I pressed my forehead to the glass and watched the wolves below. My eyes drifted to the front row, dead center, one of these three wolves would be my mate and the new Alpha. I knew each of them from school, well I didn't really know them, but I knew of them. Once they stared showing potential as future Alphas my father ordered them to keep their distance from me.
Henrik Redwood was 2 years older then me, He was extremely intelligent and an expert tracker. His father was the Master Tracker of the Pack so it was no surprise. He was also handsome, He had light brown hair that he kept short, with ice blue eyes, He was about 6 ft and a little on the smaller side muscle wise. Not that he wasn't strong, he just wasn't as bulky.
Beau Graystone was my age, we actually had a few classes together over the years. And I watched him grow from a scrawny young wolf to the biggest wolf in the pack. He was 6"5 and built like a brick house, he had dark brown almost black hair and hazel eyes. He had average intelligence, but was a great strategist. My father had even asked him to assist on some of the most recent battles. Because of him we had not lost a single Pack member in battle in over a year.
Then there was Galen Blackcreek. He was 6 years older then me and the most likely of the three to be named the New Alpha to my dismay. He was 6'3, with Dark Ginger red hair, and emerald green eyes. He was very pleasing to the eye, but once he spoke all of that went away. He was the most arrogant Wolf I'd even had the displeasure of meeting. Last year at the age of 23 he was the youngest wolf in Pack history to be promoted to Lead Warrior, that is where his arrogance steamed from.
I met Galen once, it was during a celebratory feast after he had been promoted. My father made sure that I congratulated him on his promotion, I was looking for him in a sea of drunken Wolves when I was grabbed around the waist and pulled from behind. I landed with an oof on a very large lap, I looked around and found myself nose to chest with a very Drunk Galen.
He brushed the hair from my neck and leaned his head down close to me, as he did his lips every so gently brushed against my skin. I felt his chest move as he laughed when I shivered at his touch. "I will do much more then this to you when you are my Luna" he said in a soft husky growl right before letting go of my waist. I sat there for a moment trying to process what had just happened when he bounced his legs and said "Better get going little Luna before someone sees you"
I jumped up and bowed quickly "Congratulations on your promotion" I spoke the words quickly and then made my way out of the hall and ran back to the main house and up to my room. That was the first time I had ever been touched by male, I didn't understand the reactions my body had had to his touch.
I shook my head at the memory. He was an arrogant jerk, to make assumptions that I was going to be his. I dreaded that thought. Ever since that night I would catch him looking at me, never meeting my gaze, but looking at me like a Wolf looks at their pray. With wanting desire. It always made my stomach feel funny when I would catch him looking.
I turned away from the window and took a deep breath. I didn't have time to dread what the BloodMoon ceremony meant for me. I had to help finishing the preparations. I stood up and headed down stairs to the dinning hall. That was where my mother and the rest of the female Wolves doing all the preparations for the Ceremony. It was two weeks away and we had almost all of it done. The only thing that really needed to be finished was my dress.
I couldn't bring myself to agree to any of the patters that were shown to me, it was honestly because I didn't want to do this. I didn't want to be married off. I wish it had been anyone else in my shoes. I put off fittings telling my mother I was too busy with homework, I never fully agreed to any kind of design and I just tried to stall the process for as long as I could.
But today, I could no longer push it off. When my Mother had mentioned to my Father that I still hadn't decided on a dress he told me that if I didn't make a decision by the next meeting he was going to make the choice for me.
I walked over to my mother and Gianna, Gianna was the one who was going to be designing and making my dress. I smiled at them both before sitting in the chair next to them. "I'm ready for my fitting" I said softly. Gianna and my mother both smiled "I will make sure that you look beautiful Alora" Gianna said as she stood up to get her measuring tape. "Now stand up and we will get started" I looked up at Gianna and sighed. There was no getting out of this anymore, I stood up slowly and smiled.
It took a little over an hour for Gianna to get all the measurements, and for me to pick out colors and fabric and the overall design. After that hour I was completely exhausted, I told my mother I was going to go back up to my room for a little while. She took my hand and kissed it "It will all be alright Alora, I promise" her voice was so calming. I really wanted to believe her I really, really did.
I got to the foot of the stairs when my stomach growled. I hadn't eaten all day, with everything going on I guess I had just forgotten. I made my way into the kitchen to make myself something before going back up to my room. I walked slowly towards the kitchen, I never liked walking around the main house, there was just too much of a chance of running into people.
There wasn't anyone in the kitchen thank goodness, I went over to the fridge and pulled it open. I stared at the food inside and tried to decide what to eat when I heard footsteps. I turned around just as Galen walked through the doorway. "Well hello Little Luna" He said leaning against the door frame.
