There was something real in that place. After the interviews, we all gathered again — talking, laughing… breathing easier. For a moment, nobody felt alone. Hope had returned. One guy, who lived nearby, showed me an easier way to the taxi rank. Even the journey back felt lighter than the one that brought me there. But reality came rushing back when it was time to get off the taxi. I realized something I didn’t expect… I had enjoyed being away from my hood. Before my stop, I saw Rebecca walking in the street while I was still inside the taxi. She hadn’t been replying to my f*******: messages.
