Establishing a friendship

Becky's POV.....

Getting to know Daniel in the car was great he told me that he was a businessman in London and that he had two siblings a younger brother and an older sister. I told him a little about me and Bella but not lots as I didn't want to go into detail about why I left and moved here when I was 9 months pregnant. He kept pushing though and I told him that I had to protect Bella he looked at me shocked and asked if someone was hurting me. That question made me break instantly down into a sobbing mess.

 He comforted me as best as he could. When we got home Bella launched herself at me I sort of lost my balance due to my foot but luckily Daniel was there to support me. He carried both Bella and I into Bella's room as it was way past her bedtime and she would not go down without a story first. What surprised me was the fact that Bella wanted Daniel to read her a story. She hadn't even spoken to him or introduced herself to him yet she was ready to have Storytime with him.

 She snuggled into me whilst he read her favourite story, Cinderella. Once she fell asleep we made our way back into the living room to greet Amanda and David. we all talked for a while before they had to leave as they would both have to run the Café for the next couple weeks whilst I was recovering so they needed their sleep. That left Daniel and I to talk some more.

 I began to get sleepy after a while I think it was due to both exhaustion and the pain relief I was currently on. I soon nodded off I felt myself being picked up by those muscular arms that I had become comfortable in most of the day and then being placed on my bed, he was even kind enough to tuck me in. I was so glad we exchanged numbers I didn't want this to be our last time together. He made me feel safe and secure something I hadn't felt in a long time. 

Three weeks later 

Daniel's POV...

I woke up this morning feeling fresh. I turned over and looked at my phone on the side table, as if on queue it vibrated. I was nervous for some reason I wanted it to be Becky so badly. I looked and was disappointed when I saw that it was just my sister. I answered the call rather groggily as I had just woken up. "Daniel !" she shouted. "Yes I am here, what do you want?" I replied. I love my sister greatly but why can she not just ring later on in the day it's always so early. From the phone call I gathered that she was having a party to celebrate her wedding anniversary Saturday night, tonight was Thursday and she wanted me to have a date this time.

 I thought about it and then I had the best idea I could invite Becky she could be my date. So I agreed to go. She was so pleased that I agreed. Next step was getting Becky to agree to accompany me. I know she is still on crutches but if we stay at our table most of the night she should be alright. I decided to go round and bring her and Bella some breakfast maybe that would sway her decision. We had been chatting via text since the day we met and I had been round several times since. I set off to her to deliver their breakfast. 

Becky's POV....

I woke up this morning feeling relaxed and safe. Daniel and I had grown close in the past couple of weeks, always texting each other and he had even been round a couple of times to see me and Bella. Bella had become very fond of him I think it's her having another male figure in her life she has only had David. I decided that I should get dressed and ready for the day ahead. I wasn't sure what I would be up to as I don't know what I can do I am supposed to be staying off of my foot as much as possible. Once I was dressed I looked at the time and decided that it was too early to wake Bella up so decided to hobble into the kitchen and make sure the washing up was done. 

I was listening to the radio and singing whilst drying the cutlery. I was broken away from my own little space when the door bell rang, I had no idea who it could be as both Amanda and David would be busy opening the Café up. I knew I wouldn't find out unless I opened it to see. To my surprise it was Daniel with a bag and two cups of what I believe was Coffee as well as a bouquet of flowers.

"Hi I wasn't expecting you to drop round." I said surprised by his arrival. "I thought that you might not want to make some breakfast so I thought I would bring breakfast to you and I really wanted to see you again." He answered my questioning look. 

I invited him in he handed me the flowers, they were stunning a mix of different colour roses. "Thank you for the flowers they were not necessary." He just smiled at my response. He placed the bag on the Island counter and I opened it to determine what he had brought. I pulled out three boxes two big one small, in these boxes were some pancakes and maple syrup. "Yummy my favourite" He chuckled at my response.

 He told me that he didn't know if I liked Coffee or tea so he decided to buy hot chocolate. This guy really knew what I liked without even knowing it. I also pulled out a small bottle of orange juice which he said was for Bella to accompany her pancakes. I told him that she wasn't awake yet, I went to fetch her whilst Daniel got some plates ready. 

"Bella wakey wakey time to get up sweetie". She opened her beautiful blue eyes still adjusting to the light. "Morning Mummy" she beamed. " Daniel is here sweetie and  he has  brought us  breakfast". She shot out like a light running in the direction of the kitchen. I followed her using my crutches to help me and made my way to the stool where Daniel had plated our breakfast up.

 "Morning Bella" Daniel said. "Morning Dan Dan" she replied making me smile. She began drinking her orange juice while I cut her pancakes into manageable bites. We all had enjoyed our pancakes and I was now getting Bella dressed whilst Daniel volunteered to do the washing up. Once we were all done Daniel said he wanted to talk to us about something. 

Daniel's POV...

" Becky you know my sister Scarlet and her husband Jason, well they have been married for 7 years now and have decided to have a little anniversary party and she would like me to bring a plus one. What I am trying to say is Will you accompany me?" I was nervous for her answer, but after a couple minutes she replied with a yes, soon followed by a question. "What about Bella?" Oh I forgot to tell her that Bella was also invited. "Bella is welcome as well don't you worry." I reassured her. 

She was smiling and I loved her smile it brought joy to me. Her smile soon faded though. I asked her what was wrong. " I don't have anything to wear!" I told her not to worry and then suggested that we even go shopping today to find her and Bella a dress. 

We soon got into the car I had a car seat still in my car from when my sister borrowed my car to pick one of the twins up. I strapped Bella into the car seat  and helped Becky into her seat up front with me. Around 20 minutes later we arrived at the shopping centre. First stop was a dress for Bella. Bella picked out a beautiful lavender sequin dress with matching shows and bow for her hair.

 Next was something for Becky, she didn't want me to make a fuss as I had already bought Bella's dress. There was no way I wasn't going to make a fuss I wanted Becky to have a beautiful dress to suit her beauty. 

She couldn't decide on a dress as she thought that they were all too expensive. I decided enough was enough and took charge. I found a beautiful sky blue dress that went just above the knee, the colour I knew would compliment her skin. It would make her shine. I handed her the dress and told her to try it on. Once she emerged from the changing room she took my breath away. She looked stunning. Despite having a cast on she still managed to captivate my full attention. 

We didn't bother with shoes for her as she could only wear one anyway. So much time had passed and as we missed lunch we decided to go to TGI Fridays for dinner. After dinner Bella was absolutely shattered so we knew it was time to take her to bed. I pulled up outside their apartment and offered to carry Bella in. We got into the lift, thank god it was working this time. Once we reached the door Becky saw a package with a letter as well on the doorstep. She picked it up and took it inside and placed it on the counter. She led me to Bella's room where we both tucked her in. Becky placed a kiss on her forehead and turned the light out. 

 I followed her into the kitchen she passed me a glass of water then went to opening her package. It was a single rose painted black. I couldn't understand why someone would send her that. She went straight to the letter that was attached to it. Once she opened it and finished reading it her face dropped and she dropped the letter. She looked completely lost she was about fall I was quick to catch her but as I did she fainted....
