Chapter 5

Natalia’s POV

“What do you mean?” I asked Alpha Jamie again. “This pregnancy belongs to my ex— well we should’ve been married but circumstances couldn’t let it happen. This child doesn’t belong to you” I said defensively with my hand around my tummy.

Alpha Jamie shook his head at me. “Of course you wouldn’t remember. You weren’t in your senses like I wasn’t”. He said.

“You’re confusing me. Could you just go straight to the point?” I told him tired of the back and forth we had going on.

“Do you remember the night I came for dinner at your father’s place? We had both been drugged and your sister well... I think they planned it” Alpha Jamie explained.

Of course it made sense now! He looked exactly like the man in the pictures Diana posted. But how couldn’t I remember? Then it all came back to me. That day my father had asked me to join them for dinner for the first time.

Dinner was going fine till my stepmother offered me a wine to drink as a toast.

I had taken greatly from the wine as my stepsister Diana suggested a drinking contest and our visitor obliged to it. Apparently father had saved him from being killed by their pack enemies when he was still a little boy and now he was grown he wanted to meet father to thank him.

I panicked and got scared, what if he had joined in their plans and was trying to me? I couldn't trust anyone at this point and I have to make a decision.

Staying here with Alpha Jamie and waiting for a DNA test to be done after I've given birth to my pups or to escape and raise my pups alone as a single mother…

I didn't have what it takes but if I manage to get a job, it'll be much easier for me to raise them on my own.

Alpha Jamie left me inside the bedroom to attend to some important business.

The moment I had taken a bath and eaten I started planning my escape. I didn’t know this man or his pack and with the new revelation of our past I didn’t know if he was trustworthy.

The day was dark and the night was cold.

Alpha Jamie was obviously not in the pack as I heard from the maidens that he went for an important business meeting that'll take hours to finish.

This was my chance to leave this godforsaken place for good and I will raise my pups on my own.

~ FOUR YEARS LATER ~

I breathed in the air of the place I had once ran away from. It’s been four years and in those four years I’ve thought of coming back.

Months after I ran away I gave birth to a male child, Eric. As a child he had begun to show extraordinary talents and powers. There was no mistaking that he had taken over his father which was why I had returned so he would grow up to know the pack he would one day rule.

While at the airport as I was walking down to get a cab that would take me back, some unknown men came around me.

“Hand over the children,” one of them said to me menacingly.

I tried to run but the other held me back, slapping me on the cheek as they dragged my baby out of my hand.

“No! Give me back my baby! Please! Someone help!” I cried out searching for help but help never came as they left with my son, leaving me with only my daughter.

Immediately I took a cab to Alpha Jamie’s pack not caring how he would react when he saw me again after so many years. I knew for the fact that he hasn't given up searching for my pups and I. The moment we got there I jumped down from the taxi running straight to the gate as I kept hitting and knocking at it.

“You need to help me! Open up! Jamie! Alpha Jamie!” I kept screaming.

“What do you want, woman?” A guard came to open the gate.

“I need to see Alpha Jamie now” I said to him trying to push him aside to go in.

“You can’t just-“”

“His heir has been kidn*pped! I need to see him now! Move aside!” I screamed out like a crazed woman as I pushed him away with force going into the house.

“Jamie! Alpha Jamie!” I screamed around looking for him.

“Natalia?” Came Alpha Jamie’s soft voice. His eyes looked relieved to see me for some reason.

“Oh Jamie. Please help me. They took him. They took Darius. Please we need to do something”.

“Who is Darius?” He asked, confused.

“Our son! Your son! The heir to this pack!” I screamed out frustrated as I broke into tears.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t protect him. I was bringing him to you and they took him. Please you need to bring my son to me. Promise me you’ll find him. Please. I’ll do anything just to have him back” I said as more tears poured out of my eyes.

Alpha Jamie rushed to hug me as I broke down in tears. He held me in his arms and glared at me coldly while I cried. “They took our son at the airport” I broke out…

“Please forgive me. I should’ve never left, I cannot let them take him,Please find him” I said, clutching to his shirt.

When I looked into his eyes, they had turned a glowing red.

“I promise you Natalia. I’ll find him and bring him back home. I promise. ” he said. “Do you have a belonging of his?” He asked me and I nodded, bringing out the jacket of Darius I was holding onto before he was kidn*pped.

Jamie took it from me as he inhaled his scent, his eyes still glowing.

“Derek! Take this and make sure every guard has this scent. Nobody is allowed to rest until my son is home” he commanded.

“I promise you Natalia. We’ll bring Darius home” he promised me as I felt the world around me go blank.
