A collection of short stories by B.S. Medina Jr., winner from the Philippines of the 1994 South East Asia Write Award. Stories in this collection appeared in national weeklies: “Long Night” and “Wedding Fire” in Sunday Times Magazine; “Deep Earth” in PhilippinesFree Press; “Rebirth,” “The Dying of the Sun,” “Storm,” “Crack in the Wall,” “The Cat,” “The Bridges,” “Tree,” “Portion of the World,” “Dog Meat,” “Burial,” and “A Bag of Heart” in This Week Magazine; “Dead Fish in the Pond” and “Alms” in Weekly Graphic; and “Matabungkay” in Weekly Women’s Magazine. Sixteen stories appeared from 1950 to 1959, one in 1964.
