The message startled me. I checked the number and it's unregistered.
I was about to call Genna's attention to it when the door opened and Anna entered.
"Ma'am. Hale group is requesting your presence for an emergency board meeting," Genna and I shared a look.
"I'll see you later"
"Can you come?" I asked her hopefully. She was always like a pillar and I wished she would be by my side for this.
"I... I have something important to do," she said and I looked at her confused. What could be important that she didn't want to come with me?
"I'm sorry but it's an emergency. I'll talk to you later." I nodded.
"I'm really sorry that I can't come with you" she apologized.
"It's fine," I said and followed Anna out.
