following it with kisses. She was breathing quickly and arching up into my kisses. "You like that, my love?" "Yes please, I need more," she begged. I laughed, "My love, I'm just getting started." I kissed her breasts and took both in my hands, kneading them and running my thumbs over her peaks. She arched her back and a moan escaped from her, an addicting sound. I took each peak into my mouth, sucking and nipping until she couldn't keep still.

She tried to reach down to grab me, but I moved myself back. "This is all about you, I will let you explore me but right now it's my turn." I pushed her up further on the bed and settled myself in between her legs. I started kissing her inner thigh and moved toward her center. She gasped, "What are you doing, Rainn?" "I'm going to taste you, my love. I have been dying to know." As soon as I put my mouth on her center, she let out a strangled cry and tried to wiggle away.

I anchored her hips in place and continued my assault on her, licking and sucking until I could feel her entire body tighten up and she screamed my name repeatedly. Her whole body was shaking, coming down from her high. She was breathing heavily. "We should get dressed and head down for breakfast before Liam comes looking for us", I said. She agreed and sat up to kiss me. I got her a pair of shorts and a shirt, and we headed downstairs.
