Beautiful in silence

My name is Abigail,I wasn't born different but only grew up to become a different person. Born like every other child, I am the second born and daughter of a family of six. I started pre-school early due to my exceptional brilliance and the fact that I was a fast learner. I lost my hearing ability to measles infection when I was barely six years old. Now I communicate by reading lip or through text messages. I learnt how to read lips on my own because I was tired of not being able to communicate with others. Many years ago, before my 6th birthday,I felt terribly sick and was down with severe measles infections.. in it was so severe to the extent that I couldn't eat,sit or stand. I went to the hospital, spent money and sold properties,but there was no improvement. My parents decided to take me to a traditional home,but it was all futile. After so much effort trying to save myself,I got better but I couldn't hear or talk properly again. That was the beginning of my struggles. I became a different person,a shadow of my self. I refused to accept the reality and I spent many hours crying all alone. But something amazing happened which changed my perception about life.
