George and Phoenix come rushing in after killing Jackson's accomplices. I linked Phoenix begging him to get Riley out of there. No matter what I did, Jackson was not moving away from her. George shifted again into his wolf, Denver. He sent me a mind link asking if I was able to use my destruction power like I had during the battle that day.
I told him that I couldn't, because Jackson was of a higher rank. It would be no use. Franz spoke to me and said, "There is another power I can use, but it could be of dire consequences to you and me, Maddix. I have the power of poison. That is part of the reason it is so dangerous for us to try and turn our mate into one of us. All we would need to do would be to get our fangs into him. It would have to be near his neck or stomach.
