Epilogue The sea mist hit my face and I stared out across the dark sea. The moonlight reflected off the waves and I glanced westward, heading back to America. Jeremiah’s and my recoveries had taken longer than I had expected, but we had a ship and the resources to take us back. I had focused my energy while I rested on reliving my mistakes, taking in the guilt and then forgiving myself for it all. I had come to terms with my foolishness. I tried hard to forget Henri and to let him go, but the pain of being used lingered still. And Phoebe acted as a bridge between my past and the future as I dreamed of her often.
