Chapter 4

(DANIEL'S POV)

I take a seat and listen to her.

"before your father arrived at our table for dinner my father made a big announcement about the two families forming an alliance, he says both him and your father have come to an agreement that you are to marry Nelly"

I can't explain how I exactly feel at this moment , a mixture of confusion and anger towards my father , that man if trying to control my life in every way possible.

"I'm not shocked about this sudden change, there has been rumors that your father's empire is experiencing difficulties and this I suspect is a power move"

Now I notice her mood as changed and I take her hand in mine.

"I don't want to marry Nelly"

Kate lifts her head up and I can tell that this new change is not good for her,the eyes never lie.

"You should marry her" she says her voice coming out more like a whisper.

"I think I might have a plan but before that I need you to promise me that whatever happens you'll wait for me" I say

"Daniel we also need to stop what we're trying to do before it's too late, we can't keep hooking up "

I'm not going to lose Kate not now ,I know we are not dating but done day will show her that I want her to be mine.

"Kate I need to go but for now please trust me I have a plan"

(KATE'S POV)

Daniel stand up and leaves in a hurry,I can't help but wonder what he is planning to do but as for me I think I will have to reconsider taking a trip to South Africa to clear my head I need it.

I walk upstairs to my bedroom, take off my clothes and take a long hot bubble bath to relax.

After taking a bath I switch on my TV and.

'honey I hope you got home safe,I'm so sorry about what happened during dinner with your father but you should know he is not happy with you talking back at him infront of everyone especially the Johnsons you should apologizeto your father"

After reading the text I switched off my phone and went to sleep it was already late.

In the Morning I woke up refreshed but still

a bit uneasy with the changes that are about to happen between the Johnsons and our family

something about this whole thing tells that there is war coming and I don't want to be here when it happens.

"Hey are you awake yet" Dominic says peeking through my door then he enters holding breakfast and freshly squeezed oranje juice.

"Come in , I was just finishing up some work"

I work online most of the time and the money is normal but not as much as I used to receive monthly from my father.

"So I spoke to your father about the arranged marriage between Daniel and Nelly,he thinks the marriage will help the family because the Johnsons have more influence now and money obviously so I guess this is a power play move"

I knew my dad would do this kind of thing but I just didn't know he would do it sooner.

"Well Nic I talked to Daniel last night and I told him to marry Nelly but he said he has a plan"

Dominic takes a sausage from the breakfast he made me .

"Yeah I think you should trust him "Dominic say while taking the bite of the sausage.

"After he left you he met with me outside briefly to explains his plan"

I look at Dominic surprised.

"So you guys are now friends I guees"

"No friends per say but we have something in common and that is we both care about"

Well I understand that they now have an understanding because of me but they wouldn't have to do that forever because I will be leaving after the wedding I wouldn't want to be to obvious leaving before the wedding.

"I think I should meet Nelly for coffee since she's now here I can't avoid her forever "

Dominic obviously would not approve of the meeting but we can't avoid Nelly forever after all we're still family.

"I'll come with you and I'm not taking no for an answer"

Dominic says while walking out of my bedroom.

I smile knowing I can always count on him for anything, Dominic has always been more present emotionally more than my own father that is why I would always choose him , he is my family.

(Nelly's Pov)

After getting a call from Kate I can't say I am surprised she called me back , Kate is naive and always forgiving even after you hurt her countless times Kate will always forgive you.

I get dressed in my pink short dress,I put on my pink stilettos and I take my pink LV bag. I think I look good Kate never dresses up unless it's a family dinner.

As I head out I receive a text from Kate saying she's already at the restaurant.

I walk in and Kate is sitting at the table near the window already with 2 cups of coffee on the table.

"Well Fashionably late Nel,I ordered you some coffee it's still hot"

I'm surprised to see that she's even dressed up she even has on her signature red lipstick she even smells like a million bucks.

"Uhm thanks but you shouldn't have kate"

I say not wanting to show her that I don't trust her . Never trust someone you tried to poison.

"I insist Nelly, don't you love coffee anymore "

I take the cuo but I don't immediately drink it, but I'm sure Kate wouldn't do anything to me she's too weak.

"Thank you,I see you have been busy lately"

I say pointing at her neck, she has large hickeys on her neck not one but three.

"Well one needs a strong hunk to focus on you know instead of minding people's business"

She says with an unfazed tone.

who knew Kate has this side to her ,I always thought she was a loner who can't get men.

It is only now I realize that men have always wanted Kate more than they did me,I mean as we're seated now men are eyeing Kate more even our waiter keeps flirting with her.

"So why didn't you want me at your place the other day"

Kate elegantly sips on her coffee.

"I had a long night so I was tired,you know how it is drinking and spending the night at a man's house" She says .I really have to keep my cool

"Oh I didn't realize you started dating"

"Well Nelz I don't have to inform you about my every move since you have taken it appointment yourself to make it your duty to know everything I do, anyway I called you here to tell you that I want you to stay away from me, I will attend your wedding but we are not friends if you do anything to disturb my peace ...." she says putting a bottle of a liquid I Well know on the table and places a gun next to it

"I will end your life " panic rises inside of me as I realize that she knows I was the one who tried to poison her and she might have done the same to my coffee.

Before I could even respond she stood up from her chair and walks out leaving me to wonder if I should put my plan into action.
