She isn't suffering from what you think it is dear, but she's definitely not well. I wanted to say it out loud so I wouldn't look weird for being friends with such a person.
"Let's get going, straight to my house, and be done with the project." I said after an awkward silence. "Let's get going!"
Mia left first, and she walked swiftly to reach my house faster. Ella tried to initiate a conversation, but I told her to give me her contact number so that we could talk later.
I bade Ella goodbye. When I got to my room, I saw Emma outside. I was filled with anger. I entered my room and told Mia to leave my house. She left at once without saying anything. I had felt the urge to call her back, but I didn't.
I helped Emma with her projects. While doing the projects, I decided to call Ella since Mia had left, and she lived nearby. I dialled her number, and she answered. "Hey, Ella, are you busy? If you are not, Mia isn't here, so you can come to my house."
"Okay." That was curt. She definitely didn't want to come over. I guessed she only wanted an explanation for what happened and could get that by coming over to my house.
"Alright, see you soon." I hung up the call to continue what I was doing. I didn't stop to think about what could be the reason Mia left without hesitation.
We waited for a while, but Ella didn't come. I called her, but she didn't pick up the call. I should have known she wouldn't like to associate with me again. I understood that, but she didn't have to lie. It was not like I forced her to talk to me at first.
I felt numb because Ella was a nice girl. She wanted to be my friend, but Mia scared her away. How was I sure she wanted to be my friend. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I told Emma to leave and come back the next day.
"Yes, I think that's a good idea because today is one of those days. Just set boundaries, Mia impede on every aspect of your life. Set boundaries, and you will be happier, okay?" I truly appreciated Emma for her kind words, not Emma.
"Alright, sure I will. Mia isn't the problem, Mia needs a friend like you. Can you play that role in her life?" I truly believed I was the problem. Issues shouldn't escalate the way they did. A good friend would calm her down and help her manage her disorder, but I chased her away.
"Mia doesn't like me. If not you, then no one is right for her. That's all Mia wants to know." She added promptly.
"I know, but do it for me, try at least." Emma was perplexed by my request but gave in anyway. It was good knowing that Mia would have possibly had another friend.
"Emma, I'm grateful, I'm happy. I hope it all works out." Emma was pessimistic and was certain that it wouldn't work out. I watched her leave my room.
Simultaneously, I heard Emma's voice. I went outside and saw Ella lying unconsciously on the floor. I immediately entered inside my house and called my mom.
"What did you do, Olivia?" My mom queried
"Mom, it wasn't me. We found her here." My mom rushed her to the hospital because she was bleeding. I just stood there staring at nothing in bewilderment. "Mia will pay for this." I said it aloud because I was filled with anger."
"How sure are you it's Mia?" I didn't listen to Emma. I knew there was no other person who could commit such an offence.
When I arrived at Mia's house I saw her mom first and I went to greet her.
"Olivia, how are you?" She asked in a soothing tone. I wasn't able to tell her the reason I was there. She would have been so disappointed with her only daughter.
"I'm fine, Ma'am, is Mia around? At that moment, I realised I had not randomly been at Mia's house. I only went for one reason or the other. I dismissed the thought because I was there for a more important reason.
"Yes dear, Mia will be happy to see you. You haven't been here for quite some time now." Her eyes were seeking answers to why I decided to visit.
"I have been busy with schoolwork." I was already impatient. I had to see Mia urgently.
"Alright, dear, Mia is in her room." I didn't want her to grow suspicious, so I told her that I would start to come every day till she got tired of seeing me. I didn't wait for her to reply. I headed straight to Mia's room.
"Mia!! are you a murderer?" I uttered, at first sight.
