Our mate had just been taken down to the surgery room for her procedure. I felt like a total asshole for attempting to keep things from her and was slightly upset with my brother for having the balls to tell her everything. This whole relationship thing is so new to me, and I feel like I am over-compensating on the protection end of it. I just want to keep her protected from any more ugliness happening around her. The goddess knows she has faced enough in her life.
