“What are you saying Nyla don’t tell lies” Chloe retorted. I know she will try to make me look like a liar.

“Lies. I have proof of your steamy threesome.” I say and look at her confidently.

I knew it from a long back. But I don’t want to meddle in other people’s business so I never told it to John.

“What is she saying, Chloe?” John asks shocked. He looks at her with contempt.

“How can you say that? We agreed you will tell no one. You don’t have any principle?” Chloe retorts.

How stupid she is. I thought she will not admit it although she is the one.

“Wow, who is talking about principle?” Lily laughs.

“And John she is not only cheating with me, you know. I am sure she is cheating for a long. Because I found her in an escort site and she was very famous there.” Sid smirks.

“John believes me they are all lying.” She says, but didn’t she just admit it now?

“Then, what is this?” Lily shows John a video of Chloe with two-man

“Oh, my goodness. Chloe, I thought you loved me.” John’s face changes.

“I love you. I love you, John. Believe me. They are just jealous of me.” she holds his hand and pleads.

“This is called love?” he asks. I know he must have felt betrayed, but I think it’s Karma. What they did with me come back to them.

“These are all fake. I am not this. They are making a story.” She says again.

“Oh really. Do you think I am blind or a fool?” he jerks her hand away.

“OK, enough of your melodrama. I don’t want to see any of your faces in my sight, ever. So just leave from here.” I say in a boring tone.

“Nyla we are friends,” John says, making an innocent face

“We were never friends and will never be. If I see you ever, I will sue you for mental harassment, understand?” I say and he looks hurt.

“Nyla...” He tries to say something, but Lily stands between us.

“Just leave with your w***e wife.” she spats and John leaves.

“Nyla I will never forgive you. You ruined my marriage.” Chloe leaves, stomping her feet and chasing between John.

“She did nothing. You ruined it on your own.” Lily says.

I sat tiredly on the bench.

This drama has taken all my energy.

“Nyla are you OK?” Lily comes and hugs me.

“No, can I be alone for some time?” I say and lie on the recliner, closing my eyes.

“No, I am not leaving you alone,” she says adamantly.

“I will do nothing stupid. I am OK.” I assure her.

“I don’t believe you. I am here. Sid, you all can go. I will handle her.” Lily says and they all leave. I lie on the bench and Lily also lies beside me.

I feel guilty.

I have ruined everyone’s vacation and what I have done with John and Chloe, this is not me.

“Lily do I do right?” I ask after sometimes looking at the sky.

“Of course, you did right. They deserve it,” she says, but I was feeling guilty.

I never did something to hurt anyone.

“But their marriage will be at stake. But how she was insulting you I couldn’t control myself.” I say, and she holds my hand.

I get up and sit facing her.

“What marriage you’re talking about. Where one partner is cheating behind another? It was bound to break,” I know she is right but I feel guilty.

“But I feel guilty,” I say and she shakes her head,

“Don’t be. If it were not you, anyone would have told him. Do you think Sid wouldn’t have told John if he had met him before?” She asks, and I remain silent.

“No but. Nyla, you have spent so many years with this baggage. Now it’s time you leave them and start a new life.” She says.

“Maybe. But one thing is sure. I feel relieved.” I take a deep breath. Lily is right.

“Really.” she looks elated.

“Yes. I feel a heavy stone is being removed from my heart.” I say.

“Now you will go on a blind date?” She asked excitedly, and I chuckle.

“I am not sure if I will believe someone but I will try,” I say.

I know what is she trying to do is the right things.

But I need time.

“I am glad to hear that.” She lies back and I too.

“Just let my wound heal. I also want to feel free,” I close my eyes.

How the sea breeze is blowing in my face. It feels so calm.

“Nyla all people are not the same. I don’t say you will not find any person like John again, but some people are good. Don’t close your heart. Just let people enter. Maybe someday you will also find your prince charming.” Lily says dramatically, and I smile.

“I don’t know. But I am afraid of Lily. what if I will find another John? I feel insecure.” I say slowly.

“I will not force you, Nyla. But you will have to forget all this. You can’t hurt others because someone hurt you.” She says and I nod.

“I don’t want to. But I also don’t want to get hurt.” I say again.

“Take some time. I am sure you will also find someone. God can’t be so cruel. He will also give you happiness.” she says.

I don’t know what has destiny stored for me.

But I don’t want to wish for something.

When a dream breaks, it hurt a lot.

So it’s better not to dream.

What has to happen will happen.

So let the time take its course.
