“We still don’t know, Jan.” Peter said at ipinaharap niya ang screen sa direksyon ni Alejandro. It was the CCTV how she entered the Burol at kung paano siya hinabol ni Medea.

Kung hindi lang siya ang anak ng Lacson na kinamumuhian niya ay malamang ay kanina pa siya naiyak sa tawa dahil sa ginawa ng alaga niyang pusa rito. He knows that Medea is the type of cat na clingy. Everytime she saw someone unfamiliar she wants to smell it and want to be petted and obviously this woman is afraid of cats.

“Hindi na sakop ng CCTV ang pinanuntahan nilang bukid, kung totoo man ang sinasabi niya.”

“It might be true but she might still have an ulterior motive.” Alejandro said as he rewatched the CCTV Footage.

“Think of it, Jan. Why would she take a snap in your place?” Peter asked as he is the one to check the camera and the picture of it.

“Uhh. To familiarize the place?”

“So that?”

“His father…”

“Bingo!” Peter exclaimed at mas lalo kumulo ang dugo ni Alejandro. “But—”

Napatingin si Alejandro sa kaibigan at napataas ang kilay. “But? What?”

“She is successful already in New York. I don’t know what could be her reason kung bakit siya bumalik ng Pilipinas at especially dito sa Probinsya ng Mirasol.”

“She have mentioned that she is an Interior Designer?”

“Ah yeah, she is. One of the famous interior designer sa NY and she is also publishing books for her photography. But somethings really off in social media about her.”

“What is that?”

“There are rumors that she has already a child.”

“A child?”

Peter nod at nakita ni Alejandro na pinatay na nito ang computer na kung saan sila nanood ng CCTV kanina. “But her father brush it off. Saying it was just a non sense rumor. But ever since she was 13 years old—she was already in the US. It was her first time after a long period of time to came back here in the Philippines.”

Napabuntong hininga na lang si Alejandro sa sinabi ng kaibigan. “Why would she enter on my property premises? What would be her motive?”

And if ever she had a child—he or she might already be finding her.

“Santiago might send her here to spy everyone or to have the blueprint of the surroundings to familiar the locations like what you have said. But… why her? His own daughter?”

Hindi na nakasagot si Peter sa tanong ng kaibigan.

Sa makailang pagkakataon ay napabuntong hininga si Samantha habang napatingin sa labas ng bintana.

Her first excursion ever since she landed here in the Philippines since the very long time has been a dooming bad luck.

To all of the people… why would she go to the Jemenia’s Property?

She sighed as she saw the chain that connected on her ankle.

She sighed when she saw the blue bag on his arms.

She sighed the moment she saw her reflection in the vanity mirror near her.

“I just want to go home with my Apollo.” She whispered.

Sana kahit mag kagalit ang pamilya nila ay hindi nila ako idadamay sa gulo nila. Kanila lang naman iyon. Labas na ako doon.

As if her thoughts has been vocally said a sudden opening of the door made her heart race.

She saw the familiar man entered with a tray of foods. Parang hudyat lang eto na kumalam ang sikmura niya at doon niya lang naalala na simula kagabi ay wala pa pala siyang nakain bukod sa ininom niyang kape bago mag simulang mag hike.

“Can you let me go, Gov?”

She saw how the governor stopped at iniangat niya ang tingin para matignan niya ng maigi si Samantha. Matapos ang ilang segundo ay tumango siya at binigyan siya ng isang ngiti.

That perfect smile! Sandali! Nawawala ata ang panty ni Samantha.

“Really?” Samantha lifted her left feet to let him unbuckle the chain.

“Of course… No.” bumagsak ang mukha ni Samantha at hindi niya mapigilan umikot ang mata niya.

“What the f**k?” she exclaimed. “Look, Governor or whatsoever. I’ve already told you the reason kung bakit ako napadpad dito sa hacienda mo, isn’t that enough to let me go?”

But the governor smiled again pero may kasamang iling.

Stop that fuucking smile, dumbass!

“No. not until you spill everything why your father sent you here.”

