The Night I Meet Them

Chapter Two Report & Uncover

The next morning we all got up looking like the s**t we found out in the boat shack. "uhh I need a cup of coffee now" Nicky stated while shuffling around the room, "I second that" I said. So Molly and Hope went looking around the kitchen to find the old coffee pot, "girl where the hell is your guys coffee pot?" Hope asked out loud. It's on the stovetop I snicker at them "that's a kettle not a coffee pot " Molly said, it's actually both my parents kept this place minimal as possible. So I went and found the instant coffee grounds and made us all coffee.

"So what are we going to do about the creeps from last night?" Nicky questioned after he had two mouths full of coffee. I'll have to go talk to officer Jeff, if he is still working up here. "what do you mean by if?" Molly asked, well he was in his fifties when my family used to come up here. "ok good point on the if comment" Molly said while shaking her head up and down in agreement.

After we all finished our coffee's we were able to function enough to make are selves breakfast. we all had agreed on home made waffles covered in a barry sauce topped with homemade whip cream, and bacon on the side. "yummy was that ever good" we all voiced our at the same time.After we had breakfast and got cleaned up, we all jumped back into Hope's jeep.

I gave Hope directions to the police station up here, once we got there she had parked right out front. "hey why is the town so quiet like we're the only ones here?" questioned Hope it's most likely due to the hour it's not even nine am yet everyone must still be asleep. I hopped down from the jeep and went inside, I was getting that I'm being watched feeling again but pushed it aside as I walked up to the front desk. "Hello" I said to get the officers attention from behind the desk, she looks up with a small smile. "I'm officer Kelly how can I help you this morning?" she introduced and asked me. "well good morning officer Kelly" I greeted, "I was looking for officer Jeff if he still was working here I haven't been up in a few years" I stated. "Oh I'm sorry sweetie but he had retired and passed away a couple months back". "Oh" was all I could say, I didn't see that coming but again the gentleman was in his fifties so time would tell right?

"thank-you for letting me know" I found myself saying. "anytime sweetie" the officer replied back "so what is troubling you maybe I can help". "well me and my friends came up to my family's old cabin for summer vacation from school, and our first night staying here we caught two young men I would say in their twenties inside the boat shack and they had cut and replaced the lock that was originally there " I had stated. "ok, which address are you kid's staying at?" she asked me " 4038 highland Rd just a little south from eagle lake Rd" she paused in her writing and looked up. "4038 Highland Rd as in the death cabin?" she questioned. "why would the town be calling it that?" I questioned back, " we have been having many people go missing up on that road and it's always the same last known spotting at 4038" she informed me.

Odd I thought to myself, "ok well I'll get my partner and another set of officers and we'll check out the area, as long as we have the go ahead to be in the property?" she mentioned " yeah that's not a problem at all". after that I left the station and hopped back into the jeep, "so what did he say?" Hope asked " he died a few months back after he retired so I was talking to an officer named Kelly" I said to them. "What did she tell you" Nicky asked this time while Hope started the jeep to head back to the cabin "she asked what the trouble was so I told her who we found out there and asked for the address but that's where she got wired" I said. "Wired how?" Molly asked "she called my family cabin the death cabin, and had proceeded in telling me over the years my family not coming up here people had been going missing on that road and are all last seen at my family cabin address " I answered.

Once we got back from the station we all hopped out of the jeep, "so what do we start with first?" Hope asked."I say that I'm getting the lawnmower out and fixing this grass height, it's up to my balls and I won't be walking around in swim shorts with it this tall" Nicky said and walked off. us girls just broke out laughing our asses off at Nicky, "I think he is hoping other teen's come up here so he can get some action " Molly said while laughing still. "Well be my guest cuz I'm not going there" Hope comments back. "To be honest I don't know which side he is this summer." I stated as the boy is nerdy but yet gets action from both guys and girls.

We continued to laugh "ok I'm going to check out my old cabinet making power tools so I can get fixing some of the wood work. I walked over to my little shed that dad helped me build up here for specifically my tools and projects.I turned on the lights and pulled off all the tarps, and damn the dust that came off them had me coughing and sneezing.I was glad tho that we never sold these pieces of equipment, so I'm half way through pulling out the mightier saw and table saw when Hope comes up behind me " need any help?" Holy s**t make a louder noise please. I tell her "sorry I'll remember next time", she told me, "it's all good and yeah could you lift the table saw up and roll it out to by the deck?" I asked her "sure thing" she picked it up and did as I asked her.

Once I got this pain in the ass mightier out and started rolling it over to the deck, and holy hell Nicky already had the front yard cut nicely."Hey Nicky" I yelled at him, he turned so quickly I thought he was going to fall on his ass. Nicky turned off the lawnmower and came over to me and the girls "ya what's up Chloe?" he asked, "well it's almost noon did you want to get the BBQ out back cleaned up and started?" I asked. "Sure thing, what do you girls want ribs, burgers, chicken or fish?" Nicky asked us all.

"I'm down for some fish, what about you two?" I asked Hope and Molly, "I eat anything really, so fish sounds good to me" Hope answer "that goes double for me" Molly answered as well. "ok if we're doing fish then I guess we should get the boat out and go fishing" Nicky commented. "I'll go get the pulls,and bait" Molly said jogging off to the back deck. "Ok Hope and I will go get the boat from the boat shack." I answered and started walking around back and down to the doc, "Hey hold up I'm coming down with you girls" Nicky yelled as he ran to catch up to Hope and I.

Once we all got down to the boat shack, I unlocked the new lock I put on last night. when we walked into the shack the memories of me and my brother came flooding in just like water. I miss the i***t so much, shaking my head Hope and I move around the shack to get over to the double doors that we bring the boat's in through. "hey Nicky any luck on the paddles and keys?" Hope yelled out "Yeah I got them give me a second " came Nicky's response. "when we come back I'll need to get to work on the decks" I stated to them both "copy that" Hope answered with her hand to her forehead.
