"Bound by Blood; Torn by Fate.”

Aria Silverclaw never imagined that her weakest moment would bind her to the most deadly man she has ever known. Her biggest foe should be the vicious Alpha of a competing pack, Kael Nightshade. Their paths become dangerously linked, though, as he saves her from an invisible enemy.

Aria and Kael have to face their darkest wishes and greatest fears while caught between a forbidden love that could destroy them both and an ancient conflict. It is evident as Aria's latent ability starts to show that the most important fight she wins will take place inside her own heart, not between their packs.

In a society when allegiance defines everything, can love buck fate? Alternatively will their link start an unwinnable war?

Episode 1
Whispers of the Forgotten Aria’s POV As I negotiated the thick underbrush, the moon hung low in the sky, giving the woodland a terrible glare. Though tonight they provided little solace, the familiar smells of pine and moist ground surrounded me. Driven by a feeling I could not ignore—a pull, a whisper in the wind suggesting things were about to change—I had strayed farther from the protection of the Moonridge Clan than ever before. Stopped at an old oak, its gnarled roots curled through the ground like claws holding the ground. Often coming here to pick herbs, the secret glade full of the ingredients I needed for my treatments. But tonight something else was in the air—a strain that made my nerves jumble. My heart thumping in my chest, I looked about, and sensed sharp awareness. My eye was drawn to the right from a rustle in the bushes. I paused, listening. The typical symphony of nighttime wildlife stilled as if holding their breath, the woodland had gone shockingly silent. More for comfort than real protection, I held the little knife at my belt. Against the dangers prowling the shadow of this planet, what could a simple blade accomplish? My breath stopped as a tall, striking man emerged from the darkness, his eyes gleaming a savage gold in the moonlight. K Elaine Nightshade. His name by itself made me shudder. The most hated Lycan in the country and the Alpha of the Bloodfang Pack, our declared adversary. He moved with lethal grace, his presence a physical force that gave the air around him seeming weight and thickness. "What are you here, Silverclaw?" His voice was a deep growl of contempt, yet there was something more there—something I couldn't exactly locate. His harsh, relentless stare fixed on me caused me to tremble automatically. "I could ask you the same," I said, my voice remarkably steady. Moonridge territory is what we live in. Kael's lip drew into a scowl. territory? Let alone claim territory, your clan can hardly protect its boundaries now. Though I pushed it down, anger erupted inside me hot and instantaneously. Encouragement of him would have no benefit. We both knew it; I was not strong enough to question someone like Kael. Still, I couldn't totally back off. Though worn, my pride still lingered. Though I knew it was useless, I said, trying to give my words power: "You have no right to be here." "Leave, or I'll—“ He said, "You'll what?" approaching closely. He was everywhere, a tempest housed inside a man's shell. "You'll dash back to your plants and act as though you found nothing? Little healer, is that the plan? Though I stood my ground, the taunt stung. " Why are you here, Kael?" I asked, pushing the topic far from my own shortcomings. "What do you wish for?" He was quiet for a minute, his face incomprehensible. Then, shockingly, his look softened momentarily before hardening once again. "Aria, your clan is threatened here. Much horrible than anything you have ever experienced. Here I am to halt it. I blinked and stumbled. You expect me to believe that? "You don't have to believe anything," he said dismissively. You will, however, want to listen. The air surrounding us appeared to thicken before I could reply, as if a sudden pressure fell on the glade. I sensed something dark and terrible closing in from all sides. Once known and safe, the forest felt like a trap now, and I was the prey. Kael's hand sprang out, snatching my arm in a hard but not painful hold. We have to relocate. Not now. Every instinct told me not to trust him, so I paused, but the anxiety chewing at my stomach was more powerful. I nodded, letting him guide me away from the glade and whatever lurked in the shadows into the forest. We went fast, the quiet between us weighty with unsung words. "What is it?" My voice just above a whisper, I asked. "Something that shouldn't exist," Kael said bitterly, looking across the forest as we hurried. "A monster produced from a power older than the conflict among our packs. And you will be getting it. The words made me shiver, but before I could ask further the ground shook and a guttural snarl rang through the trees. A huge, dark creature emerged from the underbrush, its eyes ablaze with a terrible light, and my heart stitched. Its form changing and writhing as if it were composed of shadows themselves, it was like nothing I had ever seen—a hideous mix of wolf and darkness. With his body stiffening as he got ready to battle, Kael shoved me behind him. "Stay back," he said, a low snarl in his voice. "This is not something you can manage." I wanted to argue, to tell him I wasn't helpless, but the pure horror I felt kept me mute. I could only see Kael change, his strong shape transforming into a giant black wolf with bristling raw might. He grabbed for the thing, and the two collided in a whirl of fangs, claws, and fur. The fight was vicious; every blow rocked the ground. Kael's every action is deliberate and lethal, and I could feel the force emanating off him. Still, the beast was persistent, driven by an unholy wrath. My pulse thumping, I staggered back realizing just how shallowly qualified I actually was. This was something far more terrible than a struggle between wolves; it threatened to swallow us all. I had an unusual feeling developing inside me while the fight raged on: a warmth that grew more intense every second. From my chest. Something deep within me was waking, something I had never realized existed. The beast let out a wounded wail out of nowhere, and Kael's jaws locked down on its throat, ripping into the dark flesh. The beast raged, but Kael persisted; his eyes gleamed with a great will. The creature fell with a last, shuddering breath, its body breaking up into wisps of black that vanished into the night. Breathing heavily, Kael turned back into his human form; his garments were ripped and bloody. He turned to me, his face inscrutable, but his eyes—those sharp, golden eyes—held a flutter of something I couldn't quite define. With a scratchy, tired voice, he questioned, "Are you alright? I agreed, not sure exactly whether I was. "What was that?" With a trembling voice, I asked. "A warning," he remarked solemnly, staring at the place the thing had dropped. "Aria, something dark is on approach. And this is merely a starting point. I had both terror and something else—determination—as his words sank in. Whatever this menace constituted, it was not only Kael's struggle. It also belonged to me. But something even more horrible dawned on me as I gazed into his eyes. My toughest struggle might not be with the creatures hiding in the dark but with the emotions aching in my heart for the man who had just saved my life—the man who, by all rights should be my adversary. One idea kept coming back to me as the conflict between us deepened: How could something so perilous, so prohibited, seem so inevitable? A stinging ache flashed across my chest and sent me to my knees before I could absorb everything. My eyesight went fuzzy, and I gulped for air, feeling a stifling heat in my veins. Kael was at my side right away, his hand on my shoulder, worry written on his features. "Aria, what is happening?" Still, I was unable to respond. All I knew was that something inside of me had changed—something both terrible and thrilling. And I simply knew it would alter everything; I had no concept what it meant.
