Little trip away

Daniel's POV...

I woke up bright and early feeling really good. I turned over in bed and realised I was still holding Bella. I carefully got up trying not to wake her. I went to see if Becky was awake but she wasn't she was still cutely snoring. I knew that this trip away meant a lot so I was going to make it special for her. She lived in Oxfordshire which isn't too far from London but I still wanted to spend a couple of days there so she can really enjoy it. 

I have only ever been to Oxford for work never actually taken the time to enjoy it much like many of the other places I have visited. When she wakes up I will tell her to get ready. Bella was now awake and packing her bag, I got Max ready put his bed in the car and some of the other things we would need. I sat with Bella on my lap with my laptop out looking at places we could stay.

 We decided to rent a cottage as we were taking Max so he would need a garden to explore. I checked it was pet friendly and fortunately for us it was. We were all done and prepared all we were waiting on was Becky to wake up. She was obviously shattered because it was 11 am and she was still fast asleep.

I hated to do this but we needed to get going so I had to wake sleeping beauty. "Hey baby time to wake up." She slowly opened her eyes and let out a yawn. Still as stunning as ever though. I told her my plan and she went to get ready. By 12 we were about to leave the apartment. 

On the road we had a sing along laughing and joking the whole way. Bella and I kept the fact we had rented a cottage a secret from Becky as we wanted it to be a surprise. When we arrived to look on her face was priceless. Max went straight for the garden to explore and Bella followed him. 

Those two were as thick as thieves, I was so happy I decided to bring him into our lives. We went in the cottage and settled in, the cupboards and fridge was full stocked so I decided to make some lunch then we could venture out into the town or whatever Becky wanted to do. 

"Bex are you okay honey?" I asked her while we were eating as she seemed a little quiet. She told me she was fine and wanted to see her parents graves today not tomorrow. I told her that it wasn't a problem. We went to get some flowers from the florist before we entered the grave yard. She found their graves and tided them up making it all neat and tidy. She then placed the flowers down and sat and talk to them for a while. 

Bella sat on her lap while I sat next to them. Bella asked me what mummy was doing and I had to explain to her that her Nanny and Grandad were in heaven and mummy was talking to them. She even introduced me and Bella to them. I felt honoured that she would share that with us. From the corner of my eye I saw a figure looking at us well Bex to be exact. I was determined to figure out who it was so I told them I was going to get a blanket from the car. I was going to do that but after talking to this person. 

Once I saw this person up close I knew he was Becky's brother it was so clear as day. I had to make sure though so I asked, "Are you Charlie Adams?". Yes he replied. I asked him why he hadn't been in contact with Bex and he said he was warned off by Jordan becuase he became suspicious of what he was doing to her. I told him Jordan was no longer in the picture, I didn't tell him why as it's not my story to tell but I told him Becky really missed him and wanted to talk to him. 

He seemed slightly nervous but was willing to talk to her. I grabbed the blanket from the car and walked over to Becky and Bella. Bella was now sat beside Max stroking his fur. As soon as Becky clocked who I was walking with she rushed into his arms and cried. He held her so tight, if he wasn't her brother I would have been so jealous. 

Charlie's POV... 

I was going to visit my parents grave I hadn't been for a while and felt bad as it was really neglected. When I arrived at the grave yard I saw three people a little girl and who I assumed were her parents. On further inspection the woman sat on the floor by my parents grave I realised was my little sister Becky.

 The man standing with them clocked me. He then made his way over to me I walked where I was out of sight but where he could still approach me. He knew who I was but asked for confirmation. When he told me Jordan was out of the picture I felt so relieved, I wanted to know how but I guess that was for another time. He introduced himself as Daniel and he was her boyfriend.

 He seemed like a sound bloke and I hope he treats her well. When he told me that Becky was looking for me and wanted to talk I felt ashamed that I had left her for so long. He started walked over with me in tow. When Becky spotted me she launched herself at me in a hug and began sobbing. My heart was crushed I was a terrible big brother I didn't protect her when I should have. Our parents would have been ashamed of me. "Charlie is it really you?" She asked mid way through her sobbing.

 I told her it was really me. I looked at the little girl behind me she looked so beautiful. Becky saw where my eyes were and she introduced Bella her daughter. I stared at her and saw the resemblance of Becky but what I noticed was she didn't have any features that correlated with Daniel. Becky saw my confusion and confirmed my suspicion "She's Jordan's daughter". Oh I thought. She told me she will tell me later, she asked me to go back with them to their rental cottage I agreed and followed their car. 