Samantha is trying her best not to explode. She sighed at napakamao niya ang kamay para pigilan lang talaga ang sarili.

“Governor Jemenia. My relationship with my father is strictly business. I haven’t even talked to him since what…? 3 years ago?”

“Hmm.” Alejandro hummed habang inaayos sa side table ang pagkain niya.

“So please, let me go. Because if you are busy, I am busy too. So I did you a favor and you do me a favor. That is a win win situation.”

Nilapag ni Alejandro ang huling kubyertos sa mesa at nilingon si Samantha. “No.”

That’s it!

“Why the fuuck would you do this to me, ha?!” sinubukan niyang abutin ang lalake pero hindi niya eto nagawa dahil may nakakabit sa paa niya at hindi siya nakalayo mula sa kinahihigaan niya.

“Don’t you think it would cause a ruckus if the media will know that you have kidnapped me?” She shouted at gigil na gigil niyang tinaasan ng kilay si Alejandro.

But the man just chuckled and amusingly napasandig sa vanity mirror sa di kalayuan kay Samantha. He crossed his arms and raising his eyebrows. “First of all, it was you who went to our hacienda so it will not consider as kidnapping.”

“Whatever! You still detained me here! It will ruin your image, Governor! Especially mage-election na! You kidnapping me— if I will die—everyone will know that you are the one who killed me!”

“Just like your father did to my parents? Kidnapped and killed?”

Parang umurong ang dila ni Samantha sa narinig because she know that her father is ruthless and he is more than capable to do those things that this person have said.

“Tied with packing tape. Naked. Bugbog sarado ang katawan and the throat was slit.” She saw the Governor chuckled and bitterly smiled. “It wasn’t a person who did that. It was an evil.”

“I—I…” she can’t form any sentence from what she heard. Nagulat siya ng makita niya na unti unting lumapit ang lalake sa direksyon niya hangang sa lumapit na ng tuluyan eto sa mukha niya. Ilang metro na lang ang layo nito sa bibig niya. Nanigas siya sa kinauupuan at sinundan lang niya ang mga mata nito kung saan patungo.

Tumungo eto sa tenga niya para bumulong—at halos lumbas sa dibdib niya ang kanyang puso—because she is so sorry and scared.

“Salvaged.” He whispered.

Nilayo na nito ang mukha mula sa pagkakabulong at nakita ni Samantha ang galit at pagkapuot mula rito. “If there is a person who taught me to be ruthless and evil—it was your father, Miss Lacson..”

“I-I—” Am I going to die now?

She saw that he lifted his hands—he’s going to choke me to death.

She is mentally preparing for herself to die on this moment so she close her eyes and ready herself—but seconds passed already but there is no hands on his neck.

She slowly opened her eyes and she saw him tucked the baby hairs on the back of his ear. “But I am not like him, Samantha.”

It was hypnotizing to hear her name said by the man infront of her. She doesn’t understand but out of people calling her name—it was the safest and the most comfortable of all. she must be gone crazy.

He pulled out his body from sitting with her in a one bed and stood up infront of her. “I have proposals for you.”

“Proposals?”

“Hmm—hmm.” He nod.

“What is it?” She asked pero hindi natapos ang pagsasalita niya ng biglang kumalam ang sikmura niya at alam niya na narinig din eto ng lalake sa harap niya.

“Eat up first.” She almost flinched to touch the food beside her pero natigilan siya at napatingin sa gobernador. Papalit-palit niyang tinignan ang pagkain at ang gobernador na parang bang nako-confuse.

“Walang lason yan. I told you I am not like him. May konsensya pa naman ako somehow.” Tuluyan na siyang tumayo at sa huling pagkakataon ay tinignan niya ng maigi ang bihag bago tuluyang magtungo sa pinto ng kwarto para tuluyan na ngang umalis.

She was left there alone nanaman habang katabi ang pagkain. She hesitated a bit pero nagugutom na talaga siya kaya hindi na siyang nagdalawang isip na lantakan ang pagkain.

Patay kung patay. I am already dead inside so that made them a double dead killer.
