A Bakers Dozen dreams

I am here for you

Daniel's POV...

When Becky fainted to say I was worried was an understatement, what could be in that letter that could cause her this much stress and heartache. I picked her up and carried her to her bedroom, I carefully placed her on the bed. I returned and picked up the letter she had dropped and went and sat on the other side of the bed to read it. I was shocked it seemed to be a threatening letter from who I can only assume is Bella's father, he wanted both Becky and Bella back and his word

 'I WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO GET WHAT I WANT! I WANT TO MEET MY DAUGHTER! I WANT YOU BACK! I WILL FIND YOU AND WHEN I DO YOU WILL REGRET LEAVING ME ! MARK MY WORD YOU WILL REGRET IT!'

When I read that I immediately got picture of her life before she moved here. Suddenly I heard her groan, she was waking up. I shot up right by her side to make sure that she was okay. She saw that I had the letter in my hand and started to sob. I took her into my arms to try and calm her down. When she gradually stopped crying I sat beside her on the bed and she leaned her head on my shoulder we sat there for a few moments I thought she had fallen asleep but was proved wrong when she opened her mouth to speak. 

Becky's POV....

As soon as I opened that letter my heart stopped it was him... Thousands of questions were running through my brain how does he know where we live? Am I safe? How am I going to protect Bella? These thoughts were too much for me to handle all in a blink of an eye everything went dark. 

When I woke up I found myself in my bedroom tucked under the covers. I felt groggy but I knew I had to get up sooner or later. As I began to sit up Daniel rushed to my side to make sure I was okay. I saw that he was holding the letter, some part of me was annoyed that he went behind my back and read it but another part was glad that he cared enough to find out the reason I went all funny. 

I started to sob, he really cared about me. I gradually stopped crying and leaned my head on his shoulder I just needed some comfort. After a dew minutes of silence I decided now was time to tell him the truth.  If he was going to be sticking around for a while it's best he knows the truth. 

"Daniel the letter is from my ex, Bella's father. As you saw he is threatening me and wants me to return back to him, but I keep refusing to acknowledge his wishes. The reason I left was because he was abusive. It started with verbal and emotional abuse then the more angry he got the more drunk he got and then took his aggression out on me physically. It stopped for a while once he knew I was pregnant but then he beat me so badly when I was 5 months pregnant I nearly lost Bella.

 He was mortified at what he had done and stopped and was nothing but nice to me until I was nearly the 9 months mark. He lost his job and took that frustration out on me and my bump that was Bella, I had so many broken bones and scars that I was now used to this kind of pain. All I wanted to do was protect Bella so I ran.  

I had spent 3 nights on a park bench before David and Amanda took me in. They saw that I was pregnant and clearly injured, took me to the hospital to treat my injuries and check on baby. I was kept in for 4 weeks my injuries were so bad that I had to stay until Bella was ready to arrive. I became so close with Amanda and David there were always by my side even when I gave birth to Bella. 

They bought all of the things that Bella would need and a couple days after we were released and they insisted that I stay with them. I told them what had happened to me and they vowed to protect both Bella and I for as long as they would live."

Daniel's POV.....

Hearing what Becky had gone through was challenging I had no idea it was this bad but what I got from it was that she really was a fighter. I cannot believe they put up with him for so long. I am completely star struck. After she told me this her tear came flooding out. I pulled her into my arms so tightly that I was scared to let go. We laid down on the bed in each others arms. She finally fell asleep after nearly an hour of crying.

 I didn't want to leave her in this fragile state so decided I would sleep on the sofa, as I got up to leave I was stopped by a hand grabbing my wrist followed by a quiet sleepy voice saying "please stay with me" I did what was asked took my clothes off and slipped into the bed. As soon as I climbed in she snuggled up to me. I stroked her hair and held on to her tightly. Once I knew she was asleep I felt comfortable enough to do the same. 

The next morning 

I woke up to see Becky still peacefully asleep I did not want to wake her because she had a rough night, I woke up to her mumbling in her sleep multiple times then followed by screams. I knew she was haunted by nightmares. Each time I just held her to comfort her. She was battling so hard her fight was mostly over with him but now it was a fight with herself that was stopping her from being happy. 

I got out of bed had a shower and got dressed for the day. I was about to open the bedroom door when a rather energetic Bella came bouncing in. "Morning Dan Dan". she shouted. "Shh morning Bella quiet your mummy is asleep how about we make her some breakfast in bed" I said she nodded and led the way to the kitchen. 

We made a start on bacon and some waffles, Bella said that always makes her mummy smile. I poured some orange juice and placed it alongside the plate of food on the tray. Bella got the door whilst I carried it in to Becky. Bella gently woke Becky up with kisses all over her face. It made me giggle. She looked surprised yet happy. She saw me and mouthed thank you whilst she sat up and dug into her breakfast, I had already fed Bella and she now was back in the living room watching Ben and Holly's little kingdom. 

I waited for Becky to finish eating before speaking. "Becky I want you to know that you are so strong and I admire you for what you have gone through. I just want to let you know that I am here for you no matter what day or night I will be there." She responded with a cheeky smirk on her face and said "like my own personal knight in shining armour " I laughed at her comment. 

I needed to go home but I didn't want them to be alone so I came up with a great idea. Why don't I invite them to stay at my place then the anniversary party would be tomorrow and they can also stay then too. 

"Becky would you and Bella like to stay at my place tonight and tomorrow night. I don't want you to be alone right now and I need to go home and get changed. Saves me picking you up for the party tomorrow as well." 

She really thought about my request but soon agreed. She got up and started to pack a bag, I reminded her that she needed her dress. Once she was done with that we moved onto packing Bella's things whilst telling her our plans. We made our way to the car and soon set off for my penthouse.