When we got to the cottage Daniel told us that he was going to go outside with Bella and their dog Max so we could talk. Becky told me how she escaped Jordan whilst pregnant with Bella, how she was taken in by two very kind people who I will be eternally grateful for and cannot wait to meet them. I loved hearing about how she met Daniel and was so glad she was happy. She even told me about why Jordan was no longer in their lives. I couldn't believe how strong my sister was.

 I didn't want to leave her ever again. When she told me that she lives in London I was gutted as I still live here. I was currently jobless and wasn't sure where I was going in life Daniel then overheard and offered me a job in London and told me I could stay with them until I get myself on my feet. I couldn't believe it I finally found my sister and have got myself a new job in one day. I cannot believe I have a niece either, I couldn't wait to get to know her and spoil her. 

We had dinner together and Becky introduced me properly to Bella, she seemed a little shy to begin with but then warmed up to me and wanted me to play with her and Max which I did. Daniel then took her off to bed when she began to yawn. I took this time to cuddle my little sister I missed her so much and was so glad that she was back in my life. I decided now was the perfect time to go home.

 I invited them round for tomorrow initially so they can help me pack but also I wanted to take them around the city centre. Take them to the places that Becky and I loved to visit as children. I couldn't wait for me and my sister to become closer again. I also wanted to get to know Daniel more. He had welcomed me with open arms and I wanted to show him that I appreciated him and make sure that he was making my sister happy. I cannot help it but I want to protect my sister from everything that can cause her harm. I want to make sure he isn't a threat to her. I failed at protecting her once I am not going to fail again. 

The next day came around fast Becky, Bella and Daniel would be arriving soon. My flat wasn't much and to be honest I was grateful to be leaving it. When they arrived I took out mine and Becky's memory box I wanted to share it with her and tell Bella stories of her Nanny and Grandad.

 Daniel went out to get us some lunch while we talked. I took this opportunity to make sure Becky was happy with Daniel. Bella seemed to love him and even called him Daddy. I was glad that they had a man in their lives that would protect them as well. She told me what he had done for them already and I was happy to hear this. 

After lunch we went out to play crazy golf. Daniel helped Bella she loved it I loved spending time with them. They were such a cute family and I was glad that I had now become a part of it. They told me that we would be leaving tomorrow evening back to London. I decided I would be taking my car so I didn't have to rely on them all the time. After crazy golf we went out for dinner. 

I learnt all about Bella's Kidney transplant from Becky. They reassured me that everything was fine now. They also told me if I was to ever babysit Bella for them that she was highly allergic to nuts. I made a mental note of that for future reference. I was so excited to be moving to London. I wanted to meet Mr and Mrs Jones I had heard so many good things about them. I heard that Daniel's family were also so welcoming and wanted to meet them too. Tomorrow was going to be the start of my new life. 

Daniel's POV...

Charlie seemed like a really nice bloke and you could clearly see how much he adored his baby sister. When he found out that he had a niece he was so happy and loved playing with her. I knew that Bex having her brother in her life was going to make her so happy. I am glad he is here to support her as well as me. 

When I heard that he didn't have a job and was still living here I knew that if I gave him and job and allowed him to live with us would make Bex happy and would mean he would be a key part of our family which is something that I know she wanted. 

After we had dinner with Charlie, we went back to the cottage put Bella to sleep and made sure Max was okay. We then went to bed feeling good. This trip away had been so refreshing for us all. It gave us the time to step back and realised what we had was really good. Becky out of the blue whilst we were in bed said thank you. I asked her what she was saying thank you for and she said for allowing her brother to stay as part of our family.

I told her that I would do anything I could to make her happy. I kissed her hard on the lips, this kiss then got more and more passionate and soon we lost ourselves in one another. I loved this woman with all of my heart and I wanted her to know that. She soon began to get tired and fell asleep in my arms. I kissed her forehead and laid back thinking about our future maybe everything was going to be okay. 

I thought about buying a house for us. I know she felt that the apartment was more my place than her so I wanted us to have a place that was new to us both. I think maybe when we have been together for a year or so. This was going to be the start of a beautiful life. 

I also thought about Bella she will be 4 in February and have to start school. My baby girl was going to be going to big school I couldn't believe it. I know Becky will be so nervous for her but I couldn't wait to do school pick up and drop offs and compete with the other dads. I was going to be the best dad to Bella I could possibly be no matter what she will know how loved she is by me and Becky.
