"Let's get divorced!"

A car accident left wealthy heiress Lisa blind and her family destroyed, later she married billionaire Blaine, who offered his help. Three years into their marriage, Lisa discovered that it was all a plot and decided to file for divorce. The arrogant Blaine was convinced that Lisa would come back to him, so he signed the divorce papers without hesitation.

They met again a year later at a party, and Lisa was in all her glory, stunning everyone. Blaine watched in thought as he saw the confident and glorious Lisa, wondering if she was really his little wife.

Lisa held a glass of red wine, smirking with red lips, "Blaine, let me correct this: I'm your EX-wife."

1 Just let me go
She turned her attention to the door and asked with a questioning voice, “Blaine, is that you?”  She couldn’t see him, couldn’t see anything since the accident that forever took her sight along with her father three years ago. She shivered from the agony that she felt at the silence as well as the cold chill mixed with snow that rushed through the room as the door was pushed open.  Blaine walked up to her with an icy demeanor and a cold calculating expression as he stared into her beautiful eyes that would not see him yet still held a bleakness to them.  “Why did you have me come back here, you know I am busy?” His impatience and cold tone left her feeling bereft.  He obviously doesn’t want me, he is sick of dealing with me.  I wish I had known this before now.  Her thoughts swirling Lisa felt an incredible pain ripping through her heart.  She hesitated, biting her lip, taking a shaky breath she stilled herself and simply said what she knew she needed to say.  “Blaine I want a divorce.” Blaine felt shock ripple through him at her statement.  He took a moment, locking his jaw, to still himself before he retorted. “Lisa if you take that back and I will pretend this never happened.” She felt herself filled with pain and rage and she yanked her arms out from under the blanket that provided her with warmth.  “I am not asking this for nothing, I don’t want to cause you any more trouble.  Look at me!”  Her fragile skin was so pale it had taken on a bluish tint and her arms sported the marks of all the holes the needles had left in their wake. With a sharp inhale and trembling lips she let the words fall from her mouth. “You have been taking me to the hospital to have my blood drawn for the last three years Blaine.  At first I thought it was for check-ups and then I thought maybe I had gotten some sort of disease that they were checking my blood.  I told myself it was because you loved me and wanted me to be okay.  I know now that you were lying to me about everything this whole time.” “Blaine, I know that you have been giving my blood to Dana for blood transfusions.  She has been your ex for three years while I have been your wife, is she still so important to you after all this time that you would do this to me, to us?”  Tears pricked her eyes as she looked off into the void of the room, unable to see where he truly was standing. Blaine felt his heart twinge as though it had been stabbed by the very needles that had left their mark on Lisa as he looked over her bruised arms and her pained face.  He swallowed the strange lump of feelings in his throat and looked away from the sight of her before coldly spitting out, “How exactly did you find out about this?” Numbly reaching into her pocket she took out a set of documents and standing from the bed Lisa moved the few steps forward and tossed them onto the table a few feet in front of her.  “It doesn’t matter how I found out, I have the divorce papers already Blaine, just sign them and we can both be free.” With a grunt Blaine picked up the papers and looked through the agreement she wanted him to sign.  He looked up from the words before him as he looked at her pained expression.  She actually wants to be rid of me so badly that she is willing to leave without taking anything.  In that moment he wanted her to hurt, she can’t just leave me he thought. “Yes, I have been hiding this from you the entire time we have been married.”  Smiling he moved closer to Lisa wanting her to hear every word as they fell from his lips. “I’ll tell you why I’ve been giving Dana your blood.” “Dana has been in a coma for three years because your father hit her while driving drunk and she has been in a vegetative state ever since.  She’s been in a hospital bed this whole time!  Your family owes her for that and I figured what better way for you to pay it that to give her the blood transfusions she needs so badly.” Lisa’s face paled at the venom in his words as her body stiffened and she shook her head in denial.  “That’s not possible!  My dad would never drink and drive!” Blaine glared at her even though he knew that she couldn’t see his face, he couldn’t believe how quickly she defended the man.  “Oh stop it already Lisa.  If he wasn’t a drunk and driving under the influence why did the tests come back with such a high level of alcohol in his blood?  I can’t believe you are going to sit there and defend him even after the tests show he did it.  Where is your sense of right and wrong?” Blaine watched her face as she warred with the words he threw at her and in a moment of rage he chose to twist the knife a little more.  “You know what; if it hadn’t been for the fact that you and Dana have the same blood type I wouldn’t have even given you a second thought.  I only married you so that you could help her and I could get revenge for what your drunkard father did to Dana!” Lisa couldn’t believe what she was hearing, when had he become so cold and heartless?  Her heart hammered in pain as she took a step back.  In her state of turmoil she tripped over the chair that had been moved when Blaine had stepped closer and fell to the floor.  Her backside hurt from the fall but it was nothing compared to the searing pain ravaging her chest and mind. Blaine made no move to help her up as he stared down at her with a cruel glint in his eyes.  “No Lisa, you don’t get to demand let alone ask me for a divorce.  Your family still owes Dana for what your dad did to her and as far as I am concerned you will keep giving her the blood she needs until her body can heal enough for her to wake up.  When that happens I will decide if I will let you go, and only then.  You don’t get to leave until I say you can go do we understand each other?” Lisa felt the backs of her eyes burning as the tears gathered within them threatening to slide down her cheeks as the cold hand of reality slapped at her.  Blaine was colder and more calculating than she had ever thought was possible of him.  Using the offending chair that had caused her to fall in the first place she picked herself up from the ground and stood to face him.  She might not be able to see anything, but she knew she must look pitiful in her bruised and weakened state.  Despite this she took a shallow breath and then steeled her shoulders while lifting her head to try and level a gaze at wherever Blaine may be standing.  She refused to let her unshed tears fall as she made the only choice she felt she could, the only one that would end this farce of a marriage and hopefully bring peace to her shattered heart.  “No, Blaine.  I will only give Dana my blood if you sign the divorce papers.  I won’t go on like this anymore.  You have a choice to make, either you let me go and your precious Dana gets the blood she needs, or you keep me bound to your side and the blood bank you married dries up” She could feel the blood rushing in her veins as she waited for him to answer her ultimatum.  She knew if she hadn’t been clutching the back of the chair in what must be a white knuckled grip of death they would be shaking right now.  As it was she couldn’t fold, if she budged even one single inch on this she had a feeling that Blaine would use the opportunity to pounce and rip her resolve to shreds.  She listened intently to his breathing in the room as she waited; knowing that this was her last chance to get out of this, he never wanted her so why was he holding on so tightly. She would not cry she had her pride and what was left of her dignity and she refused to give him any more of herself that she already had.  She could give Dana her blood, she knew that woman was his true love he had made that abundantly clear, but she would not take the insult of doing it while still married to him any longer.  She refused to be at his mercy and at his whims any longer, this needed to end if she was going to salvage anything of herself.  “I mean it Blaine; I will give her as much blood as she needs to recover, but only if you sign the divorce papers!”
