Henry
Henry, a new guardian angel, over 200 years old, a former royal and unmatched, had the opportunity to become a guardian angel with the Ark if the royal did not find their soulmate during their lifetime. Commoners can become angels, but they must find their soulmate before they leave Earth, or they will forever be reincarnated until the two souls find each other. Having accepted his fate of being unmatched, Henry got his mark as a guardian and finished his training. Once training was completed, he is moved to new living quarters where his duty was more important than comfort in material items. His bed, a cot with a feather pillow and a rope mattress with two golden sheets. His room was large, with vaulted ceilings like a church. In front of his bed was the looking glass, where he would stand guard and watch over those assigned to him. The looking glass had massive golden drapes. Cleopatra, his superior, gave Henry his assignment information and then left him to get to work. She recognized that Henry's space did not have an orb, a tool that could manipulate small things on Earth to keep their assignment safe without directly interfering. It is the number one rule in basic training not to interfere on Earth directly and never to descend to Earth, as the Ark will not retrieve a guardian angel unless there are exceptional circumstances to cause the guardian angel to descend. The rules are set for a reason, and any guardian angel that descends to earth would be considered a fallen angel, doomed to walk the earth for eternity. Henry waits for his Orb and decides to look at his first assignment, Amy. The first time he'd set eyes on a young woman for a very long time. He was prepared to protect her. It was his job to protect her; the documentation on her assignment led to every other guardian angel she had could not keep up with the unfortunate circumstances of her life. Upon reading her file, Henry presumed her soul was broken, attracting bad luck at every moment. Unfortunately, the Ark does not keep track of how many times a soul has been reincarnated to find its soul mate. Henry decides to get straight to work, watching over Amy. He opens the curtain to his looking glass, looking at the world. He sees Amy, a beautiful petite brunette with an infectious smile. Dancing in her car to her favourite music. Her endearing nature distracts other drivers; Henry laughs as people turn their heads to look at her as she dances and sings at a red light. Henry notices that Amy's happy and fun day will be short-lived. A red pickup truck is driving at an excessive speed toward her. While enjoying her music, Amy looks in her rearview mirror to see the red truck coming at her; she thinks, "Jeez bud, it's a red light; slow down". Henry can see the person behind the wheel; the red truck has unhinged fury as they approach Amy's car. Once the truck was closer, Henry thought, "Wait... do I know that guy?" Henry recognized now was the time to act. Without his orb, Henry was powerless. Henry had an abnormally strong sense of responsibility for this girl. He was drawn to protect her, looking for anything he could to save her. All he could find in his room were the tools to use for the fireplace. Henry knew the Ark's rule for being a guardian angel was not to interfere with their assignments directly, unless absolutely necessary. Henry recognized the soul behind the wheel of the red truck and knew something very bad would happen to Amy if their paths crossed. Amy could die if he didn't act quickly. Henry decided to break the one rule that should never be broken. He broke the looking glass and jumped out. Only half a second later, Henry lands on Amy's car with a massive thud. Her car was not damaged, and Amy was now looking at a beautiful tall man standing up and dusting himself off, walking up to her window, and saying, "Hello Amy, can I please drive? We need to lose this maniac behind you, okay?" Amy strumbled over her words looking around, shocked that no one else saw this stranger fall on her car. She nodded her head, unbuckled her seatbelt, stood up as she tripped over her shoelaces and running to the other side of her car. How is this possible, she thought. A beautiful man drop from the sky onto a car! Brush himself off and know her name? Amy looked at this man he was beautiful, tall, dark, and handsome. He smelled like reassurance, the scent of cookies, campfires and leather all wrapped into this one delicious scent. "Amy, we need to go. Can I drive, please?" she stumbles and enters the passenger side. She was instantly relaxed in his presence, as though she knew him from somewhere but couldn't place it. He gets behind the wheel as quickly as possible. Amy, a bit dumbfounded, got in and sat down. Henry says, "You ready?" Amy quickly buckles her seat belt. And says, "Yes", the car sputters into a stall, and the red truck is too close for the car to move now, "No time for pleasantries, Amy, we need to get out of this car now and run." Amy says, "Okay, " but in her mind, she's wondering where this beautiful man came from. Did she end up in an accident and she was halucinating? Is this some kind of dream? Men don't fall out of the sky like that. Amy's thoughts were ripped away just as quickly as Henry scooped her up and started to run. Amy has the biggest smile on her face. She feels like she's in her own movie, a damsel in distress, and this beautiful guardian angel-like man falls out of the sky to save her. He whisks her up like a child and starts running. Amy notices his running has a strange gait. He's flying with her in his arms. Henry knows he's likely lost his post at the Ark, but there is something about this girl. He had to protect her. To him, she's not just an assignment. He sees something more, something he thought he lost over 200 years ago; his Millie. After Millie was banished from his kingdom for having an affair with the prince, Henry vowed never to fall in love again. His family ripped his one true love away from him, as Millie was not of one hundred percent noble blood; she could not marry Henry as Henry's parents refused to taint the royal bloodline with any amount of common blood. It would risk their status in the afterlife. Henry knew common souls could be reincarnated if they did not end up with their soulmate, an endless cycle of lost souls looking for their one and only, over and over again. Their minds get wiped out before returning to Earth if they are not of royal blood. Henry never expected to see his Millie again after she was sent away. Without a doubt, Henry knew Amy was his Millie; Amy and Henry were soulmates, and not even the ark could keep the two separated. Henry was Amy's guardian angel, and Amy would become Henry's saving Grace.
