The Night I Meet Them

Finally in about four more minutes me and my three best friends will be on summer vacation. YESS! Oh I'm so sorry I should probably introduce myself before we get started, my name is Chloe storm and this is when one summer up at my old family cabin changed our lives. Now back to school I was sitting in history class, learning about old people who are dead, dust, nothing left of them but what is written by someone else. Can you note my sarcasm and excitement for this class, roll my eyes history is really boring for me I would rather be outside drawing or learning from my friend Hope who does photography. that's what I plan to do this summer along with hanging with my other two best friends. Nick who I call either bookworm or Nicky it all depends on the type of day, he is either being a teacher's pet and jotting down every word said or he is jumping from one side of the fence to the other if you catch my drift. Then there is Molly she is a wonderful girl I sit beside her in history class in the back, she is on the bigger side of the spectrum but HEY! more to love and cuddle with when we watch scary movies.While Nicky being Nicky sits front and center of this boring class. any way all three of us are counting down the minutes and slowly packing up so the teacher doesn't notice that we are focused on summer vacation and getting out of here instead of the class. Two minutes left I noticed and poked Molly to have her look up at the clock, she had a big smile on her face. She had told me this morning that this was her first ever cabin trip, so me and the other two Hope and Nick want to do everything from campfires, swimming in the lake, hiking, having BBQ dinners The works and Hope wanted to capture it all for her portfolio. The count down begins five,four,three,two,one HELL YEAH! we all ran out like we were lit on fire, straight to Hope's Jeep and of course the most suitable song blaring out of her speakers School's out by Mr.Alice Cooper himself. we were on the road before we knew it, my family's cabin is located in a small town called Eagle Lake it's so beautiful up there. My family hasn't been up there since my brother Alex had his accident. he had just turned 18 and one of his buddies brought up their dad's boat. All of them had been drinking from what I was told and on that night decided to take the boat out from the dock, no one had seen my brother fall overboard until it was too late. he tried to swim up to the back side of the boat and got caught in its propellers, due to the affects of the booze in his system, it had really impaired his perception of where he was compared to the boat's propeller blades. Since then the family cabin has been still, dead of life so it's we're.So I begged my parents to let us be here all school year because I missed it so much and all the good memories it still holds. We had been driving for a while, only making two pit stops along the way for gas and snacks. I really couldn't believe my eyes when we pulled up to the cabin, it was like dad had said "It'll be rough but you kids can handle it when you want to". Good god I hope my old power tools still work in the garage from when I took cabinet making. Nicky came out of the Jeep walking around to help me out, short people problems when things are not stock height. once I was down he had asked me "Where you all keep the goats to cut this grass" I just laughed and said you'll find the lawnmower in the garage out back. But it's late we'll all pitch in, in the morning as it's too dark to see what we're doing. It was the truth and I really didn't want any other accidents up here because I think then my parents would sell it and I would have nothing left of my brother and our happy memories. So we all grabbed our bags and the coolers that were full of food and drinks. Once the coolers were emptied out into the kitchen, I went down stairs to the basement the neighbors up here turned off the power running into the cabin for us. So I'm down here with my phone light to restore the power to the cabin by the fuse panel, which by the way is still those old school fuses that look like a glass door nob. I really need to tell Dad time for them to be upgraded to breakers, but that is a chat for another time. I finally found it in the far back corner of the basement, damn I didn't like being down here my hair always stands on end like I'm being watched. I hit the switch so fast I forgot to close my eyes, stupid girl meaning myself I took a look around but like I told myself no one was down there with me. I shook it off and made my way back up the stairs to the kitchen, finished putting all the food and drinks away. When I had that completed, we all grabbed a bottle of water and started talking about who was sleeping where, Nicky was taking my parents room as he liked it's view the best, Hope and Molly wanted to bunk so that meant my room due to the bunk bed in there and lastly me I was staying in my brother's old room. We walked off to our respective rooms and unpacked and then reconvened in the living room once all together Hope asked "so are we going to watch a movie or plain out the day tomorrow?", we all voted for movie time. "Why did we all agree on SAW 5 as the first movie of our summer vacation?" I had asked no one in particular, "because no one has been up here in almost four years" Hope had replied. Ok fair point we need to update the movie selection here, we all agreed and started laughing until we heard a BANG!. We looked at each other every one shook their head, then we all heard it again BANG!. "O...ok, w...w...who is trying to be the funny one" Molly stuttered out, we shook our heads again to indicate that it was none of us, Nicky decided to get up off the couch. " I'm going to check around. You ladies coming?" he asked we all got up and took out our cell phones and lit them up, "ok stay close together" I mentioned to everyone. Once we were all in agreement we headed out hand and hand, so no one wandered off. Nicky was in front of me and Molly where in the middle and Hope brought up the end, and I'm glad it was her for one big reason she had hunting skills like no one else. Her dad and brother would take her bow hunting every season and with that knowledge she was going to teach us all how to do archery, so on her back right now is her bow and arrows. We had just made it around to the back of the cabin when the bang sounded once again BANG!, I turned my head to the left and noticed something about our boat shack."Hey guys " I whispered to my friends and pointed down to the shack, we all shifted are movement in that direction. Once we were near the old shack we noticed the lock had been removed and left on the ground, but yet a new lock in its place with a set of keys hanging from it. Nicky taps me and whispers " did you guys ever ask the neighbors to change the locks here?" I shook my head no, as far as I knew neither had my parents. I walked up to the door ever so quietly, of course everyone else followed behind me, inside the shack were two I would say 20 something's and they were whispering and bumping into things. "Hey" I had startled them, good I had thought. "Get lost kid this is none of your business" the guy on the right side, "yeah get off our land, noisy kids". "our land?" I question "just who do you think you are?" I had also questioned but that one was out loud "Keith and Cliff Cold Moon we found this place so now it's ours" the guy on the right who I'm assuming is Keith said. "Well sorry to bust your two's bubble but this property belongs to my family" I had said "so you best be leaving without any of our belongings." and man when I tell you they where pissed off I mean I had really pissed them off. they stormed out of their and vowed to return and pull the land out from underneath us. Once I knew that they where fully f*****g gone I took one of Hope's locks and relocked the boat shack. Once I was back inside, we all let out a breath. "I don't know about you three but I got a very cold, and terrible vibe from those two".Ever last one of them shook their head in agreement. "ahh, ok lets all get some sleep for tomorrow" Molly said to us all, I could tell she was scared and tired due to the long drive and the movie and finding those guys in my family boat shack.
