Girl in the corner

Helen's POV When I went back to Elite Academy the halls were pretty empty, I walked to my next class as I replayed what happened at Damon's office with Asher. Why had Asher been dropping stuff for Anne at Damon's office. It could have been for business, I guess but why would Asher be doing it instead of his father. As far as I knew Anne and Bruce didn't talk to the Karl. At least not at fancy parties or in a mutual kissing up way. Not that we had much of fancy parties. But Bruce and Anne tried to avoid them. I shook my head and fastened up so I would not be late. I had English now with Mr Jenson, the teacher whose class no one missed . Not because he was strict or anything, it was actually more of the opposite. Mr Jenson was the youngest teacher in our school, still in his early twenties. Everyone liked him because he was chill and funny. And well for the ladies his good looks helped a lot. I was the last person to arrive in class but the bell hasn't rung so I'm not exactly late. Mr Jenson shot me a weird look but made no remark. I took my usual sit at the back corner of the class. It was easy this period, just copying notes, Mr Jenson displayed on the board. It was pretty awkward for me when we had to do group work especially because I didn't talk to anyone. Few minutes into the class, there was a quiet knock on the door before it was opened. Which made me wonder why the person bothered to knock in the first place if they were not going to wait for an answer. I got my answer when I looked up to see Christian Harvey . He didn't need to knock since he was part of the Royalty. He could have slammed the door open and even set off the alarm and he wouldn't have gotten into trouble. And he knew it I looked around and rolled my eyes before focusing back on my work. It was the usual reaction the Royalty provoked. Admiration, longing, envy, infatuation, a little bit of thinly veiled contempt. I guess it was normal to get starry-eyed around the royalty. They were beautiful, Handsome, wealthy and famous and very much so exclusive. But you would think that every one would get used to it after three years . Christian was the youngest of the Elite. He was a year below my grade and a junior and supposedly the only one in the group because his sister was. "I'm looking for Helen " he said quietly almost like he didn't want to interrupt. I doubt that though, every eye was glued to him. The sound of my pencil lead breaking snapped through the silence of the class. Awkward!!!! I calmly let out a silent breathe through my gritted teeth as I continued taking notes with my extra pen. Very few people other than teachers knew who I was, mostly because of my forced best friend. Sure they might ask who the girl in the corner is ignoring the closest thing we had to the "Royalty" at Elite Academy. But no one had ever gone to any extent to know my name as far as I knew. It was weird that Christian Harvey, the Royalty was looking for me. He probably for another Helen. The loud bubbly girl in his grade. I had gone out of my way to avoid the Royalty. I had never come in contact with any one of them. Until an hour ago, actually few minutes ago, when I met Asher Karl and told him I found and scandalous secret cause I thought he was Damon. Finally Mr Jenson Spoke up, "I think you have the wrong class" His eyes fractioned to me for a second before they focused back on Christian. The teachers knew who I was and they knew I wasn't exactly social. Christian Harvey shook his head, a small smirk curling up his face as he watched me deliberately avoid his gaze.
