Mike Birds are chirping near the window and the heat of the southern sun is beaming through the panes over my exposed arm as it holds a warm soft body to mine. Falling asleep next to this woman was the best birthday gift I’ve ever had. She wanted to be with me last night, but I don’t know if it was because she just didn’t want to be alone in this house after everything and learning that Cobra wasn’t her real father, or if it was because she still loves me and didn’t want the night to end. I wanted to tell her it was my birthday while she was coherent enough to hear it, but yesterday was a big day and it would have taken the focus off her.
